I visited all the camps but didn't get to talk to much of the performers. It was my first time there & it was amazing to watch the Normandy battle, gave me goosebumps. Thank you for watching & commenting!
@@TheRoadAhead82 D Day Conneaut is an experience more than a reenactment. The historical gear and vehicles you saw, would fill ten or more museums, and we do it all in one place. I am a German Reenactor We do not do the political end of Nazi Germany, just the common soldier
You bet we had a blast!! 💥 I was glad the weather held up for Friday, I saw it was horrible on Saturday. Definitely want to get together again sometime soon!
This year was a disappointment. There was virtually no Kraut armor, and no Flak 88 that set off every hour. Even the Allied weapon repair shop with all the M1 Garands, Thompsons, BARs, and Carbines was absent this year. For the 80th anniversary of D-Day I expected them to pull out all of the stops. Heck, there were no planes that flew overhead. Not to mention, the weather was less than ideal Saturday, with all that sporadic rain.
This was my first time attending this event and I would’ve loved to see some planes flying overhead, definitely would made it better! And I’m so glad I was able to go Friday because I saw the weather was horrible on Saturday. I appreciate you for watching and commenting!
As a German reenactor, I was disappointed on several things, The German camp on a sandy beach with no shade was a poor decision, The bluff location gave everyone including the public a chance to prepare for battle. The C 47 W7 my understanding was the pilot recently passed away. Many reenactors could not attend due to tight money and gasoline prices. but I think all did their best to show the effort made on 6 June 1944. I had fun !
Hey thats me in the french camp walking with my mom! Great capture!
That’s great! Thank you!
Thank you and all who attended this experience. I hope you were able to visit all the camps, and especially the German camp.
