When I watched this as a kid, I was mind blown with the CGI efforts put into this, looking back onto it now, I'm still amazed at what was possible in 2014 from some random RUclipsr instead of a full-on Hollywood company.

i sometimes imagine an alternate ending where Steve won but instead of killing Mario, he gets a red mushroom and uses it with the 1-up mushroom to make a new type of mushroom stew and Steve and Mario share it

i Remember when i first watched this all those years ago and i still love it. Steve's face at 2:25 to 2:26 and Mario giving the eyebrows back at him just after is my favorite part. a decent amount of videos from my younger years have been deleted or just plain buried to the point i cant find them. i am glad this is not one of them.

Here's how this video should've gone:
Mario was shooting fire balls at Steve. Steve builds blocks to defend himself. He then digs down intending to dig out next to Mario and surprise him. But Steve ends up falling in lava instead! RIP Steve. But then Steve's 1-up mushroom would've burnt in the lava, so Mario would still be fed up
He didn't dig down. He faked a hole to distract Mario
This still holds up pretty well six years later
