Thank you for the tour of Milwaukee. I left Milwaukee many years ago so it was nice to see it again. So many stories and memories, Milwaukee will always be in my mind the best town on earth.
I used to live in Milwaukee but I moved in 2017 to Ohio and I was so sad to leave my favorite city until I saw this because you bought my memories back thank you.
Awesome work, dude! That rebuild of the Mitchell Interchange looks a heck of a lot better with the construction barriers long gone. I really need to get out there some day..especially once the Zoo Interchange is completed.
Very nice ride! I always liked to see other cities like Milwaukee, midwestern cities- and see how cool the highways are! Very nice ride and I like how modern the highways seem compared to other highways I have seen in my lifetime! Gets an A+ from me!
Construction starts in Jan 2021 by lake front for 44 story building that will have apts & offices. Also, the street car will go thru ground floor. The Hoan Bridge is now lit up at night and is beautiful!!
Went to Summerfest last year and my son and I drove a lot of the local freeways when my wife and daughter were doing their own thing downtown. Would love to go back sometime.
US Highway 41 is still signed along with Interstate 41 in Wisconsin. I-41 ends in Green Bay (the city) while US 41 continues north to Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Great videos, especially Milwaukee and Wisconsin in general as I live in Kenosha, Wisconsin (about 35 miles south of Milwaukee near the Illinois State Line).
Milwaukee freeways seem really cool, I knew about the market interchange but I didn't know it was that cool looking (the tunnel ramp looked scary but that'd the exceptions) the flyover and elevated ramps having the blue in the bottom make the interchange really cool looking. cool video and city. deserves 3rd place on cities with coolest interchanges. just saying.
+Freewayjim I don't know how much area typical 5 level inerchanges take.. but I'm sure that it really must be less at the marquette (i had spelt wrong in the othrr comment) than at the ones in dallas, houston, LA. and even more impressive since its located at the city centre.. unlike other 5 level interchanges which are usually in less dense areas
The interchanges in Texas are more sprawling with longer approach ramps, there wasn't a lot of room with the Marquette so the engineers had to compensate for that.
+Freewayjim that's the cool thing about it.. it was adapted to fit in such a small space whilst making it safer and with more capacity at the same time. sometimes long ramps are cooler, however in this case that wasn't possible, but the ramps and the way the interchange is set up and in central milwaukee make it cooler than the inerchanges in houston and dallas (with some exceptions)
My apartment overlooked the Marquette Interchange. A truck loaded with acetylene gas tanks plunged over the side once and exploded on impact. Mid 1990s.
THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES JIM ESPECIALLY MILLER PARK WHEN IN 2013 I SAW THE BREWERS DEFEAT THE SF GIANTS. NOW I KNOW HOW TO FIND THE MILWAUKEE VA MEDICAL CENTER. MIKE
Nice job jim for the I-94 on ramps they are similar to the 405 on ramps at Avalon Blvd or CA-42 Manchester blvd for 405 fwy north and carson street for 405 fwy south since they have a ramp meter for regular cars and Carpool users and regarding the Zoo interchange it's being rebuilt as a stack interchange like I-295 and Grand Central Parkway in Queens NY from a cross type with left exits
I live in Charlotte (50+yrs) but I'm really a small town person. But I really like to see different places. The highway architecture I think is one of the highest forms of civilization. Some would argue electrical technologies and I wouldn't disagree but it takes so many more hands to build structures for transport. From what I've seen on your channel Charlotte is far behind
During the time you left Milwaukee WI in your 2016 trip to the northwest US, what is that viridian effect in the sky? I thought that's green screen effect and surely this needs color correction.
I-94 Goes To Milwaukee, West Allies, Waukesha, Oconomawac, Johnson Creek, Lake Mills, Cottage Grove, Madison, Windsor, DeForest, Arlington Town, Portage, Wis Dells, Lyndon Station, Mauston, Tomah, Millston, Black Rivers Falls, Hixton, Foster, Eau Claire, Menominee, Elk Grove, & Hudson.
You forgot about Racine, Kenosha and Oak Creek that is south of Milwaukee. I-94 goes north and south between Milwaukee and Chicago. I know as I live in Kenosha and work near Interstate 94. Don't believe me, look at a road atlas of Wisconsin.
You're going to have to come back now the freeways are almost all rebuilt. Last leg being done now is 94 from College Ave down to state line. Should be done this fall.
Thank you, the signs come from photographs I take along the way, as does the photo at the opening of the video, I basically crop the sign out of a full landscape photo and it becomes an independent graphic/file..
Sure! yes, and hope that you got it when you shot it, forget about it in poor lighting. I have graphics templates to make signs if I have to (see last video near the end).
Are you doing videos in Madison? I'm from Milwaukee! By the way, on the right of the Fond Du Lac Ave exit is the BMO Harris Bradley Center - home of the Milwaukee Bucks, Milwaukee Admirals, and Marquette Golden Eagles Men's Basketball. They are also doing construction for the new arena.
Slow drivers in Milwaukee? I just can't, you should do next a video of the old US41 routing through that area or in Illinois (can't find that information anywhere)
While I know your routing is preplanned is what locale you are going to stop for the night, what motel you are going to stay at preplanned or is it just a matter of it is dark, or I am tired, lets find the nearest motel?
All the hotels through Las Vegas were preplanned, after that we winged it on our way back to Atlanta. On the night of this video we stopped at a Hampton Inn in Watertown SD, we stayed at a Hampton most nights. In some cases we got in a little later than I'd have liked but it was no big deal.
Yeah they tried it as an experiment, a lot of people complained and they switched it back to white. First city in USA to try yellow markings. Good catch on your part.
It's OK, I do get questions like that so I tried to get that info up front instead of the end with the closing credits, that as you probably know as a video producer, nobody looks at :)
what a well designed interchange does! once an accident happens somewhere though... then it slows down. Typically the worst is around 5-6pm SB I-43 it slows down, but that's due to merging 5-7 new lanes down to 3 old ones (south of the marquette) and the old freeway not being very wide, curves, and lots of exits/entrances. I can't wait for that stretch between the Marquette and Mitchell interchanges to be updated. Hopefully 4 lanes + CD... but I'm sure that will be far off.
Thank you for the tour of Milwaukee. I left Milwaukee many years ago so it was nice to see it again. So many stories and memories, Milwaukee will always be in my mind the best town on earth.
Thank you for watching!
What happened to your last video with white clouds?
I used to live in Milwaukee but I moved in 2017 to Ohio and I was so sad to leave my favorite city until I saw this because you bought my memories back thank you.
Thank you for watching!
Apparently you didn't visit the skank cashiers/barfly baristas at the Third Ward resistance
There's something a little therapeutic watching these videos.
Glad to hear it, thanks.
Nice! I was in Milwaukee in the 1990's and thought it to be a nice city. Clean and easy to get around in. 👍
I never seen so many twists and turns. The highways in Milwaukee are nuts. Excellent work!
Thank you!
Awesome work, dude! That rebuild of the Mitchell Interchange looks a heck of a lot better with the construction barriers long gone. I really need to get out there some day..especially once the Zoo Interchange is completed.
Thanks, yes Milwaukee has a nice collection of stuff going for it, a pretty good freeway city for its size.
Very nice ride! I always liked to see other cities like Milwaukee, midwestern cities- and see how cool the highways are! Very nice ride and I like how modern the highways seem compared to other highways I have seen in my lifetime! Gets an A+ from me!

