Data Paper Case Studies - Dr Victoria Van Hyning

Dr Victoria Van Hyning speaking about a Data Paper Case Study, Crowdsourced datasets in the Journal of Open Humanities Data, and the issue of precarity of data in GLAM systems. Dr Van Hyning give us some really interesting insights into the opportunities and issues with using crowdsourced datasets and spoke about the issue of disappearing datasets from her personal experience.
She is an Assistant Professor of Library Innovation at the University of Maryland College of Information Studies (iSchool) at College Park. She joined the iSchool in 2020. Previously she served as a Senior Innovation Specialist and Community Manager for Collections and Data on the crowdsourcing project By the People at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C.
