What are some books you would recommend to someone wanting to learn the history of Georgia? Georgian books are fine too, since I plan to study the language
I couldn't tell you any specific authors but would recommend any official history book written after Soviet union to get a general understanding and o into details after that on topics you might be interested in. I mostly use audio books and seminars, I have difficulty reading so I try to compensate but have to do a lot of reading for mythology research.
I'm disagreeing with "Russia are Mongol empire in disguise" part. Their invasion and staying was devastating, and definitely made us whole under Moscow's rule, but Romanovs Reign was a whole different thing with different instruments of control. They're often were cruel but still they weren't the same About other topics I'm agree more than less
wouldn't say so, if history is a story, Georgia and Ukraine are clear underdogs you meant to root for, struggling against all odds and standing when others would have fallen. Russia is just a generic villain that the author will get bored of. Just more technologically savy Mongols.
I was in Tbilisi in October last year and there were so many Russians and even places and bars specifically for Russians. It was funny since I remember Georgians as being 'famously hostile to Russians'. Granted all the Russians I saw there were anti-Putin dissidents so I suppose that's the reason Georgians tolerate them.

@@thebordoshow Ayy, looks like RUclips algorithm might be a little Rusophobe too. It brought me here.
Having inherited a 900 year old distrust of Russia, I feel this.
Love from Sweden.

As a Dane I agree. Even with all the history with the Swedes lol

Honestly the creators of History screwed hard on Georgians and Ukrainians. Clearly a Russian main. Especially when they nerfed the Circassians

@@thebordoshow I was referring to it like a game and Russia being the creator favorite and getting “buffed” beyond reasonability

I can tell you have willfully co-operated with the American empire by your waistline and posture.
