I've used the jungle bag as a cocoon for my hammock. It works great with the foot zipper plus the mosquito net zipper. Without actually compressing the insulation of the bag by laying on it I believe you wouldn't of avant-garde noticed it got cooler. Plus it keeps the neat off your face and eliminates the need to bring a mosquito net for the hammock. For those times when the bugs are out in full force. Thanks for all the work you do to test products. It's definitely saved me money. God bless and stay safe.
i have a pair left and right zips plenty of room for a couple the netting on ours zips off all the way round and stows in a little pocket used them camping in cooler weather in England on mats in a tent and a tarp easily meets their temp ratings the blanket thrown over adds a lot of insulation highly recommended
cuz of this channel I didn't think twice when I bought the sleeping bag and the jungle blanket Xl when I got my taxes back in feb, and I was not disappointed with the blanket when I used it around the house and on the porch. here soon job permitting ill be in the woods with them and getting real use with those products
Just in case I wasn't clear: The reason I got cold was NOT the fault of the bag. It was being in the hammock and not expecting the temp to drop like that at the end of frickin July. The convective breeze WILL get you every time without a pad or underquilt. Will be returning to this bag as it cools off, but not in a hammock.
PREPAREDMIND101 I believe you should wear less when getting in the sleeping bag so in the morning you put your clothes on so your not that cold as if you wore your clothes on when get get out you will be even colder? That's what I was taught by a hunter that go's hunting in the cold weather in California or Nevada Orgoen? It can get very cold here by the Ocean.
Jones yes I just got through writing that I live in Northern California and the weather drops at night time in Nevada Orgoen and by the red woods that is near the Ocean, I have a sleeping bag but it is big I want one that is compact but still warm enough for cold weather that looks good enough to try out if it's not to expensive? I might have to look into an air mattress because hamuck is not going to work for me unless it's a double wide I'm a small person but in a wheelchair, I've tried the hamuck but the wind, cold, mist maybe even a flash rain that's even happen to me over night the sky is clear as can be next thing I know I hear rain drops landing on my tent.
Also keep in mind that when using a sleeping bag inside of a hammock you are compressing the insulation underneath you. Which makes it rather useless. This is a reason that underquilts were created for under insulation while hammock camping. For most people, some sort of under insulation will be needed when the temps dip below 70°F.
I use the snugpak underblanket everytime out. I've tried it as low as 4°c all the way up to 30°c the great thing about them is there is a shock cord in the center of the blanket that can ajust the warmth you need. I always use it and use my sleeping bag as a top quilt and have a great sleep. Great video Chris. Snugpak gets 👍👍 from me!
The spider-war is escalating BTW. He is getting pissed at me messing with his web so he just tried to screw with me by putting it DIRECTLY in my front door at face level. Almost got me too. The whole trip where we made this video we were constantly running into webs. They're everywhere now. Spiders are little assholes.
PREPAREDMIND101 thanks I need a good small warm sleeping bag for my backpack the one thing I've been holding out on buying because to me this would be the most important sleeping or having a good night sleep without being cold. As I'm watching the mosquito net is a plus +
I have also used the both last year in June up state New York when the temperature dropped to almost mid 40s up on the mountain I put one inside the other I am 6’4 250 and usually sleep hot. This was light weight and just wanted to try it in a hammock. The temperature can change don’t be caught out in the cold lol lessons learned the hard way. Thanks again for all the hard work you put into your channel.
I concur with the 45F comfort rating. At warmer temps you may need to unzip some. The mosquito net is not supported so the net will rest on your face and bugs can still get you.
Chris, how are they compared in thickness as to a poncho liner? I'd be curious how well the jungle blanket paired with a escape bivi would be. Good stuff n God bless.
This will probably be a fast seller and I just got it so I'm not ready to put up a video... But check out this new Bark River Marauder-1 and see if it floats your boat. Pic on Instagram for size. dlt.link/2vgnDdt
Thank you for this video. Your experience confirms my long-held belief: No underquilt generally spells discomfort in all but the warmest conditions. I never hang without my UQ. Admittedly, I need more insulation than the average guy. Again, thanks for this video.
The mosquito netting is useless with out a support system to keep it off your face. Ask me how I know. No, don’t. I also have a SnugPack Cocoon for hammock use and I froze MAO with that also. I was quite disappointed.
Very good review, I liked the versatility of those bags. And the idea's that you had. I like Snugpak as well. I have a couple of items of theirs . Thank you for sharing.
Every snugpak sleeping bag or anything they have with a zipper gets torn or snagged every time I use the dam thing.. and there stitching had went south also
I really like my xl jungle blanket, but there is one love/hate thing about it.. The same rapid expansion (self "fluffing") characteristic that I love... makes me hate it when trying to get it back into the otherwise excellent stuff sack. It can be rolled real neat and tightly, but by the time its 3/4 into the sack its puffed and the last 1/4 is a fight. I usually just stuff/cram it into the sack when I'm kneeling in a 2 person or standing outside my Ionosphere, but man.. its a workout and requires some technique as it is eternally trying to escape like expanding foam until the drawstring is pulled. Better practice with it a few times at home...
I have 2 SnugPak products, the All-Weather Shelter tarp (have this also in my current giveaway prize box) and the Stasha tarp. I like the idea of a bug net incorporated into the sleeping bag top
Awesome review of a quality product. Encourages me to check them out. Quick question that popped into my head while watching this: what would be 10 things, since starting your channel, are you still enthusiastic about, that have made it thus far with you?
Great review! After watching your video. This crossed my mind, I have the Snugpak Elite 3 sleeping bag. Here what I was wondering... Can the Jungle blanket be used in conjunction with the Elite 3 sleeping bad as a sleep system in colder weather? It would be awesome sleep system if the blanket would fit inside the Elite 3 bag. Infact after I watched your review on the Snugpak Scorpion 2 tent , I bought the Scorpion 3 tent. It definitely is a totally awesome tent and the best tent I ever owned! I also bought other great gear after watching your excellent reviews on gear. Keep up the great reviews I very much appreciated all you do in producing your videos!!! Thanks

