lots of people say that business owners won't share their data with strangers on the internet. Can I, as a data analyst, find freelancing opportunities in data field as you suggested?
I believe there are freelancing opportunities in most fields which you can discover by seeing open job and project listings. It's common practice for clients to have you sign an NDA before they share any data with you.
After watching this video, I decided to take Social Media Management lessons. Thank goodness that I was properly directed. Now I am working with 3 high paying clients.
No it does not mean that! These are selected from a report Upwork released, but it doesn’t mean there aren’t tons of other services freelancers are making money from online.
Offering multiple skills is never a bad thing. But ideally, you can bundle similar skills or complimentary skills together as a service so you can charge higher rates and land more long-term projects. What skills are you thinking about?
Go on Upwork and search for social media marketing jobs. There’s tons of them posted daily. You can also build up your own personal brand on social media and promote your services there after you’ve given our value
I appreciate the input. You are definitely correct, translators are another in-demand freelance skill. There are so many that I couldn't include them all here but if you have the ability to translate that could be a great path for you as a freelancer.
Never quit your job or abandon your first income stream until you have built a side-hustle that earns the same amount or more than your job. That's my opinion
@@romanmunar Yeah, I've done a lot of work within digital marketing over the past 5+ years. Lately I have specialized in SEM specifically (Search Engine Marketing / PPC Advertising). How about you?
@@PaulMendes I'm thinking about doing freelance full time because my country is mandating going back to the office. I'm just not sure If I can compete with the price people offer. I just saw that $50 a day is the norm in software engineering freelancing. Too low for me
Im just starting to look into freelancing. Im really good at art, and understanding a customer's "vision", but i dont really know where to start as far as graphic design. Does anyone recommend getting an LLC before you start? Or diving in and forming an LLC as you grow?
Thanks for reaching out! Please note that I cannot give specific legal advice. It's always a good idea to consult with an accountant or lawyer for personalized advice that takes into account your specific circumstances. In general, forming an LLC (Limited Liability Company) can provide some benefits to freelancers, such as personal liability protection and potential tax advantages. However, it's not necessary to form an LLC right away, especially if you're just starting out. As a beginner in freelancing, you can start by building your portfolio, developing your skills, and finding clients. You can work as a sole proprietor initially and then decide later whether to form an LLC as you grow your business. When you're ready to form an LLC, you should research the requirements and costs involved in your state or country. You may need to file paperwork, pay fees, and comply with certain regulations. An accountant or lawyer can help you with this process. It's also important to note that forming an LLC is just one aspect of setting up a successful freelance business. You'll also need to consider marketing, pricing, contracts, and other business aspects. You can find resources online and seek advice from other freelancers to help you navigate these areas.
An attorney on RUclips suggested you don’t need an LLC when you start out. Because, you have no consistent income coming in yet. Additionally, you have a lot of fees with filing an LLC, yet no income coming in yet
There are tons of opportunities out there. Software development is definitely in demand so I encourage you to search on freelance platforms like Upwork for whichever skill interests you the most and you will find job postings.
Digital artists are for sure in demand as well! I have seen them referred more commonly to graphic designers. Is that the same skill set you are talking about?
@@PaulMendes In a way but different field..Digital artist deals with arts and mostly concept/game related designs while designers are more into marketing and visuals.
@@3DRamenArt @Seventh Dawn Thanks for the clarification. I have seen a good number of those type of job posts as well. While it may not be as in-demand as a more general marketing graphic designer, if that is your passion then by all means pursue it!
@@PaulMendes ahh yeah i'm a top rated graphic designer and multimedia specialist at upwork..its my bread and butter. That's where i started..now i own an agency of my own :)

These are stats released by Upwork and just averages. The true earning potential is based on a variety of different factors such as your location, background experience, level of expertise, etc.
The rate for web development and programming seems LUDICROUSLY LOW…. absolutely ridiculous and insulting to programmers; the amount of time, energy, learning and practice that it takes to learn these skills is undoubtedly more than every other job mentioned in this video. Sad.
These are average income statistics directly from an Upwork report which is linked in the bio. There of course are going to be those that have worked their way up to earning more than stated
@@hadafoxer9563 I suggest doing some market research on that. You can search for those services on top freelancing sites as well as job boards and see which types of projects are being posted and how many there are.
Hi there, it's very difficult to help you get work because I don't know anything about you. I recommend you start with the basics and begin analyzing exactly where your weaknesses are that you can improve upon. From there start to double down on your strengths and what you do well. Keep learning and never stop moving towards your goals.
You have to analyze where you can improve. Can you add more case studies to your profile? Are your proposals engaging and showcase that you can add value to the client and solve their problem? Have you sent out enough proposals to play the numbers game? Are you applying to jobs soon after they are posted? Or are you waiting until they have 20+ proposals? There are a lot of factors that go into landing clients on Upwork but I suggest you begin to identify where you can improve then begin making changes and tweaks to get there. Another thing you can do is include a video of yourself and attach it to each job proposal explaining why you are the best fit to solve the client's problem.
