    [Verse 1]
What's the furthest place from here?
It hasn't been my day for a couple years
    What's a couple more?
And if I go, don't forget the one good thing I almost did
I learned your name without words
I used my eyes, not my hands
    [Verse 2]
What's the closest you can come to an almost total wreck
And still walk away, all limbs intact?
And when I go, you'll be there
    Calling out, begging me
    I won't hear
I'll just run into the night on broken legs
    [Chorus]
A near miss or a close call?
I keep a room at the hospital
I scratch my accidents into the wall
I couldn't wait to breathe your breath
I cut in line, I bled to death
I got to you, there was nothing left
    [Verse 3]
What's the meanest you can be to the one you claim to love
And still smile at all your new found friends?
    In the same confusing breath
You draw me in and pull away
I wanted you, you wanted more
I built this life and now it's mine
    [Chorus]
A near miss or a close call?
I keep a room at the hospital
I scratch my accidents into the wall
I couldn't wait to breathe your breath
I cut in line, I bled to death
I got to you, there was nothing left

This woman was a true emo fan. She loved Jawbreaker and Sunny Day Real Estate.

Well said... after all Paramore was part of the third wave of emo (namely the "emo pop-punk" genre), together with FoB, MCR and PaTD. They were all more or less influence by many Midwest Emo bands (with Midwest Emo I mean all the 2nd wave emo bands, not only those which came from the actual Midwest. Like SDRE, Mineral, Texas Is the Reason and Jawbreaker were from Washington, Texas, New York and California, but they all were grouped into Midwest Emo / 2nd wave Emo. Actually Jawbreaker, like Cap'n Jazz, chronologically were more in the middle between original Emotional Hardcore [Rites of Spring, Embrace, Moss Icon etc.] and Midwest Emo, they kinda marked the transition from 1st to 2nd with Dear You, even though it was their last album and the previous ones weren't really Emocore, just plain Hardcore, unlike the 1st wave bands' records. But in 1994, one year before Jawbreaker's Dear You and Cap'n Jazz's Shmap'n Shmazz, both released in 1995, came out SDRE's Diary, which is considered by many the first Midwest / 2nd wave record. Even though SDRE formed in 1992 iirc, while both Jawbreaker and Cap'n Jazz were around years before them... I'd place them between 1st and 2nd wave).

The fact that both she and Julien Baker have covered this and they're friends just makes me want them to play it together somehow.
