I got irritated during the boss rush because I didn't know what the colors were, so didn't understand the "rules" of combat. Frustrating. I know there was a brief tutorial during the first portion of the demo, but I was mid combat and taking in other info. So trial and error got old. Had a feeling the skill tree might explain it, but didn't wanna sift through every skill to find the info, and in baffled that this info isn't broken down in the info panel where you can find other things like how to perfect dodge, parry, etc.

Yellow glow unblockable, purple glow you can use that resolve skill i think is called resolve is a special dodge of some sort. Blu glow you can teleport behind them amd punish with counterattack. The red glow i think is just indicating a combo in fact the boss would go with those multiswipe, but they were blockable.
Hello The demo tells you what 2 of the colors mean when enemies use special attacks. Yellow is unblockable Blue is blink (dodge forward) Purple is repulse (dodge back) Repulse isn't used in the campaign demo, therefore not explained

From the PlayStation review that just dropped they said the colors are indicating what’s best, perfect dodge, parry and so on. It looks really good. Probably be the only preorder I’ll do this year.
If you’re into the demon souls type of games, you will definitely enjoy this game. Just to remind y’all, this game isn’t for everyone when it comes to gameplay. It’s my personal opinion but I love the combat. You have to know when to counter strike but I say there is more defending in this game and striking at the right time without taking damage.

From what I’ve seen it’s much closer to to say Metal Gear Rising or Ninja Gaiden in that parries and defense is more important than button mashing (closer to MGR than say DMC)
I dont know why some are calling Stellar to be a "souls-like" because of the parrys. As you said, it goes closer on MGR as Metal Gear Rising uses a similar parry system and some lock on the main bosses and that doesn't make the game a soul-like, only that MGR is a little bit more fast-paced just because of the Platinum Games high-action trademark. Stellar Blade would have probably need more souls elements to really feel like a pure souls to the core. Besides, i guess we will be able to unlock different abilities perks in the skill-tree which will help us to be more faster and fluid combat-wise, but everything will be progressive in-game.

No thumbs up and no thumbs down from me, though I will agree that this will be a great game, but not for the pros and cons you mentioned. In fact, for me, this won't just be a great game, but an epic masterpiece. If I was forced to give this game a con, it would be that I wish that Tachy would have been given the role of Eve, because I love everything about Tachy and would have prefered to play as her, as my main character. Not only will I have to witness Tachy dying once, but twice. One as good Commander Tachy and then later as infected evil Naytiba Tachy. I should boycott this game for that alone, but everytghing else is just so amazing, that I already pre-ordered the game for my daughter on her PC 5 and will watch her play and watch RUclips video playthroughs, until the game is ported to X--Box (for my son) and to PC (for myself), which most likely won't be until 2026. Oh well, that's life!
It plays like Sekiro but what made Sekiro’s combat satisfying is that almost all enemies use swords or spears and those sword parry clashes are so good. Hope this game has more weapon base enemies than just large tentacles or claws.
You can in the final boss battle available after beating the demo. But, aerial attacks aren't efficient yet. This game is 90% about perfect parrying and dodging.
Glad you cover the actual story as I did. Who is eve? What is it like where she was made? Wtf happened to earth. I got a few bits but mere crumbs in the demo. It left me wanting more. More especially because you can swim. Cheers 🍻
"post apocalyptic earth is a scene we have seen quite alot in all media " Yep that's true but thing is most of them , most of the games that has this theme are mostly done wrong and so the game is unappealing imo, so in the end a post apocalyptic type of game is always welcome cause I hope this time made gratifying the experience, Stellar Blade has that theme Check, has a gorgeous protagonist Check, has a challenging combat system CHECK, and the controls are great CHECK, outstanding music score CHECK as well, so far the Stellar Blade is a MUST BUY imo!, seriously thank god for the developers for making the character so nice and appealing to the eyes and not a god damn monstrosity like the one shown in that Fable Teaser for example.
Honestly when I first heard of this game and the characters names Adam and Eve I thought to myself what if this story is a redemption in their own way from biblical times. Adam and Eve failed the world once and now they have a chance to save it and make it right. That was my first thought but I'm guessing I'm pretty far off on this one lol.
I enjoyed the demo it's pretty fun and a bit challenging which is good, but eve movement is a bit slow and here dodge and run is heavy maybe cuz it's combat system is based on blocking and countering instead of dodging after all it's not dmc and your not Dante here the combat is engaging and a lot of fun though. It's great they gave lots of customs for eve and I wish they did the same for the blade since it's the only weapon in the game different skins to change it's appearance would be a great idea hope they can add that later

Thank GOD there’s not.. I can’t stand souls games because of that one key gameplay factor. I can deal with difficulty or crazy hard gameplay but man having to manage stamina is awful to me

For example, Metal Gear Rising a game from 2013, uses a similar parry system and some lock on the main bosses and that doesn't make the game a soul-like, only that MGR is a little bit more fast-paced just because of the Platinum Games high-action trademark. But From Software didn't invent these gameplay techniques either nor Kim mention that the game was going to played the same way as a Bayonetta or Automata, they simply took inspiration from different types of action games to make theirs on their own. All action/hacknslash games have gameplay systems inspired by others. Stellar Blade would have probably need more souls elements to really feel like a souls. How do people get chosen for early demos? Do they just reach out to the game developer and are like hey I want to review your game. The company is like ok or are all the demo videos I'm watching because the demo was released early for a day and they recorded it before it was taken down?

I got to the 2nd boss fight and died sovI thought well the save is going to transfer so I went to my 1st save spot and would kill the 4 enimies over and over and unlock a ton of skills only to find out they don't actually transfer. Plus I had 10,000 of the currency. Guess I'll start on release and do the exact same thing so I max out the character very quick and not get completely obliterated even though I know I will.

A lot of the things that you disliked about your experience was that it was a demo. They’re not going to put everything into the demo as stuff has to be left for the main game. 😂
Maybe I'm in the minority. I was disappointed in the demo. I am not a huge FromSoftware fan, but I did enjoy Bloodborne and Sekiro, although Sekiro was too hard for me. This game seemed a lot easier than Souls-like games however and I just found the combat and traversal to be tedious. It looks good and seems to perform well technically. Maybe it gets better over time as you get more in-depth with the combat and skill-tree and the story, but I was disappointed as I was following this game since its announcement.
Stellar Blade Demo, is very nice game to play on PS5. sometimes the camera is very difficult at angles of attack during the fight. During a fight you have to use a lot of combos to defeat your enemy, and sometimes blocking doesn't help you defend yourself. then you'll die quickly (game over) and start over again.......
You might be interrupt the blue highlighted attacks with a gun shot or a strong attack and the orange colored ones might be only be able to be perfect parried

Nier automata was one of the best soundtrack i heard in game, i bough the cd too but final fantasy rebirth also has one incredible sound track.

Played the demo the combat is stiff nowhere near nier or ninja gaiden, not sure on the full price now maybe on sale

@@dan_dai100% agreed. I had to mod Elden Ring to add a mod that turned me into Vergil and removes the stamina use to enjoy the damn game haha.

The demo got released earlier than it was supposed to on the psn store, and it was on the store for a bit before it got taken down
