Great video and idea. Would it not be good to attach the wall 2x3 also to the concrete wall and then it can become an additional hold down for your roof when the up right supports are attached to the roof rafters? Had same issue in Port Charlotte with Ian and Ian lifted my roof sheathing. I am not as skilled as you Charlie, any idea cost to get it done? Thanks Mark

Great video. Also like the total high wind protection. I'm sure you did this for just your house..would be interesting to hear anyone who in Charlotte County can install like
this...awesome job. Thanks for the video!

It looks very sturdy and strong - but what about the water being pushed into the attic by the hurricane wind?

Hi Charles! I am in Port Charlotte so I too had quite extensive soffit damage. I was wondering how you managed to squeeze soffit into the corner of that higher elevation where it is right up against the roof. I had a hard time seeing anything up there to get it back into place. I ended up laying on my stomach on the roof to try to push it back into place, but I could not fit my hammer in there to nail it in. Great video!!

Great Video! I need to replace my soffits. I live in S. Texas, if you have any other hurricane advice, I’d appreciate it! I’d rather be proactive. I’m subscribing in case you have any other pre-disaster advice. I really liked you screw painting method. I’m putting up new hurricane shutter anchors. I’m subscribing!😊

Hi ..can you tell me where you bought the soffit. I lost one piece of soffit with Ian, and have not been able to find just a piece to replace. There has been an empty hole since. Thank you.

Just curious if you added hurricane ties while you had the soffit off?

      The house already had them

@@charlescoushaineOut of my whole house soffit I have about 10 ft on the back porch where the soffit was cut maybe a 1/4 in to short and does not hold in the lip of the inner F channel to keep it from sagging. Any idea of a easy fix without tearing that 10 ft section out and replacing it with little longer pieces. I don’t want to do that because the other sides are screwed in and are covered with the fascia trim.
