      I don't notices it at all, taking 0.15 seconds longer to pick up a pallet doesn't change much, The only thing i don't like is the addons new effect seems borderline useless now, im still going to main vecna

      pretty much + if you look at Twitter/X then you also see survivor mains want Vecna nerfed because "too OP" instead of wanting to adapt and learn how to play against him.

      ​@@PlayWithUsagi To be fair, in the few matches I played against him, Mage Hand is a bit too strong, I shouldn't have to explain why. if you disagree, you clearly don't play both sides. IMO, mage hand is the only thing that needs to be nerfed since it creates 0 counter play scenarios, but you're welcome to disagree.

      Mage hand is only broken against God pallets and against survivors carelessly throwing down pallet while in a chase. If their maps with pallets next to each other. Mage hand isn't gonna do much and you're gonna to be a m1 killer until you colddown come back.

      @@StizzY8 i do play both sides but the difference is, when i play killer i have to be sober, when i play survivor i can be drunk like really drunk and still win - i even still got a match as survivor i have to edit where i was super drunk and still escaped

    Mage Hand picking up pallets is secondary to its primary function of holding pallets, so the nerfs are just limiting its non-primary utility. It is nice to get that hot when you picked up the pallet as the survivor was about to vault (it's almost like a mini reverse pallet stun), but those situations are not what the spell was intended for.

      @keithstrickland4390 I'm sorry but this isn't funny anymore for me. Like literally if anything happens, I'm always so worried about them to nerf her again. And they are upgrading their ways. Now they just act like buffing her, but in fact, nerfing him in reality... now I'm scared that they say we are now buffing pig so now she have no reverse bear trap and cannot crouch. Also survivors automatically escape after 30 seconds into the match. I'm not even joking. Now I just believe everything is possible to expect from bhvr in terms of nerfing pig.

    Yeahhhh, ever since Alien I've realized BHVR's been playing the Bait & Switch game with chapter releases because live service balancing is a legal gray area. I literally don't buy new licensed chapters anymore, and I just use shards for originals.

    Its not as hard as you might think to balance. Just make it so that hold pallet is the main use case and pick up is for niche situations. Hold just needs to last much longer putting that pallet functionally out of play for that chase. Something like 12~15 seconds. While pickup can take a bit longer to cast with a slight slow. Only allowing a "free" hit if you are both right at the pallet. Adding stun cancels both and now the survivors just pre-drop and not stand directly on the other side of the pallet or let him hold it and run to the next tile. A bit binary but it lets both the killer and survivor choose how they want to go about engaging with it. Ring can stay as is or take a slight nerf (i think with the base ability getting nerfed the ring would be fine as is)
    Ideally they could then make his other abilities a little less shit and more dynamic to pick up the slack but ehh. Imagine if skeletons got taller the further out they flew, with a slightly more narrow arc. So you duck at close range and dodge to the side at range. Maybe 2 more seconds of flight or a slightly faster cd or even just a bit of a faster recovery coming out of flight. Orb is probably fine as is idk feels both underwhelming and useful.

      Not the same devs, devs average than a year at BHVR. The people who change killers after release are new hires and quit or are fired before they can even lan thief job

    While I'm upset BHVR is nerfing mage hand back to his PTB version, I still love playing as the lich.
    The way I would have handle the nerf is to make mage hand have a longer cooldown, so that it won't be used for almost every chases.
    Most of the time, I use the skeleton to force the survivors to crouch and gain some distance before scoring a hit.
    Flying is so useful to catch up and block a window or a pallet.
    Dispel, not only does it apply the broken status effect on a survivor if they are injured, but it's a good information tool too.
    There's plenty of strategies we can use here.

