    Absolute perfection, thank you so much for sharing. What an incredible build, it looks like it's 1986 again and it just rolled out of the factory.

    I had the first gen, insanely good engine, you could easily run the speedo needle off the clock. Great to see you bring one back to life.

      Ya me too in high school. You hardly ever see these bikes with the belly pan fairing. Even my 2005 VFR doesn't have distance cancelling turn signals, great bike!

    I have not seen such a good and educational video related to the motocyclism for a looong, looooong time!!! Your work was impressive, the efforts you put in to film it all into one such creative video was stunning! Hat down! 10/10!

    I’ve always wanted one of these ever since Eddie Lawson won Daytona on one. Pretty much a forgotten winner here in the US. Nice job bringing her back to life. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Sadly you can’t find bikes like this anymore here. If it’s not the latest,greatest thing they loose interest and value and end up in the scrap heap. Or they get bought up on large numbers and sent in a container to Japan or Europe.

    This engine & design brief was the 1985 precursor to my 2020 Yamaha XSR900. I recall when these were released and Suzuki totally smoked Yamaha with the GSXR750 slab road race replica. Yamaha spent so much time on the 45 degree forward banked engine with near vertical downdraft Mikuni's they lost sight of the marketing side of things. This model was certainly quick but simply far too heavy and had lousy brakes from this era. In 2023 I now ride the bike this could have been albeit with 100lbs less weight, far more horsepower & torque, great handling and real braking power. We have come a long way in sports bikes there is no doubt. Great video but the music drove me crazy......... Cheers from Australia.

      Thanks for you comment. You are right about Suzuki smoking them. At first I was afraid for the brakes too but they are fine. At least when riding on public road at reasonable pace. Would not want them on race circuit. Would love to ride a XSR900 or MT-09 one day.

    I just picked up a blue red and white 85. The only available graphic kit is the red and white like this one, which I think looks way better. Question is, is the red a slight metallic or pearl or just a bright red?

    • @jh-tech5546
      @jh-tech5546  6 месяцев назад

      The red is a two stage metallic or pearl. To be honest I don't know the difference between the two. It is not a bright red. I got a decal kit from The Image Works in the UK but as you can see mine is a hybrid. It is a 87 with the 85 front fairing so I could not use the decals on the rear.
