    -have everything at one location ceremony, photos, reception. Cheaper on transport costs and less consuming on time.
    - say your own vows. Makes the ceremony meaningful. Have your vows framed on the wall which is really cool.
    -The bride must do the makeup first and then the brides maids. So that make up artists can fix her makeup...its less time consuming...people arent really waiting on the brides maids.
    -Book a company that's do video and photos. You can negotiate a discount.
    - Dont stress about weather.
    - Save the best lighting on you and your spouse.
    -Buy Specific bottle of perfume for the weddinh🥰..
    - find someone who is a professional at coordinating everything.
    -take it slow. Relax and enjoy your wedding day...

    We wrote our own wedding invitations, and our vows and went to a radio station with a list of songs we loved for the seating music that they did for free on a cassette! Lol. We still have it and play it on our anniversary! Idea of Songs included, Fleetwood mac, carpenters. I walked down the aisle (in a church) to "your my inspiration" by Chicago! I was a single mother, my 8 yr old son walked me down the aisle and we lit a "family unity candle" during the ceremony. After our vows, we gave roses to mom's and grandmother's, chatted with them about how much they meant to us and left to the song "we said yes together". For the first 7 years on our anniversary I got back in my wedding dress and my husband in a suit and we had a candlelight dinner and played our music. After more kids, the dress is two sizes too small..; ( (it was an 8 ) and altho I was a single mother, my husband and I remained pure to each other and had a real honeymoon. I got saved the year before our marriage. My husband adopted my son, he is 40 now, married and has our two grandboys! We've been married 32 years. Our wedding was the talk of our village for years and started a trend of having a wedding the way you and your spouse want it. Fun times! Like it was yesterday! P.S. from dress, flowers to cake and pics etc, our wedding cost 1,100 ! Our church made all the food! Cheers!

    Have a host and hostess for the wedding reception. My niece had my husband and I do this for her wedding, and not only was it nice for us to be there as guests arrived, greet them, tell them where to put gifts or cards, where to get drinks or food, where to put coats, where the bathrooms are, where to sit, what's happening... BUT it also made us feel REALLY special!
    If you have someone else decorate your venue, make sure you still see it beforehand in case something isn't right.
    A really cool gift is to take pictures before and during the wedding, then get them developed in between the wedding and reception and put them in an album.

      Had sex before marriage and even deconverted. Still married a man who only saw me as perfect (he knows I'm not actually perfect, of course) before, during, and after we eloped. Having sex before marriage was my choice that I had to live with the consequences and I still got someone who didn't care about my past, but ME.

    I'm SO glad my husband and I eloped; we're not rich. We're actual, lower-middle class, working people. It only cost $75 to get married and I let the ordained minister keep the rest of the $100 that I was initially quoted (she gave me a discount for being a veteran).
    Because she was an ordained minister, we didn't need any witnesses so our wedding was in the park down the street from where I lived at 1015 -- just me, him, and the minister.
    Because we cut out the _unnecessary_ costs that we couldn't afford anyway, we got to wear what we wanted, I didn't have to wear makeup (hubby prefers me without makeup anyway), and we didn't go into debt to get married.
    We did write our own vows, but even I won't tell others how to have _their_ wedding. If they want to use traditional vows, then they should. We just so happened to want to write our own vows.
    A few months after we eloped, husband's mom and grandma threw us a reception/celebration party in _the grandma's backyard._
    We had his family (a fraction, since they have an army of a family) and friends blow bubbles as we entered and it was small and quaint and amazing.
    Get rid of "traditional" weddings where you're expected to go into debt. Do what YOU want for the wedding, not what society expects.

    • @Chryslerdealership

      I’m asking as a 17 year old single woman, but do you feel like it’s more meaningful to not have the best wedding? I’m not even close to getting married but I’m just wondering if I should book a venue when the day comes or just have the reception at my church. That would probably be way less stressful. 😊

    • @hollywood7702
      @hollywood7702 4 года назад +3

      I honestly feel the same. Our wedding have stressed me out from the get-go. We have lived for five years together in such peace and harmony. For years we didnt even get engaged because I was so afraid of going into dedt and become miserable from the whole deal. I couldnt understand the need fo all that. I would rather save money to make a family. I would love a very small elopement, quiet, just the two of us, not even a witness, in the forest, without glaring jealous cousins, family drama and our two cultures that don't even understand each other's language. But my fiance really really wanted a 'proper' wedding so we compromised, we will have a small 70 people wedding in Sweden where I am from at our family's old summer farm, with everything salvaged and vintage. I have banned anyone from buying anything new, only fleamarket finds that can later be reused, borrowed or what we already have. Instead of ruining our guests for expensive gifts, we asked them to contribute with their favorite dessert for a great after-dinner spread. I never wanted to wear a traditional wedding gown so this way I can wear a vintage farm style dress. And me and the girls will pick all the flowers in the horse fields the night before whatever they may be at that time of year. I think it will be the best of both worlds.

    • @ExistentialIzzy
      @ExistentialIzzy 4 года назад

      @@Chryslerdealership I'm not sure what "the best wedding" is supposed to me. A part of me wanted the bells and whistles because I was told a traditional wedding is "the way to go". I mean, "it's tradition!" But tradition didn't make me happy when I realized that, more than likely, my husband and I would be landed with the debt because of my side of paid for it, they would've used that against us later ("we did such-and-such for you two") and it just wasn't worth it the more I thought about it. I just wanted to be married to my best friend (we knew each other 10 years before getting married as we had dated 3 and a half years in high school).
      Went to a site called Thumbtack and looked for an ordained minister and did ALL the research. Finally found a lady that seemed legit and husband's and I did a program online for a discounted marriage license (in Texas, the marriage license IS the marriage certificate), so we payed less than $10 for the document, and only $75 to have our small wedding, our way.
      I wouldn't trade it for anything

    • @ExistentialIzzy
      @ExistentialIzzy 4 года назад

      @@hollywood7702 I totally understand; the idea of setting up where people should sit to avoid conflict stressed me out because I barely had family on my side, and my husband has an army for a family (literally maybe 100 people -- easy, if they all were together).
      Because of our ordained minister, no witnesses was required, so it was just me, him, and the person wedding us

    I wanted to share story/ the beginning of our walk with Christ. My husband and i were planning to get married, we were catholic at the time. The Catholic religion requires so much, so i went to classes for my confirmation for a year every monday after work 🤦🏻‍♀️ only for them to tell me I couldn’t do it cause i was living in sin since we were already living together. Even though we were still practicing abstinence. I was so angry but nonetheless we got married through civil court. We stopped going to church all together but we still looked for a church, my husband started listening to a spanish Christian radio station & we ended up going to that church & havent left for two years now. There we got baptized we presented our now 1 year old little girl to the Lord & we pray that he continues to help us guide her in God’s path. We can’t wait to get married at our church & celebrate with God’s presence💗

    Nate and Sutton, I just subscribed to you videos two weeks ago and i think I've watched them all. How do I know I've watched them all? Is there a list somewhere? I've watched a lot of them more than once. I'm a Christian wife, mother, grandmother and I know of 3 young Christian girls that are getting married soon. I'm sharing your videos with them.

    Stopppp lol your wedding clip made me cry and I've seen the whole thing before 🙈 would LOVE you guys to do my wedding but not sure if we can afford a videographer. Just love your guys' work, it's definitely inspired ❤️✨💕
    I want to write my own vows too, I think traditional ones are meaningful but this is the one chance I have to personalize some very special words to my man 💗💖💞