    Honestly this doesn’t change much, if the tile ends or doesn’t lead to another loop then it’s a hit anyways espically if they pre drop the pallet, it’s not like you can’t hold the pallet before they drop it anyways, plus I’ve been running 2 vaulting perks for fun and windows are basically useless

    i found mage hand to be crazy good but like you can predrop and if you have the magehand item for haste, hes gotta catch you another way.
    id much rather see addon removed/changed
    buff the haste effect of antimagehand item make it so you gotta hit the orb 1st if there really scared of him being a chase killer.

    this really isn't going to do anything. The main issue before in the PTB was the ABYSMAL movement speed of 2.3m/s after casting compared to now 3.83m/s. Mage hand taking 0.5 seconds instead of 0.35 isn't going to make it much worse. Still completely usable just not completely free, as it should be

    I don't see what all the fuss is about. Unless they're also changing the movement speed curve back to PTB values, Vecna is still going to be able to trivialize pallets with his hold up action and if he activates the hand right before the drop he's still going to be able to run through the pallet at normal speed. I don't think a 0.15 second nerf is worthy of demoting him down to GUTTER TIER. I would still like them to get all the balancing out of their system prior to sales, but it's hardly like they Freddied him.

    Genuinely vecna needs a lot of work. What other killer has 4 powers that all run on separate cooldowns. shooting skeletons then immediately picking up the pallet to then immediately flying through vaults is a lot to be wrapped all into one character to start but to do all these things in a single chase is too much. they could leave the hand as in and just fix how it interacts with a killer at stun and run everything off a single timer and maybe shorten the timer and it would already be a better character that will have true counterplay where both sides have to put in the same amount of work.

    I’ve been playing a lot of Vecna and mage hand is way too strong. This change will make it less viable on short loops, but it still gets value removing pre-dropped pallets as you approach and holding pallets up when you’re getting close to swinging. I think it’s a good change even though I was having fun with it. I mean you can still fly through windows and pallets and have aura reading in the base kit.. the skeletons are pretty good too if you use them through walls or while survivors are vaulting. Overall I feel like current state Vecna is as strong as nurse and a lot easier to use.

    I haven't llayed DBD in months. This DLC almost brought me back in. I saw a couple videos that showed how strong Vecna is. But thanks to your video, my hard drive space, time and money has been saved.

    I am glad I did not bother with this chapter lol Vecna already struggles vs any survivor with a brain and now they are nerfing him back to PTB? LOL!
    His Sphere does not damage and only temporarily counters the items.
    His Fly primarily provides mobility and not very good in chase vs anyone who knows how to loop.
    His Skulls are easily ducked, and his Iri add on reduces the number of skulls but makes them able to actually hit someone with a brain, his Horn add on only increases the skulls by one.
    And his best ability the Mage Hand is getting nerfed? It already has counterplay lol but I guess a useful ability vs bad survivors is just not fair.
    Who needs to learn how to counter a killer when you can just get them nerfed by crying.
    I knew this was going to be a crap killer when I saw him in the PTB thank goodness I only got him for his perks.
    I played against him for 2 matches and was already learning how to counter him what is everyone else's excuse?

    That's so weird. First day of live update I found out that if you predrop when Vecna is trying to hold the pallet - he will lift it back and you will have enough time to stun him if you don't run away.
    Also on middle length loops you can go around once and get back to the pallet and mage hand will end by then. On long wall loops you're probably getting hit (sometimes you can go around if you hold the loop really tight) and on short walls you can get two loops, but they are mindgameable.
    I have no idea why would they need to nerf it, it works perfectly fine. You have a counterplay if you're not panicing and it's also strong if you don't know how to play against it
    Every killer power works this way (with eeeehm two exceptions but we don't talk about them anymore)

      @hewmanbeing I don't need a stopwatch to tell you .15 seconds is the difference between a hit and a pallet stun in hundreds of different scenarios. It's ludicrous to claim that that isn't a significant difference.
      Furthermore, you're not even acknowledging the removal of Tele Ring, which further compounds the nerf.
      Long story short, they're smashing mage hand with a sledgehammer and severely weakening Vecna the moment the sales die down.

