i like how steelshod is still like a group of weird mercs who do blood sacrifices to appease the gods
Leona!!! The White Leonscar!!! OORYAH!!!
iirc it's written Ljonskar. It's been a while since I've read through this section but I know I'm at least close to the proper spelling
@@austinryder2622 It is, indeed, Ljonskar. I'm reading along with Tale Forge's narration.
Hail Leona! The Lioness of Nahash!
Who doesn’t like the sound of that?
Ljonskar!
Tell whomever posted this they need to collect it into a book and publish it. This whole thing has been gold so far.
They are doing a long-form writeup on their website: www.mostlywrites.com/steelshod/ . The short stories Tale Forge reads are too sparse to actually form a good book (a lot of the expression in these videos come sfrom the good reading).
@@togamid My meaning was the author of Steelshod should use the material to write a book. While I definitely give Tale forge credit for being a good story teller I just think the richness of this world is wasted leaving it as is. I have read worse stories and enjoyed it so I can see this being a success.
@@jacobfreeman5444 Mostly does have a patreon and merch shop that you can use to support him.
Amen
Back to the general chaos of war
I am suprised that merchent didnt ask if you go to the cloud district often...
This one was great, the next one I’m anticipating is going to be fn awesome
This is the peak of the parts you’ve narrated so far for sure
OOOH EPIC
I gotta the chills!
I'm suddenly reminded of the song "Lion" by Hollywood Undead. Been wondering if Leona would have an alternate beast as her Sark...
I also can't help but wonder how Hrodir(?) and Drengi(?) Will react to such an exotic animal spirit being bonded to a warrior. Maybe very well? Seeing it as another aspect of their God, another physical incarnation of primal power?
that was awesome
Let’s go
I knew someone would end up becoming a bearserk or something similar, and I was freaking right why am I so good at predicting future events because dear god I both love it and hate it.
More!
Like the romans bread and circuses keep the people happy
Go Leona!!!
Heck Yeah! I was wondering what other species you perform the Bearsark ritual with! I wonder if a large, aggressive, aurochs bull would be acceptable?
herbivores might be banned. vi would guess that cape buffalo or thr equivalent would do better service and be more plentiful. we merely have w hunch but vi doubt aurochs exist in this world. or if they did are metamorphic beasts. more like the redcap. elves. goblins or Not Quite Normal monstrosities
@@discipleoftzeentch8384 Are we talking about the same aurochs? Huge wild cattle from (real world) Europe, bulls can weigh as much as 3,000lbs, highly aggressive? Not trying to pick a fight, your reply just has me slightly confused.
@@OldGreyGryphon yeah. auroch went extinch in the 1600s and havent been 3000 lbs since before the holocene. auroch having shrunk to about 1500 lbs in human history, along with being domesticated into cattle cows
cape buffalo have not been domesticated. still weigh up to 2000 lbs and are far more plentiful than auroch have ever been during human history. they're similarly aggressive killing hundreds of people each year still. they're also probably tougher considering the shape of their horns (of which toughness is far more a bearsark weapon than the natural weapons of their beastial spirit for all but like, maybe 3 bearsark leaders and gjul's followers) and the shape of their body. in addition to their horns buffalo have shaggier and thicker hides than cows, and by logical extension auroch, as skin thickness is exceptionally hard to breed for as you need to kill an animal to find out how thick its skin is. skin is likely one of the most similar traits between cows and auroch
the most important detail likely being extinction. but as above, herbivores are quite possibly banned for not being taer-enough
@@discipleoftzeentch8384 okay but, forgive me if I’m wrong, isn’t the world of Steelshod a fantasy world with medieval level technology? Why wouldn’t aurochs still be around?
I agree that Old M’bogo (as some tribes call the cape buff) is bada** but I was trying to take the local climate into account.
Still, them all being herbivores could be an issue I hadn’t considered until you pointed it out.
