Thank you so much for such a nice comment! Thank you for watching! I suggest my trip to the Badlands earlier this year! (Wildlife photography and overlanding in badlands national park). I think they have some really great wildlife shots!
Thanks SOO much! I really appreciate that, I put a lot of time and effort into the quality, so I really appreciate you noticing! Fun Fact: All the wildlife shots were shot in 6K!
I love the video. Fantastic scenery and the moose were great. You do such a god job of showing the wildlife and the natural surroundings. Keep up the great work so we can explore right along with you.
Great video, I stumbled upon your channel. The Grand Tetons are simply beautiful. I visited back in the fall in 2022, first time in 42 years I was back in the park. Definitely looking forward to watching your other videos...I subscribed!
Hi Steve! Thanks so much! I really love the Tetons too, this was my second time there and I know I will be visiting again. Between the Tetons + Yellowstone, I feel like I could live my entire life there haha. Thanks for watching!
Special for you and for us, too! Thanks for taking us along. In your last video you asked about the colors of your new camera. And while I can’t talk about how it compares to your previous camera, but the colors in this video are absolutely stunning! The warm glow of the headlights over the blueish winter scene, wow!
Thank you SOO much for writing such a great comment! Im so glad you liked it! I am really glad you noticed the upgrade in color! I was thinking I was the only one haha
First video of yours that I've seen, well done !!! Subscribed and looking forward to more. You hit the nail on the head....."Enjoy The Moment"....and if you do, you'll definitely get more out of your time, out there. How many times have I been out, moved on to another situation, and later realized what a mistake. Not any more, milk it for what you can get out of it. Merry Christmas and the best for the New Year. Cheers,
Well done! Great combination of video, music and talking and sharing your experience. This was the first video I watched of yours. New 'like' and I subscribed. Keep them coming and Happy New Year 2024! - Anthony
Absolutely STUNNING footage of both the breathtaking scenery and these incredibly majestic animals. The photography in this video is just awesome inspiring and we all thank you for sharing your incredible skills and love of nature with us ! Your work is so moving and the images are just good for the soul . The smile on your face when it’s just you and the animals are just priceless ! How lucky we are to go on these adventures with you .
Hey brah, nice video! I’m sure I saw your truck. I go out there regularly, always nice to be in da middle of da boys club! Well done, I hope you get da footage you’re looking for. Very special place, don’t tell anyone, he,he. Aloha.
Great video! I know that you won't have much time with the moose having their antlers, but you seem to be there at a great time to make the best of them. Thanks for bringing us along!
I like a built in gas stove for its convenience and reliability. I spent a year in a camper wY back in 96 before folks did that. Learned alot about cold weather options in the snowy NE. With lots of snow and gloomy days high electric loads and solar panels weren't the right fit in those conditions.
I like it too! I have a little bit too much propane, so I could of done with about half as much to use the space for something else. And I agree, the winter has very specific challenges that are hard to meet!
A 600mm with a teleconverter or without, to fill the frame like that is pretty amazing. I know how close a bear must be to do that, I know a moose is much, much larger but you still must have been pretty close. Awesome video, kudos!
Thank you! It’s actually a 400mm, so I was using a 1.4 and 2X TC, so I was bouncing between 400,560 and 800mm. But I was still pretty close, and it was a really great experience! Thank you so much for watching!
Awesome work. With you R3, do you have a preferred AF setting setup for video? Such Movie Servo AF Speed, Movie Servo Track Sensitivity, AF Area, Switching Tracked Subjects etc. Apprecate any and all feedback. Kindest Regards
Thank you! For the most part, I use the settings that came from the factory. I find that they are usually pretty good for everything. But for AF points I switch between SPOT AF (Eye detection off) and WHOLE AREA AF (With eye detection on). Everything else is set to factory settings, which have worked out really well for me. The biggest change (For me using a big prime), is setting the distance limiter switch on the lens, to cut down on the hunting.
Great video! Loved it. I'm also a small truck camper and photographer, but do mainly landscape. I camp in winter multiple times every winter. I have a question: What is the brand of your mittens/gloves? I have a similar pair with partial fingers and the mitten cover, I'm looking for a warmer pair and yours look like they will be warmer.
Thanks so much! they are The Heat Company, and you will not be disappointed! Ive had mine for over 4 years now, and they are by far my favorite. I did cut the fingers off the tips myself though haha.
Well done sir. I am envious of the rig, locations, and the gear ! I do all this at a lesser level and am just getting into the video side of things. Looks like a 500? and attached to what camera? 20 hours to JH from Fort Worth. I never seem to get past Colorado, but 2024 with upgraded everything may be the year. Your video and still shots are super sharp.
Thanks so much! Honestly, its years and years of testing things, realizing what I dont like, and so on haha. So it was a 400mm 2.8, and I receently upgraded to a Canon R3 for the video capabilites. And Its so hard! I often think "oh, I shouldnt drive that far and stay closer" but the opporunites there are just too hard to say no to haha. Happy Holidays!
The R5 is FANTASTIC! Its better for still images than the R3, but I wanted the options for video. You wont be disappointed! The R5 is currently my "vlogging" camera. I always caution people about getting a big prime, because it really limits what you can do, and you need to be comfortable with the draw backs. I cant do Birds in flight with it, I cant do really fast moving animals because of the tripod, the autofocus can "hunt" at times because of the depth of feild. But if your ok with all of that, the primes produce insane images
@@FoxandFir thank you for your input. I’m really used to a 150-600 (7d2) so I agree for my type of photography. I do need a zoom. Been using Lumix Gh5 and G9 with nice zooms for video but still gravitate back to canon set up for stills and reach. You have great skills for a youngish hobbyist 💪
The 150-600 is VERY hard to beat! Its a really great range! I have heard really good things about Lumix, but never had a chance to use it! And thank you! I am actually a full time photographer, and slowly trying to transition from events, to wildlife / nature!
OUTSTANDING! Incredible work! What lenses are you shooting? I’m thinking of purchasing the RF600. Would that be too much or is the RF400 better? Thanks and again great work!
Thank you so much! I am using a EF 400mm 2.8 IS II. Honestly, I am REALLY passionate about this haha. I personally think the 400 2.8 is the perfect wildlife lens. With the Lens itself, along with a 1.4 teleconverter, along with a 2X teleconverter, you can have the best of all worlds. With the 1.4 teleconverter you can have a 560mm F4 (essentially a 600 with essentially the same image quality), and with the 2X, you can have an 800mm F 5.6 (Same aperture and range as the 800mm with only slight image quality loss, but can be regained by stopping down to F7.1-F8).
Mmmmm bacon... Great video of the moose! The Teton's are an incredible place to be. You captured it perfectly. Subscribed as well. You are right, each subscription helps.
@@FoxandFirI know most of the place you were at, love the Teton! I’m always there in May so I never get to see the bull moose or elk all antlered up. Thanks for this, now I have to try and get there in early winter. Lol