    Vecna is still strong, insta-tech makes him one of the strongest killers. The Chucky “nerf” is more of a buff and allows him to have a pretty much constant power.

      ​@@doompunk64 Xeno's M2 is literally the same as Nemesis, only Nemesis does it better. Xeno's tail distance is about 4.8m while Nemesis at tier 3 is 6m. So, why bother with Xeno when you can pick up Nemesis for the same power that is stronger? The only difference between Xeno and Nemesis is Xeno can travel around the map quick. However, what is the point of map travel if your anti loop is a weaker version of Nemesis? Not to mention you can get kicked out of your tail attack with turrets unlike Nemesis.

      @@kaister901 Bros actually trying to tell me the tail is weaker when I can just crouch the tentacle over something as basic as a window. The only thing, and I mean the ONLY thing that makes the Nemesis tentacle not shit is dragging it. Not to mention the tail is just straight damage and doesn’t need to be upgraded to actually be useful.
      I run Star map and emergency helmet and have yet to be kicked out of my power. Even if I did I could just go into a tunnel and get it back in seconds. Try again.

The only thing and I mean the ONLY thing that nemesis needs to be strong is just tiering up that anyone can do easily in a game. Not to mention the tail can do straight up damage if you go against baby survivors that don't know how to use turrets. Try going up against any decent survivor team that knows how pre position at strong loops or heck even follow you around with turrets while you in chase.
      Even if you did lose your power you could go into a tunnel? Oh wow, that makes him so strong. Oh wait, while you leave chase to your tunnel, the survivor is happily scurrying away for free and the chase gets reset back to zero. Meanwhile "WEAKER" Nemesis can just continue chase and lose zero pressure.
      Try again.

      @@kaister901 Darn it’s almost as if killers run addons to make their power better, who would’ve thought! It’s almost like every nemesis runs infection addons to tier up quicker woahhhhh
      Tiering up even with addons can take a while, it depends on what tile you’re at. And bro turrets even in good spots with those addons does literally nothing. They’re rubber turrets with star map and helmet to the point I can just walk up to them, m1 them to lose very little distance, and they just wasted time setting it up. You’re trolling thinking that following a Xeno with turrets is an actual idea lmao, you need to be on gens almost all the time. Or I can run bolt and bamboozle for guaranteed hits at windows like shack. Can nemesis do that? Didn’t think so.
      There’s more to it than what you’re trying to argue here. Xeno’s tail is innately easier to use, gives you more control, is already strong without needing to upgrade it, and stays up a long time with the right addons. You don’t have to go into a tunnel to get it back but that also means you can pressure someone else across the map while nemesis slowly walks around. Sorry but your argument is an L.

    I played Vecna a couple matches yesterday, and yeah survivors just need to bait it. To me, I thought everything went well, and got 4ks because the survivors messed up.

    I think it's completely dumb. His mage hand was the only thing he had worth using in my opinion. The fly is good to catchup with. The orb is good for info and nerfing items. The thing is though that it was the only reliable ability he had to end a chase quickly with and it's not like it a no counter situation. It's a 50/50 you either guess right and Vecna wastes the mage hand and it goes on cooldown or you guess wrong and take a hit and if you do that's on you.

    As playing both killer and survivor. I do agree he needed a nerf I feel like his spells were OP not over the top OP but these nerfs seem a bit to much.

    Such BS, I agree with how you mentioned just how long the balance cycle is gonna be. They really need to do pump out smaller update patches but more frequently then doing big ones. It sucks having to wait months for a character you enjoy to be fixed.

    I just realized that during the gameplay you got the same bug I did at 0:53.
    Unless someone has an explanation for that.
    You held the Pallette but the Surv still dropped it.
    So you effectively duplicated the amount of available pallettes there.
    WHen I got this, I thought it was a visual bug, but no, Survivors could still use the second pallette.

