Just tried this for the first time- absolute game changer!!
Hey, thanks for your comment 😀
Really want to have a log burner, hopefully this will be the last winter without one. Great memories of growing up with a coal fire and the third degree burns on the backside when catching the radiator getting ready for school in a morning.
Hi, to be honest, i wouldn't be without one, especially in an older property. If you can source seasoned wood at a reasonable price, then it is definitely worth the investment!
@@FixitwithFowler got my stihl chainsaw at the ready.
@markvincent5241 lol, I've got an electric chainsaw and its so easy to use!
@@FixitwithFowler yeah I've got one of those too haha
Will it still work if I leave out the fire lighter?
Yes, you could use anything to get the kindling to start to byrn!
Very well explained! However: I seem to be lucky with my particular wood stove/chimney combo as both methods (top down and bottom up) seem to be working equally well!
Hi, thanks for your comment. Mine is an old wood burner model and we always struggled with the glass going black and a big build up of smoke in the stove. For us it has been a game changer.
@@FixitwithFowler Absolutely! Got to do what works best for your situation!
@yamaniyama5940 yes definitely!
