🎼💄💄💄 ... Hello Maddy and thank you for sharing this band with your audience. You will get tons of comments to help you understand the talent here. I will try to give a short description. Both of the stars here --- Susan Tedeschi (( lead singer & excellent guitarist )) and Derek Trucks (( premiere slide guitarist around the world )) had their owns bands, both based on blues music ... it just so happened that they were husband and wife. After some years they combined the bands and now are touring legends. Susan is my favorite female singer and is a very skilled guitarist. Derek has had a regular spot touring with Eric Clapton as his main guitar player. They have lots of original music, but are the top level when it comes to playing covers live. Please out check some more of The Tedeschi Trucks Band !!! .. you can't go wrong with this band ❣️ .. 💄💄💄🎼
Well said...I'll just add 'ditto '.
Don't forget Derek was with the Allman Brothers for 15 years too. That's where he and Susan met; she was their opening act on a tour, and the rest is history.
@@buckfan1969 very true !! .. can you imagine Derek as a youngster learning from the Allman Brothers ?? .. I think his Uncle was in the Allman Brothers band. The talent in those days was off the charts .. and fortunately great music lives on and is shown to the next generations!! 🎼🎸🎼
@@loveloochay Derek's uncle was Butch Trucks; one of the two original drummers in ABB. There's a YT clip out there of Trucks at about age 12 playing 'Layla' with the opening act before a Brothers concert. It's awesome.
IMO, they are the best American touring band working today. You should check out their song "Anyhow," and their cover of The Lovin' Spoonful's "Darling Be Home Soon."
Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks have been married for 23 years and they have made beautiful music together 🔥🔥
They are an exceptionally talented group. Top class 👍
Most definitely
Thanks Maddy for this posting. One of my favorite bands. Her voice and his guitar are beautiful together.
No problem 🩷
Derek Trucks is inarguably one of the greatest guitar players alive, and maybe the best slide guitar player of all time.
Derek Trucks . Guitar Prodigy & Slide Guitar Heir to Duane Allman . Nephew of The Allman Brothers Band Drummer , Butch Trucks . Was asked to join the Allman Brothers Band at 19 years old in 1999 . Yeah , he's good 🙂
So cool!!
@@MaddyReactions For some more family connections , check out the MLB Record of Derek's great uncle Virgil "Fire" Trucks , who was a pitcher that threw 2 no hitters over his career in the majors .
The bass player played with the Allman Brothers also, with the history that band had, you have to know how to play, I mean really play.
One of the best songs ever, just magic and every time they play it live it's different on each occasion. Don't know anyone that doesn't love this track.
I saw Derek when he was just 12 years old in a place called APPLE JACKS IN JACKSONVILLE FLORIDA.HE wasn't even old enough to be in there. The dude was Shredding back then.He is Butch Trucks Nephew from The Allman brothers band. RIP Butch.🥁☮☘
Yeah I first heard about Derek from the two guitar builders that built my first custom guitar thru said he was amazing playing way beyond his years sitting in playing with the allman Bros I guess it was about 1988 or 89 in florida
I saw him play at Apple Jacks too. Met his dad there. Cool guy. Derek used to sit in with several local Jax bands around town. Apple Jacks was THE place for top tier blues shows back in the day. I saw many legends there, John Mayall, John Lee Hooker, Koko Taylor, Buddy Guy & Junior Wells, and on and on and on.
@@dalejohnson2047 One of those guitar builders wouldn't happened to have been Gary Smalley?
This is from one of Eric Clapton's 'CROSSROADS GUITAR FESTIVAL' . Derek Trucks is a fantastic guitarist, what a unique style he has.
I've never heard this group before. I like it very much.
Glad you like it!
One of the very best touring bands in the world. Saw them in London 10/10 .
Possibly the greatest slide guitarist today.
Derek was a child prodigy and played with the Allman Brothers Band where he met Susan, who was opening act for them. The rest is history.
You have chosen what few have - this is the exact video that caused me to fall in love with this band! They've recorded it many times since, but this is the most sublime!
Ooh
Perfectly stated.
This performance is from Eric Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festival 2010. I think the first one was played in 2004, in Dallas. And the latest was played in 2023 in LA. They happen every 4 years, or so. I highly recommend you seek these masterpiece concerts out on your own and listen to them intently. They are the best live shows over the past 25 years. Don't wait for your subscribers to accidently suggest a song from one these solid gold concerts. Most of your subs don't even know they exist.
Good as they all are, the bass player, Oteil Burbridge is just amazing here. Think that might be his brother Kofi on keys.
Yesssss!!!
Kofi, may he rest in peace, was a fantastic keyboard player and an even better flutist, and Oteil was the second coming of Barry Oakley much in the same way Derek was the second coming of Duane Allman
That was amazing. Emotional. Great reaction. I appreciate you playing music on this level. Thank you.

Tedeschi/Trucks Band “Everybody’s Talking” live ruclips.net/video/kiWbBC0SouU/видео.htmlsi=-APxJ6CRRjs72-ra
I believe that is Duane Allman's Coricidon bottle slide he is using.