      Yeah sometime they are two pallet at the same time at some locations in the new map so the killer can break the first and you stun him with the 2 pallet😅

    The problem with Vecna's Hand spell is that it is overpowered against baby survivors those dont know about skipping/faking pallets. Also, Vecna was never an S-tier killer, his chase feels just like a Knight but with extra-steps like dodging skeletons and looting armour pieces.

    My first match against Vecna was very fun imo, tbh we survivors just need to learn how to adapt to changes and playstyles instead of relying on old methods. Survivors should use this time to innovate instead of cry for nerfs.

    This killer is at most B tier now, why need a nerf? The mage hand has around 40 second cool down and you need to use a with a right timing. Even the pallet is blocked for a short while, you can leave the loop and find a new loop. Thats the counter play

    I love vecna but hes definitely too strong, the mage hand nerf is fair imo. It'll still do roughly the same thing in chase, just need to change the timing of using it is all, gotta be a bit more predictive instead of reactionary, I think thats more than fair.

    Im going to be honest Choy, I really feel like this is an overreaction. Mage Hand on the PTB was awful due to the slowed effect while casting, youd get slowed too much and the Survivor would always make distance; going into Live Servers, this aspect of Vecna was changed to be more forgiving and you wont lose distance like before. The only aspect that is actually being changed is the range and the pallet lifting animation from 0.35 seconds to 0.5 seconds; and considering how the only issue with Mage Hand has already been resolved and is not being touched by BHVR, I do think it will still be better than the PTB.
    Though if I were to change his power, Id honestly buff Flight of the Damned to travel downwards the further it travels, since up close youd be able to dodge it by crouching but further away youd be force to dodge between the gaps of the skeletons, which makes the counterplay a bit more interesting than just crouching while also allowing Vecna to go for more skillful shots from further away.

      @@TheOnlyChoy Be realistic here (not trying to be rude), those are questions I cannot answer, those are questions for BHVR themselves, not me.
      But I think people are overreacting to the nerfs incoming. Obviously it will be a downgrade compared to what we had before on Live Servers, but I feel like saying it is worse than the PTB is actively spreading misinformation since it ignores other changes that happens to Mage Hand coming from PTB to Live Servers in the first place.
      I think Vecna will still be decent, I think they will definitely require more skill to play since it will require more precise timing to pull of Mage Hand. And as I mentioned before, I do hope that FotD does get looked at and buffed later on.

    It's not worse than in the ptb, 0.50 is the same. To me it doesn't change much he's still solid A with cd addons, I'm only concerned what they do to the addon, probably in classic behaviour bandaid fix some garbo aura reading.

    Honestly minus the 15 minute long cooldown, Mage Hand was alright on the PTB
    edit: this is also why i think ptbs are useless. they are just not analyzing the data they get from it and we still get multiple nerf/buff patches afterwards. all ptbs are good for at this point is just spoiling the content for everyone and killing the hype

      @@SireK0zy there was a PTB clip of Vecna blocking shack pallet, while window is bamboozled, and survivor still managed to make it to the same pallet without getting hit. And survivor didn't even had interloper

    I'm so happy that i didn't fall for the hype and still out of the game... I was realy curious about the unknow bug didn't played on his launch and if i didn't have other games right now i would return for vecna, but once again BHVR prove me that i should not trust then for anything and justify my negative reaction every time they announce changes... Is so consistent the way that things always end bad when they touch something in the game...

    Lich gets nerfed? I thought he was a shitty killer when I faced him as a survivor. The only times I failed to escape was because he camped+tunneled-which still wasn't enough for him to get 4ks if he did it poorly.

    I saw the nerfs comming miles away. But it's not just that he is a strong killer, survivors don't know how to counter him properly and lastly I see too many Vecna's going ape-shit tunnel mode because of adept/mori/challenges. These things combined just makes it a terrible encounter for survivors. I'm glad they nerf him though, I guess time will tell if it is too much.

