In this maya tutorial I demonstrate how to use the redirect tool to get a character to turn while walking or running. This is what I use it for the most while working on shots but after watching this video you`ll be able to use it for endless scenarios on any 3d object or character.
Great to see you sir back you have the best channel

Hey...thanks dude...it's cool idea..😍
Hi there, do you know any tutorial that helps with feet planting when animating walk cycle with master ctrl to move forward? I usually work with the actual steps without the master control to move forward and can be quite taxing
Animating off the master is simply not the best way to do things. In the industry we generally don't do that for two reasons. 1. It's a pain for anyone wanting to re-use that animation, and 2. It's more difficult to block in any animation where the characters entire body needs to turn (because you now have to move every control). So I would just change the way you approach your animation.
@@CheekyAnimationProductions Okay thanks, i was asking because this example for the redirect tool was using the walk cycle with the master control moving forward
@@Drummer8nimation hi, what's the problem you are facing with foot planting?
Do it work for Quadruped character like Dog??
Not the same way, after doing this tutorial you should be able to figure out a way to do it with a quadroped. You would probably have to attach the redirect to each planted foot at a time as they hit the ground.
For bending animation along path without leg sliding - use this tool:

It doesn't really matter, you can specialize in modeling, rigging, animation etc... maybe take the 3d animation classes.