Much like Chris I woke up a little cold in my hammock and Slumberjack 40 degree synthetic bag, due to some loss of heat through the bottom of the hammock. I had come prepared, and slipped on my Craghoppers packable down jacket, and went back to sleep for a few hours. The best way to sleep out in the wild, is in a hammock during cold weather, as long as you have a way to stay warm! I have been out in South Florida on other adventures, and it was so cold that I had to stay near my campfire that I had to stoke every few hours just to stay warm. Yes, South Florida can be hot and muggy, but it can get cold too!

Chris what's up brother? Great job as always how would this bag work for me? I'm a pretty large guy think "Hodor" lol if you watch Game of Thrones! Anyway I'm 6'4 like 375+ let me know cause I love that facenet design!!! Thanks again bro!!!! Dan
you should check out a Carinthia Tropen i you get the chance it is great for the temperature you encountered, it is just a bit warmer than the jungle bag. And the qualety is grat.
Ive never slept in a hammock but if I were you I'd of had that recently reviewed camp cot with topper etc then the snugpack to try out, you probably wouldn't have been up at 4am.

Hey Chris!Although it's rated as a 45o,I'd say it's a 50o bag,even a 52o.I wasn't feeling comfortable at around 47o with a foam mat.Other than that,great lightweight,good quality,nice feel sleeping bag.
7:14 Why on Earth would you store snacks on the inside of a sleeping bag when you're sleeping outside? LMAO! You may want to stick to playing with knives Bro, or at least glance at a Cub Scout manual.
I always take a silk liner bag as it takes up next to no space but increases any sleeping bag low rating by 20%
I've used the jungle bag as a cocoon for my hammock. It works great with the foot zipper plus the mosquito net zipper. Without actually compressing the insulation of the bag by laying on it I believe you wouldn't of avant-garde noticed it got cooler. Sorry for auto type it was suppose to be even not avant-garde.
Thanks, I been looking at it and thinking maybe it can be used as a cocoon. Good to know it can.
I still use my snugpack sleeping bag liner and under blanket for the hammock. Great gear, love it.
i have a pair left and right zips
plenty of room for a couple
the netting on ours zips off all the way round and stows in a little pocket
used them camping in cooler weather in England
on mats in a tent and a tarp
easily meets their temp ratings
the blanket thrown over adds a lot of insulation
highly recommended
cuz of this channel I didn't think twice when I bought the sleeping bag and the jungle blanket Xl when I got my taxes back in feb, and I was not disappointed with the blanket when I used it around the house and on the porch. here soon job permitting ill be in the woods with them and getting real use with those products
You can zip 2 jungle bags together for a "double wide" sleeping bag.
Just in case I wasn't clear: The reason I got cold was NOT the fault of the bag. It was being in the hammock and not expecting the temp to drop like that at the end of frickin July. Snugpak makes a really good under quilt for hammocks. Works great!
I have the snugpak cocoon it works great in the winter for hammock camping!!!
Snugpak makes some of the best products out there...the Scopian 3 is one the best tents ive ever had!
they do make an xl jungle blanket...
The spider-war is escalating BTW. He is getting pissed at me messing with his web so he just tried to screw with me by putting it DIRECTLY in my front door at face level. Almost got me too. You need that flame thrower to sort the spiders 😂

Stephen O'shea I improvised one. F***er set up his web at face level across the sidewalk this time. Now he's well done.
PREPAREDMIND101 that's the way!!
Both are way too small & not waterproof. 6'3 230lbs
I love my jungle bag! Perfect light Sumer bag, buy 2 and zip them together for 2 person bag!
Thanks, I been wondering if it was possible to zip two together. now I know.
I have also used the both last year in June up state New York when the temperature dropped to almost mid 40s up on the mountain I put one inside the other I am 6’4 250 and usually sleep hot. Hey Chris great video. Is there a way to get the original jess-x knife...not the hollow grind crap?
I concur with the 45F comfort rating. At warmer temps you may need to unzip some. The mosquito net is not supported so the net will rest on your face and bugs can still get you.
How breathable are they, or do they make you sweat?