    This quote is the truest thing for BHVR. Whatever the original design is , is always modified when you have 4 to 1 complaining about the other side. Its not a true 50/50 its 80/20 they are killing the killer side ironically every update. Gen defense is dead, gen kick is dead, most techs are dead, the only saving grace from this update was the new item aura perk paired with franklons and id put a million dollars 4 survivors every match complaining will get it killed also.

    I haven't bought him yet, since I was going to wait for the anniversary and use the extra BP to just play with Iri Sword every match, but I do think that that is probably what's going to happen, they're gonna have to make Sword basekit

    Well the lift time is gonna be pretty noticeable but as long as we still keep our cooldown speed for using it i think it'll be fine. Ring of telekinesis and the stun changes were expected though so we'll see what happens

    People haven’t had enough time to learn his counters. At most loops, if Vecna isn’t directly on your tail and lifts/blocks a pallet, you’ll have enough time to make another loop. If you’re injured and are worried about getting to loop where this may not work, you typically will want to pre-run and pre-throw. He’s a fun killer to against, it’s not an old Skull M. situation where it’s a lose-lose.

      For example, there is a good magic item that giving you solid 5%(?) Haste when Vecna uses Hand, but they just not looting up before touching gens or going for chases and then crying
      They don't understand that these items is not a gimmick (like regular items) and is kinda must have to counter spells that annoy you or if they seems strong to you

      the problem is two situations:
      - pre-run: You have time to loop, you loop, killer gets closer, so you drop pallet, the lich: A, can hold the pallet like a doctor or B, can quickly pick up the pallet.
      - pre-drop: You have to drop the pallet right away but either he holds it or he sees the starting animation for the drop pallet and quickly activated mage hand to pick it.
      the issue in both is the animation for dropping a pallet is equal or longer then the slow down for mage. hand [not to mention mage hand is slow down not a full stop like dropping a pallet]
      at least with knight and nem their anti pallet ability had either end lag[nem] or a duration animation[knight], lich has a wind up bit so does the other two!
      I do agree on they should of given the community more time to learn how to fight the lich.

      ​@eliasar5051 Uh, no? Mage Hand on PTB had a 2 m/s slowdown with a brutal movement speed curve and Mage Hand now has a negligible 1 m/s slowdown and a forgiving movement speed curve to the point you barely even notice a slowdown.

    So they nerfed the worst part of his kit.
    I guess nerfing a survivor-friendly ability that saves survivor resources is the new „Nerf the pig!“? :D
    I mean, I played Vecna so much - he's literally better if you don't use mage hand. People expect it so much, you get actual value from not touching that spell. Before you know it, most pallets are gone and you weren't stunned once because everyone predrops.
    Playing Vecna, I literally usually have half of the map freed of pallets before the first gen pops by having a survivor dropping then for me. The rest of the game is a breeze then.

    BHVR does not know how to just stop at one criticism, that’s why killers are over buffed and cannot say survivor is over nerfed (although the nerf to healing was @55) because UNFORTUNATELY thanks to swf, all the 5h1tty nerfs to perks/ideas for new perks are still strong enough that a coordinated swf can almost always find value.

    Mage hand wasnt even that strong and already had counters. It was only good on longer pallet loops cause they could just run back around and drop it again. Plus they have the armor that counters it as well

    I don't get this video at all. The reason mage hand was so bad on ptb was because it slowed vecna down so much. None of that is being reverted at all. Mage Hand will still be a strong ability. But survivors will simply have a bit of counterplay now.

    Instead of nerfing the spell they could have buffed an Interloper's magical item to counter the spell properly. Then Vecna would need to dispel the item first before trying ot use the hand. But no, that's too complicated for BHVR, it seems.

    I was under the impression that Mage Hand was only actually useful for loops that were either unsafe or had a long distance before you could get back to the pallet. Besides that, the ability if used once is gone for the rest of the chase so I believe it's a learning curve of positioning well as survivor
