• Trimming and Pulling S...
Well here is an update on how one of them are. With a growth on his knee and lame hind leg, he has seen better days. He still gets treated like a king and gets his hooves all trimmed up.

I have mules. Thanks for the content.
Much appreciation for your kind regard and empathy for the old boy. Very satisfying to see those feet cleaned up.
Jimmy, Thanks so much. Thanks for watching
Thanks for taking such good care of him.
I love that a guy like yourself is doing all you can to help our animal friends find a little comfort. thanks!
Impressive trimming job!
It doesn’t have to be pretty, just functional. I’ve set old grinders hooves on a piece of 1x6 with part of the hoof hanging off so I can get to the wall and they can stand. Love your kindness to the old guy.
Good work!! 💪🏽
Wow, what an heroic effort. Good on you.
Thanks
Poor old Mule, nice job helping him.
That old mule is living up to being an old mule lol. Valiant attempt sir.
Finally, another video. 😉 Thanks for taking care of Gods animals ❤
Good on you for trying so hard to trim this guy. Thank you for sharing.🐴
Thanks for watching!
Thank you for being so kind to the old feller. You can see he was appreciative! You were under him and he could have kicked your head off if he wanted but he knew you wanted to help, he just couldn’t help you. I have 4 mules and one in her 20’s with arthritis. Luckily we can still pick up her feet to trim, just not real high. She is on joint supplements and otherwise very healthy. They are wonderful animals.
Thanks, He’s a good old boy. This getting old thing is not fun. Thanks for watching
@@RockinJFarrier can I ask a question about mule shoeing in general? When a farrier shoes a mule should they leave the shoe open in the back and not bend the ends toward the heel bulb as in traditional horse shoeing? I see that is how you do it and also some other mule farriers but my farrier does not. I am wondering if maybe I need to let him know to keep their heels open and not bend those shoes in. I hope you know what I mean.
@@dogmom7698 yes it’s best to leave it open, for the rocks or dirt to not have a place to hang up. You can’t leave much shoe behind or the mule following might step them off. That’s the only reason he might doing that. But I size smaller shoe would fix that. Hope that helps.
@@RockinJFarrier thank you very much. I will talk to him about it when he comes next week😎
I'm impressed. Thank you
That was fantastic!!! Your skills are remarkable as is your compassion.
Thank you so much 😀
Well it was unconventional but it worked and the least pain free way you could do it - So very well done.
Lucille, Thanks, and thanks for watching
Bless his hard working heart and you too Mr farrier. You were kind and respectful to an old soul. What th hell is wrong with his front leg?
He’s got arthritis in the knee joint on the front leg and in the stifle joint on the hind. Long life and miles. Thanks
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it
A job well done
Thanks
It is easy to see you love animals.
Thank you
Nice that someone still cares
Have taken a 2x4 or 4x4 and stood hoof on it. Extended hoof off edge and trimmed. Sometimes ya want to help um and its hard.
Bentarrow, that’s a good idea. I’ll keep that in mind. Thanks
Y'all need a lift like the cow guys do it. Would be handy w the draft horses too
I have both of those. Just not that day.
Get yer self a 4×4 or 6×6 block of wood cut it about 6 or 8 inches high ..get em use to relaxing their foot on it ..still low enough but can get trimmed...I use it quite often because of my old quite client s...they're much more cooperative and comfortable...
I'll give it a shot, thanks
China should take a caring look…but they won’t 😢
They are a third world country. Most farmers can't read or write in the back country. Probably never saw any of that equipment before. Married to two farmers we did e eryrhing by hand years ago. In 79 Noah and they do it the way we had too.😢😢
So impressed with your assessment of what he should be able to tolerate. Then you have to figure out how to do it, and you do! Do you think he might be even older than 25?
Lynne, Thanks, a lot of Farrier’s would fight him and turn it into a wreck. You have to use common sense. He might be a bit over 25.
