I am in Johannesburg, South Africa. And, I will be leading worship for the first time tomorrow. I have lead at our youth services, but I have never lead in the main church. Thank you for these pointers. They have pit somethings into perspective for me. I will be leaning into God, I will be myself, because there is only one me, and I will concentrate on what God is doing, not on what people think of me. Thank you so much.

I love Ptr.Don Moen's music..our favorite is His song themed at 2 Chronicles 7:14...Heal our Land ;) amen thank you for this..is a great help for worship leaders like us...in our case , we are not so skilled, we play very simply just enough for congregation to worship with us.... Just sharing this, when I started to play it simply , and rely only for God for his mercy during worship, we felt more freedom and simplicity in worshipping the Lord, this way we learned to handle fear.. When you feel the presence of the Holy Spirit, fear or nervousness leaves and the congregation is worshipping with all their hearts!!! And you're totally relaxed and enjoying yourself. There's an ALIVENESS. However there's sometimes a flat service. Happens to us all....

I don't want to cause the whole congregation distracted because of me. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 O' Lord, please make me invisible from what people may see, but let you be the One who will going to be glorified as we worship.
Year 2015 ,Ive met same face like you in the Philippines manila airport i approach the person for autograph thinking it was you and he said maybe u just look like him.
I don't have a group... But the bass player that was in charge of worship at the church I attend left and so did the other pianist... I only just recently started playing at this location and apparently now I have to sing LOL... I play piano guitar and bass for church but I never sang... Now I have to sing as well and try to lead the worship and make sure it all flows.. (also no one is there to run the PowerPoint **I also wrote down over 150 songs and have them ready on a church computer that I have to create the power point for*") and now people in church want me to teach them but I work nights and my wife works days... So the only free time I have I have to practice at the church (I don't have a piano at home and the computer stays on church grounds that's why I have to practice at church... But I don't have keys to the church but the pastor at times is out of town when I'm trying to get some practice in).... Writing all this down really just makes me realize how crazy the situation is LOL

I was called into worship leader position in my all church 8 years ago and i still get nervous and i know everyone there.I care about saying the right thing and not messing up,but we just do our best and let God do the rest.All he wants is someone who’s willing to try.And if he calls you to or he will see you through it!God bless you!!