Such a beautiful city!
Nice work! I actually hadn't seen any footage of Milwaukee's freeways prior to this, so thanks for posting!
Thanks, I did four videos from Milwaukee in 2011. ruclips.net/p/PL9D7E941548423C6D
Great song in a great city! Aquamarine is my favorite color! Well done!
Thank you very much!
Missed the Hoan bridge it runs along the lake and a fantastic view of downtown coming from the south which takes you directly to airport
I did not miss it, it was closed for a walk/run event, I filmed it in several 2011 Videos.on my first trip to Milwaukee.
Awesome you drove thru Milwaukee again! where I live.
awesome

The Marquette is a very cool interchange and probably has the smallest footprint (area taken up) of any 5 level interchange I've ever seen.

I remember that!
Love these vids thanks
Glad to hear it, thank you!
That place actually looks very picturesque with all the old buildings, church steeples, etc
The most well preserved architecture of any US city west of Cincinnati, in my opinion.
I always liked your vids, Keep up the good work
Thank you!
Great video, Jim! It's been a LONG time since I visited the city that made beer famous!
Very enjoyable, Milwaukee sure has a bunch of church steeple in its skyline. That was an interesting color to that sky towards the end of the video.
Thank you!
What a fantastic freeway with light traffic it has an "Art Deco" look and with Gothic churches in the background.
It is pretty cool, no doubt.
That's actually pretty rare, Milwaukee is pretty busy, no matter where you are.
Your killing it in 2016!!! (and I thought 2015 couldn't be topped)
Thanks, I have better stuff coming!
My hometown great video
Milwaukee looks great thanks for the video of it
Thanks for watching!

Thanks for watching!
+Michael W Stack, WHY DO YOU HAVE TO CAPITALIZE ALL YOUR WORDS AND LETTERS. AHHHH. OMG LOOL
Good video, I see Wisconsin has adopted the all orange road paint lines in construction zones like what is done in Ontario.
Thanks
Very cool! Great work as always!
Thank you very much!
Fun fact about the KIlbourn Ramp: In the winter Ice sickle form on the ceiling and come crashing down and go through windshields.
Enjoying the video thank you a another good video. hope you enjoy your week
Thank you!
Love the music and the video. Have a blessed day Freewayjim
Thank you

I was just thinking I had never seen a law enforcement vehicle in any of your videos(20+). Then I saw that one in Nashville. Am I clairvoyant😗 nope
Overall you really don't see many in my viewos, odd luck I guess.
wow those interchanges are awesome.... nice vid with cool song.
Thank you!
Just downloaded that track....nice traveling music!!
cool video
Thank you!
I really like the song on this one. I'm adding it to your FreewayJim Spotify playlist :-D
Thanks, glad you liked it!
Jim, please share your favorite playlist with us.
I don't have one, honest.
Very nice! The Zoo looks a mess now, but the one flyover is showing its potential.
Rgabjs, yes it looks like it will be as good as advertised when done.
During the time you left Milwaukee WI in your 2016 trip to the northwest US, what is that viridian effect in the sky? I thought that's green screen effect and surely this needs color correction.
It was a filter
Nice, I wanted to see this one.
Excellent video, your the best
Thank you!

