- In this video, I am joined by our new Shift RSA team member Cameron Bristow as we get to know this unsung hero. The Uno Turbo is a mystery that has eluded even the most avid enthusiasts, we are very privileged to have been able to spend a morning ripping up some back streets in this mint condition future classic.

Thanks for watching!
This was my dream car when i was young... It was sold without any markings telling it was a turbo at all and it SMACKED much more expensive cars at the time. The car had a drive feel wich is like really down to the ground.
This is a georgous car from a era of sexy cars. I have a 1984 Exa Turbo OEM for that exact reason. Best looking OEM in RSA...
Thanx guys! Love the video!!! 😂👍👍
Great to see Cameron join the crew, Fantastic video from both of you!
Loved it, thank you!
Having owned two of these cars, I can relate.
Turbo lag for the win!
I had a Mk1 - it would do an indicated 125 mph, even though it only had 105 bhp from its 1.3 engine. Lack of power steering was no issue at all at the time - I guess we've just got used to lazy palming of the wheel when parking these days.
My first new car was one of these in 1986. I smiled every minute that I drove it.
I had a brand new one of these in 1990 exactly the same as this...showed a clean pair of heels to a lot of supposedly faster cars..makes me want it back seeing this..before this i had the mk 1 but the mk2 was a massive improvement
Brings back great memories of dicing down Voortrekker road in Pretoria.
Seriously great content!
I have to say, I love my Fiat Uno Mia, I got the last Uno off the shop floor and then Uno's no more. Would have loved to have had a turbo. But I'm.on my second Uno now and he is turning 20. I wouldn't trade him for anything. Just battle to get parts sometimes.
Thee Beautiful TLB
Awesomely put together video guys.
Thumbs up
Thanx Mel 😉👍
Great video! Great cars! Well done!
That car is clean🔥🔥🔥
come on now, capping is a sin😂
@@wavykiddo7796 a car that old in that good of a condition... Hats off to the owner.
@@bekithembamatshazi7291 thanx mate 👍
Accurate review. Would have been cool to show a shot of the gauges in action, and perhaps some information about the production history, etc. That said, I realise I'm nitpicking.
We want weekly content!! Love it
This was my first car back in 2000. I had also had the mk 2, 3rd party insurance was the same value of the car haha. Turbo let up and replaced with a hybrid turbo and also added a bleed value. Was quick in its day. Wish I’d never sold it!
Early Mk1 cars were lethal - everything after that was just ok.
I had a 1991 black imperial red metallic (maroon) one and it would beat an M3 in 1st and 2nd gear robot to robot on take off and because of that car all my cars after that have always been turbo charged
a friend of mine had one of those, I had a BMW 323ì could not even compare he did beat me, but I think mine had a better sound :D, might have had him from 130-180 we never tried that :)
Such handsome car reviewers
Enjoy your reviews. Please review a kadette gte, corolla 1987 gli vs 1987 ballade pop up dohc 160i, Cressida rsi vs Cressida gli, mini gts
Special indeed.
Great stuff subbed and liked👍❤️ you should've had a modified one also for comparison and tsutsutsu sounds. But awesome stuff buying me one soon can't wait
Hi Warren, interesting you should mention that. I think we could have done more with these cars had it not been raining and had we not been pressed for time. I think we should do a sequel to this episode where we include the modified one, as the red one in the video is making epic power with all it’s mods. You are more than welcome to join us for the day if you are interested and able to.
Sheesh! Naughty little thing
I ran 240 and off the clock in my 92 model
Fantastica ! Ne ho una !
Wish to own one of those one of the good days hope that I will definitely find one that time 😭
Thinking of this for my first car
You guys are in the Edenvale/Bedforview area? Is the car new to the area, or are you filming in an area you are not generally in?
I am in the Edenglen area yes. I dont use the car in public a lot.

Push rods isn't it?
Noooooooo
@@cg7975 Definately push rods. The fire engines didn't come in turbo.
@@ElliotFlowers Not a fire engine. They were OHC
@@cg7975 Fire is OHC? I thought they had pushrods, the older engines.
