  • Hey folks,
I hope you're doing well and enjoying the last few days of summer!
The school year is in full effect and I needed a bunch of storage vessels for my classroom. So, I decided to set up the tripod and bring you along for the ride.
This video shares a brief glimpse into the glazing process. I threw a number of storage jars (cylinders) on the potter's wheel with some midfire (cone 5) Laguna Speckled Buff clay. These vessels were banded with Amaco Velvet underglaze and sprayed with Laguna glaze (gloss white inside, clear bright outside). I bisque fired these to cone 06 and glaze fired them to cone 5 in a Skutt KM-1227 electric kiln.
Off topic, I teach high school students in the LA area. Subjects I teach include animation, comic book illustration, drawing, and commercial art. So, having ample storage for supplies makes sense!
I've got a handful of videos in queue for the fall because I found a buyer for my kiln. Also, I am in the permitting process for a studio rebuild. Do me a favor and send positive thoughts and good vibes as I try to get my pottery studio remodeled.
    Many thanks for watching!
    Tony
