- We're aiming to beat every story boss in Final Fantasy IX with Level 1 characters. Bosses do not give EXP, we avoid random encounters, and in forced encounters we either Stop or Petrify enemies so they give us no EXP. We'll also use Virus later on to prevent EXP gains as well.

So, basically is it impossible to keep Zidane at Level till Disk 4?
It's been a while, but I'll explain as best as I can!
Any mandatory battle that gives you EXP outside of the Evil Forest and you can't get Virus on people (I think it's just Pandemonium) requires you to kill off Zidane so other members get the EXP, and then not use them for the rest of the run.
Why would you rename your characters? LEAVE THEM BY THEIR DEFAULT NAMES! My eyes omg.
Because he does whatever he wants in his own gameplay and if you're not okay with that there are enough FF9 runs on RUclips to just stfu.
