Ingredients:
2.5 lbs Shrimp
1lb smoked sausage
2.5 lbs of russet potatoes
3 stalks celery
1 large yellow onion
1 large green bell pepper
1 cup All purpose flour
1 cup veg Oil
2 tsp minced garlic
Cajun seasonings
Garlic powder
Parsley
Salt & pepper
6 cups water
Shrimp stock:
Peel shrimp and simmer the shrimp peelings in 6 cups of water and add dry seasonings. Cajun, garlic powder, parsley salt & pepper for 1 hour. Strain the peelings and keep the liquid once it’s done simmering
Roux:
In a pot (stew pot) on medium heat add 1 cup veg oil, then add 1 cup all purpose flour. Turn heat to low and mix continuously until roux is no longer grainy and liquified to a medium to dark brown color.
Add cut up vegetables- onion, celery, bell pepper and sauté in roux until veggies are half way softened.
Then add shrimp stock and mix to make sure there’s no clumps
Add peeled/cubed potatoes and cook on low/medium heat for approximately 20 mins or until potatoes are fork tender
Add minced garlic & shrimp.
Then add more dry seasoning if needed & salt & pepper to taste.
Cook on medium heat for 2 minutes to allow the shrimp to cook.
Serve over rice and enjoy!

@@Ralphthebaker YES! I made the low-country boil and it was a hit! I've made it many times before but never had a recipe! You know how momma's and grannies can be! No measuring and I had forgotten some ingredients along the way! Game changer for sure! I SO appreciate you sharing and making it so easy!
@@toddkitchens5703 oh yes!! Well you are so welcome. 🤩🤩
Good job Ralph….
Thank you!!
Never have I made shrimp stew. Made sh creole. Sh étouffée. But I did know to put in sausage it potatoes in sh stew. Looks delish. Crowd pleaser. And feeds a lot. Shrimp cheaper than crawfish!! And I like shrimp better.
Yaaassss.... what you know about that DD sausage? Man makes some good gumbo too. Just boil or put in oven before you use with gumbo get out that grease or you gonna be skimming the top for a minute!
Thank you!!!!! That’s very true!!!!
This recipe looks good also could you use 2 pounds of crawfish tails instead of the shrimp? Thanks.
Let’s go
🙌🤩🙌
Can I usesomething instead of the 🍤shrimp heads. I could not find any shrimp with heads on them in arkansas.
he said put it in a butter container and freeze it 😂😂😂😂 some louisiana shit right there 😂😂😂😂
Hey can you make a dish with zucchini in it please!
"Like so baby..."!
🙌🙌
Do I need to wash the shells before cooking?
How warm is the temp for making roux?
Set your stove to about #3
Cook a whole sickling pig please:)
Sounds like a great idea!!!
Check out the same recipe called Creole shrimp Stew on RUclips 6 years ago
I tried to purchase your seasoning but the link didnt work.
Roux 101: mix oil and flour in a cast iron skillet. Bake @ 350* and stir at 10 minute intervals, until desired color. This allows you to prep the rest.
I take a shot of tequila every time this guys says y’all!
goodness that’s alcohol poisoning right there
I miss or magnalite?
I wonder if him and stalecracker know eachother
Hey we live 45 minutes away from each other I’ve never met him in person I’ve talk to him in messenger really nice guy
You telling me that you did not clean and deveined the shrimps before adding the shrimps to your stew. Not Louisiana Shrimp and Potatoes Stew. At least not where I come from Cajun/Creole cooking. Vernon Smoked Sausages or La Bon Boucon homemade smoked sausages (No offense my opinion). I was raised was all Cajun/Creole cooking and it was always clean kitchen and clean food. Don't want a gritty shrimp and potato stew.🤔🤔🤔
Shrimp Stew is definitely Creole, NOT CAJUN. Making it for years before those French from Nova Scotia arrived bringing oil and flour, their only contribution to Creole Cuisine.
Yummmm 🍴🍴🍴🍛
