Kingston seems to be a great place to get the history of the area. Liked the bass, would have been supper. The area is filled with wildlife and much has been undeveloped, thank goodness. Enjoy E
Good golly, I just discovered your channel and it brings back so many memories. As a child my parents and I vacationed on the “Big Rideau”, we stayed in a cottage just downstream of the Narrows Locks. Those days are some of my fondest childhood memories. In addition, the young lady who was to become my wife going on 50 years now, attended one of these vacations. She was a trooper as she was not accustomed to the “rustic” style of cottages we rented. When we married and started our own family we vacationed with our son in Gananoque, staying in less “rustic’ lodging. She particularly enjoyed the Gananoque Inn. On days we were not on the water we visited Kingston. A marvelous small city. Several years ago I rode my Harley from Renfrew Park in South central PA to Renfrew Canada as a fund raising event for the local Cancer Society, staying in Gananoque and visiting Kingston while on the trip. All of this preamble is to say I wish you a pleasant and safe loop, I will eagerly follow your channel and your adventures. I know you will have some excitement, see magnificent scenes have a few boat issues - after all it IS a boat. May all your waters be calm.
Hello and thank you for your story of memories! We also have many childhood cottage memories and love Big Rideau Lake... our favourite lake on the Rideau Canal. For many years, we visited places like Westport regularly to see the boats and hoped one day to own a "big boat". We know we will have issues along the way, but isn't that what makes a good story? Stay tuned for more boat projects...
@@staycool123 I remember Westport well. We would travel from PA all night. Breakfast was in Gananoque and we would get to the cottage about 10 or 11. The adults would take a nap and we would get groceries in the PM in Westport. What great fun.
Love your videos of your trip!! We bought a Californian 42’ LRC this year (in San Diego)… we live in Minneapolis, and have the Great Loop on our bucket list! I’d love to know how you set up your SOLAR, as I’m researching it… esp the rack that you’ve got rigged up. Also - we love your Davit - can you tell us who Mfg is?
Hi guys. I'm really enjoying your videos. I have a feeling that music might have been a large part of your "other" life. You know, before boating. I left a comment on your first video about hose clamps which could have been taken as a negative so I want to make sure you know that I really enjoyed the choice of back ground music especially the classical piano. Question: were either or both of you professors? The reason I ask is because Rachael presents her commentary as someone very comfortable with public speaking. Oh well! I'll close for now. That really is a beautiful boat and perfect for the Loop. Semper Fi.
Hi Tom, thanks for your kind words. Neither of us were professors but we enjoy exploring and learning about new places. I (Rachel) studied classical piano through childhood and have incorporated some of my own playing in the videos. Never saw the comment about the clamps(?) so no worries. Thanks for following our journey!😎

Kingston is a great place to visit with close access to the St. Lawrence and the Thousand Islands (like Cedar Island). Thanks again for watching!
Looks like you are having lots of fun. Nice Bass, love the camera work Rachel.
Thanks Ben! And thanks for following along! 😎
Thanks for showing how beautiful it is along the waterways of Canada.
We feel fortunate to live in a country with such beautiful waterways.😎🇨🇦

Thanks for sharing! Fun adventures and great to see Kingston. Looking forward to a tour of the boat… hint, hint! 😉
Thanks for following along Karen! Stayed tuned for a boat tour coming out soon. 😎
Nice flags at the marina! Cedar Island looks lovely ☺️
Thanks Lauren! The flags are pretty and we love Cedar Island!
I just discovered your channel yesterday. I like your style. My trawler is on the Chesapeake Bay, but I'm hoping to start the Loop before very long.
Thanks for your comment John! We look forward to boating the Chesapeake next year!😎
@@staycool123 Make sure your air con is in good nick!
Good to know 👍🏻
Loving the journey!
Wow you biked so far! 💪
Thanks Elaine! Yeah! We got our exercise that day! Folding bikes allow us to get farther.😎
Great video log of your journey! Nice descriptions of the places you visit. Good to see Kingston again where we spent our first year in Canada.
Thanks! And glad you’re enjoying the videos. Kingston is a lovely city and great area for boating.

Does one have to pay mooring or dock fees for dinghies?
Great video. Fun to see Kingston again.
Good question James! As long as the dinghy is on the back of the boat there is no extra fee.
@@staycool123 ah! I meant when you ashore somewhere like Kingston :)
Yes a nominal fee for day docking.