Great review Chris. I wonder how the Jungle Bag would pair with a 2Gosystems V3 thermal Bivvy ???
The mosquito netting is useless with out a support system to keep it off your face. Ask me how I know. No, don’t. I also have a SnugPack Cocoon for hammock use and I froze MAO with that also. I was quite disappointed.
I have this bag and the Snugpac Elite 5, which is a cold weather bag. For super cold weather I use a Kifaru -20 bag.
Very good review, I liked the versatility of those bags.
And the idea's that you had.
I like Snugpak as well. I have a couple of items of theirs .
Thank you for sharing.
Yea convection huge problem in hammocks
Use the snugpac cocoon every time I motorcycle camp, best investment for a hammock.
Had my jungle bag delivered yesterday , plus a furnace 8 sleeping bag liner.. buzzing but my lady as put it up for Christmas lol
I bet you could take 2 of those sleeping bags and zip them together to make a double since you can unzip the bottom
How well does it keep the bugs out?
Like try one out Kelty Cosmic 40 degree down bag what use now good don't got all the bells and whistles this has
Which one has the more breathable fabric would you say? I'm trying to decide between the junglebag and the travelpak for warm weather camping.
I don't suppose anyone has an stl or scad for something like those tarp clips?
Every snugpak sleeping bag or anything they have with a zipper gets torn or snagged every time I use the dam thing.. and there stitching had went south also
I own the snugpak hammock cocoon and man I love that thing
Great video

I loved this and subscribed:) I’m excitedly waiting for my new Snugpak poncho and liner to come.❤️🔥❤️🔥
How much is that bag
Love snugpak tents haven't really seen review much from them. I know said you have. I did see the scorpion 2
I have 2 SnugPak products, the All-Weather Shelter tarp (have this also in my current giveaway prize box) and the Stasha tarp. I like the idea of a bug net incorporated into the sleeping bag top
Great video! Great to see the blanket as an underquilt and over quilt. Loved the small pack size but great diverse uses or both.
Jungle blanket as a three-season top quilt?
Awesome review of a quality product. Encourages me to check them out. Quick question that popped into my head while watching this: what would be 10 things, since starting your channel, are you still enthusiastic about, that have made it thus far with you?
Great review as always! Any chance of you reviewing the Sigma 3 Knives? Sigmora and The Standard Heavy Duty knife?
What's the temp ratings on the travel blanket?
Hi could I use this as a 3 season bag in U.K. ?
leighton Flint
No they are not warm enough even with an inner liner
I use the Elite 2
Neeman Callender thanks I’m going to go with the vango ultralight pro 200
Thanks for the video, informative and great ideas.
Thank you Will for getting the shot of the mosquito on Chris’s forehead!
😆
Nice, like the original jungle blanket, thanks for heads up about the XL ver
you can get a bag just like the jungle bag without the skito net for $ 10.00 - $18.00 !!!
Yes hammocks! Glory! I'm out tonight thanks Chris! Ohio weather crazy

Hi Chris my Camp guru what's new
Great Review Brother.
Harbor Freight has the 4 set of tarp clips (currently) for a minimal price.
Show us how to pack it back in the bag. Some of that stuff can not easily be stuffed back in the bags properly.
I just start with the bottom and shove it in a bit at a time.
Fold it in1/3’s till it is the size of the stuff sack, than fold it in half and roll it up tight and stuff it in the bag.
Jones I've never had an issue with a Snugpak product.
you should check out a Carinthia Tropen i you get the chance it is great for the temperature you encountered, it is just a bit warmer than the jungle bag. And the qualety is grat.
Very nice thank you information
You guys are a trip what's up Will
That's Awesome nice
The bag and blanket look really snuggly.
That jungle bag looks great.
Ive never slept in a hammock but if I were you I'd of had that recently reviewed camp cot with topper etc then the snugpack to try out, you probably wouldn't have been up at 4am.
......Whoa.....

Your Intro is super annoying
You have to watch it. It's mandatory.
No interest in this gear whatsoever. And yet it's kinda relaxing to watch. Like darts, only better. Should I be worried?