You also forgot Brookfield.
+Patrick Pegasus, You Forgot New Libson and Elk Mound. There’s alot that you Missed and I’m not gonna go through all of them.
You're going to have to come back now the freeways are almost all rebuilt. Last leg being done now is 94 from College Ave down to state line. Should be done this fall.
Hi, I've got a question, form where do you usually take signs images? Do you have got specific web site or something? BTW great video as always :)
Thank you, the signs come from photographs I take along the way, as does the photo at the opening of the video, I basically crop the sign out of a full landscape photo and it becomes an independent graphic/file..
Freewayjim Thanks for the replay. So it's quite a huge job to take photo of every single sign, crop it and mount into the movie.
Sure! yes, and hope that you got it when you shot it, forget about it in poor lighting. I have graphics templates to make signs if I have to (see last video near the end).
Lovely video of a very interesting city. Is the sky supposed to go a funny colour towards the end??
Thanks, I made the sky Aquamarine at the end to go with the song title.
Well done - enjoyed it.
Thanks!

No, we just drove by Madison.
Freewayjim Aw ok.
The Picture Quality is Stunning. This Video was published in 2016. Is this 60 FPS or 144 FPS, or higher?
60fps, the same camera and settings I've been using since the 2013 Trip started, great lighting conditions don't hurt :)
Surprising how you had that Camera for that long
@@SlowedByCinnamxn Still going strong.
Slow drivers in Milwaukee? I just can't, you should do next a video of the old US41 routing through that area or in Illinois (can't find that information anywhere)
Hey Jim great video but I noticed your Minneapolis video got taken down do you plan on re-uploading it?
Thanks, not anytime soon on the Minny video, I'd have to totally re-make it.
So, this is what Jeffery Dahlmer grew up seeing....
LOL! never thought of that, i don't think it looked quite like this back then, but interesting thought just the same.
@@Freewayjim lol..
Jeffrey Dahmer grew up in Ohio
@@maqclark ok..well maybe we can see some of those roads he traveled in Ohio as well....
03:21 There aren't many highway-related things Boston isn't among the worst for. It's pretty much the Zakim and a lot of headaches.
What the heck? FreewayJim only got 52k subs? thats very less. Let's pump up this number.

is there a long version of this song.. I really like it
No, it's just an audio loop, not a real song...I've seen/heard ii used in some local commercials.
It looks like Wisconsin uses yellow pavement markings in work zones, similar to what is done in the European Union. Very curious.
Yeah they tried it as an experiment, a lot of people complained and they switched it back to white. First city in USA to try yellow markings. Good catch on your part.
Nice do you have any plans to do the twin cities?
Yes, the week after next.
Whoa, how did these downtown freeways impressively not have any traffic jams at all in either direction? Was this a holiday?
it was 7:40 AM on a Sunday, I post this stuff at the beginning of the video.
Saw the clock, but totally missed the "Sunday" part. My bad..
It's OK, I do get questions like that so I tried to get that info up front instead of the end with the closing credits, that as you probably know as a video producer, nobody looks at :)

+Jim, Why are there all VLC players on the sides of freeway in the latter half of video?
I don't know, maybe because it's a construction zone and since it's a Sunday morning, it's not active.
Does US 41 run along I 94 anymore, if not, why.
Jim please upload Grand junction to dever 2016 video. I don't know why it has been deleted.
It was deleted due to one of the songs copyright owner, however, you are in luck, I remixed it and new version of that video will be up later today.
Is there a certain release time of day for new videos?
10AM Eastern on Mondays, i do my best to be consistent.
💜
what is name of the song at the very beginning of the video right around 0:02. thanks
It's a short Apple Loop called Chelsea Loft, here is the full version. ruclips.net/video/PkOgToM-3V4/видео.html
Like the kid's say these days, It's Bangin'!!! Pretty city.
LOL, Milwaukee has its moments.
did did you did a video about. FL
I have not been to Florida since 2010 (Jacksonville).
+Freewayjim thanks for replaying
Nice video!
Thanks
❤
Love your vids but man whats with the green tint :-(
The tint on the last segment was Aquamarine, not green, to go with the title of the song.
+Freewayjim cool. I wondered also, and now it makes sense. :)
+Freewayjim I'm not a fan of tinting like that, but you made it work, especially since it was limited to the sky.
A new technique I learned how to do, some people do like more effects, can't please everyone 100% of the time :)
Cool video
Thanks
7:25 *Yellow* lane markings to divide lanes of traffic going the same way????? Sacrelige!
They where testing orange lane marking
Nice day
💜✌👀
I want the song name
I mentioned it during the video at 1:18 with a graphic of the artist and in the closing credits, can't make it much easier than that.
Песня как называется.???
