Hi friend - I am 23 and from the US. I have very few friends and I moved to a new city and a new job. I also picked up the violin very recently too (just had lessons yesterday). Its not easy, but I'm glad another person is out there just like me learning the violin. I saw your two-years progress video and was really glad to know that its possible. I am very grateful you put that video out there.
And yes, I have a very aggresive, abrasive inner voice too. Abrasive enough to give me anxiety and grey hairs. I'm not that good at taming myself, but the best part is that its something that can be worked on... so keep doing what you are doing!
Your progress for violin was fabulous! Be happy because of your talent,hard working,beauty and the country you're living in. Many people wish to live in such countries like Norway.😍😍😍
Your videos always manage to brighten my day, whether you're playing violin, having fun with your friends, and even just having a talk with your viewers like this video. You don't have to feel like you have to put out videos when you don't want to. Seeing the joy in your face when you post content that you enjoy making comes across in your videos and adds to your charm. You're the bet and yes, you are too hard on yourself. Perfectionism is a wonderful and terrible thing, I too suffer from it. Over time, perfectionism leads to inaction because you feel that anything you do is not good enough and you become self-stagnant. I am terrible with it and dealing with it right now as well. We are our own worst critics and no one will beat us up more than ourselves when anything goes wrong. We must fight this!! lol

Ref violin - you have your whole life to enjoy your instrument so don’t feel guilty when other things crop up or you spend less time with it for whatever reason. It will be loyally waiting like an old friend any time you return and you’ll pick up where you left off

What a nice video that I think resonates with a lot of people, even those without RUclips channels. I can imagine having one must put a lot of pressure on you to feel like you have to keep satisfying the ever-hungry crowd. I hope you always put yourself first, and do what makes you happy whatever it is, and that you don't put too much value into what others think.

I think lots of us who do "learning" videos are our own harshest critics, but I hope to continue to post, because the progress you have already made since you started your channel is really inspiring to those of us not as far along to keep trying, because it helps us see what progress we can make if we keep at it.
Also, I'm envious about you managing to get to Cremona - I wish I could go there myself! I hope you get the chance to return there someday when the stores are open…that does sound like a great video idea.

i think this is the first time that i comment under one of your videos, but this time i felt inspired to do so because you talked about self doubt and stuff and i know this too well...i just wanted to tell you that you inspired me to pick up the violin again once i saw your adult beginner progress video and since last year i even take lessons again and play in an orchestra. its so much fun and i want you to always remember that fun is most important in terms of your hobbies, espacially youtube and that you shouldnt feel bad because you didnt upload in a while :) you are so cute and authentic, this is why i subscribed to your channel, not because you upload daily videos or because you are a violin prodigy although its amazing how your violin playing has improved over the years. i wish you all the best and am looking forward to your next videos, no matter when you upload them ^-^

Agree, I feel the same way with my sound.. but as you say, a lot of practice will do the difference in time, patience is kinda of a bitch though lol specially when you are a grown up

Have you ever thought about travelling to Seattle someday? This would be a really REALLY nice opportunity to meet you in person and let you try my electric violin in the Seattle Center! Maybe this will help bring out more self confidence in yourself when you play live outside. Or if not Seattle, have you ever thought about live streaming on Twitch? You are an incredible violinist, especially considering you started as an adult with LIMITED private lessons. Also don't feel too pressured about not uploading consistently. I am SUPER inconsistent on uploading myself because I'm too busy street performing, but I got to do what's best for me and you should definitely feel the same way. Do what's best for you and then when you're in a comfortable position, you can do anything else!

Keep up the videos. Would love to see how your octave strings sound, dont be selft critical or ask yourself why your making videos you have 200k subs it would be a shame to let that go to waste. Also concerning hobbits was great. Zelda fans get instant points in my book. I love your accent & you are a likeable character. Keep it up

Hey i wanted to ask, do you still have a violin teacher? I have been thinking of getting one. I am so busy working and studying in Uni, so I haven't been able to practice, practically at all since i got into college, almost 2 years ago...and I need some motivation but also I am broke to find a teacher...How do you find the time to practice often? And how often do you practice? You are a big inspiration! Thank you in advance, and sorry for all the questions. Also, your trip in Italy seems awesome!