It's true, an Allman Brothers roady gave him a case of Duane's glass coricdon bottles when he was a teenager.
they painted a picture?
Pronounced Te-DES-ky. Susan Tedeschi gained some attention back in 1998 with her single "It Hurts So Bad." This performance is from the Crossroads Guitar Festival 2010 at Toyota Park in Bridgeview, IL (Chicago).
Fantastic band, the best live show you can see these days IMO. This is the original lineup I believe. Susan Tedeschi is from Boston and had a solid solo career. Derek Trucks is the nephew of Butch Trucks of the Allman Brothers. He is a virtuoso guitarist who was in the Allman Brothers band since the late 90s. He and Susan are married. The bassist and keyboard players are Brothers, Oteil and Kofi Burbridge (RIP Kofi). Oteil was also in the Allman Brothers. He left this band and played with Dead and Company. Mike Mattison was Derek's vocalist before he and Susan formed this band. I've had the privilege of seeing both Derek and Susan individually and have seen this band every year since 2010 but for Covid. I have seen the Allmans many times too. All of these bands and musicians in this band and those Susan was talking about are fabulous. Tedeschi Trucks Band is on tour again this spring and summer. If they're anywhere near where you live, they're a must see concert!!
Best slide guitarist in the world
What an amazing experience listening to these folks. Thanks for this upload, Maddy. My reaction was totally in line with yours.
Yes!!! So incredible!!
Leon Russell was a piano player for the Wrecking Krew and wrote great songs for many years for several artists
👏👏👏👏 A Legend ..✌️🤠❤️
And for himself!!!!!
I’ve seen Derek with his band before it merged with Susan’s “ they are married “ I also seen him with the Allman brothers, and also with Eric Clapton who has said that he is the best slide guitarist since Dwayne Allman. I’ve also seen this Band .
Beautiful song. Wonderful band. I've never heard of them but I will definitely check them out. Thanks Maddy Much Love❤❤❤

Derek Trucks is quite possibly THE Best SLIDE GUITARIST today. At least he is to me, even after the years of playing in the Allman Brothers Band.
Those are all LEGENDARY bands. Mad Dogs and Englishmen toured with Joe Cocker and made an album of the same name. It had Leon Russel (who also produced it), Don Preston, Carl Radle, Jim Gordon, Jim Keltner, Chris Stainton and a bunch of vocalists including Rita Coolidge, Denny Cordell, Daniel Moore. Donna Washburn and a few others I'm not remembering, but did background for some of the biggest bands in the 60's and 70s.
Derek Trucks was a member of the Allman Brothers band; gotta be at least half good for that!
💌 Important Request: to _The Dinah Shore Show - October 4, 1959_ (video by Public Gems)
You need to listen to "I pity the fool"! There is a great live version that you'll love!
It's pronounced Tudeski.
Derek is the son of Butch Trucks, one of the drummers from the Allman Brothers band, and is probably one of the best slide guitar players in the country. He toured with the Allman Brothers (Warren Hayes, who he introduces at the end of the song plays with them as well) for a few years before heading out on his own with his wife Susan.
I first saw him play when he was 11 years old in St. Petersburg Florida at the Ringside Cafe. Was a $5 cover, billed as "11 year old guitar prodigy." I got to the club, which is an old boxing club with a big center room 1st floor, and then a balcony that goes around the whole. Bar upstairs and downstairs, and I head up where they had some food. Then I hear this kid play, and I'm thinking "wow...he's really good," and drank my beer and tried to chat up one of the young ladies. Then I heard an unmistakable voice, and an unmistakable second guitar playing a solo, so I looked over the rail to see Greg Allman singing and playing organ, and Eric Clapton on the stage playing.
For $5 I saw this kid, his uncle along with about half of the Allman brothers, a couple members of Lynyrd Skynyrd (Gary Rossington and Billy Powell), Slow Hand himself, Eric Clapton, and Leon Russel play with kid and a bunch of legends, in a nowhere town at a nowhere local venue.
One of the coolest shows, out of 52 years of going to some really cool shows, that I've ever seen. And that kid could shred back then.
He and his wife live here in Jacksonville Florida, and play regularly at a venue next to the Jags stadium. We don't live that far from them and see one or both from time to time when my wife and I are out and about. Reel nice couple.
Derek trucks is a master on the guitar.yeah this is from Eric Clapton s crossroads festival great concert that he puts on from time to time
Bill Fels and Douglas Montgomery from The Guitar Factory in Orlando Bill now has a shop with his son call EFG guitars
Tedeschi is pronounced with the “ key “ at the end just so you know. It’s Susan with her husband Derek Trucks on slide guitar, probably the best slide guitarist today ✨
There's no probably to the slide guitarist, he's the best, I would submit he may be the Best Guitar player playing today period.
Their entire Revelator album is incredible - at points it is like the guitars are singing. That's Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi who always looks like a schoolteacher to me and then that voice comes out - you can listen to Derek's intro 4-5 times as far as I'm concerned! Definitely one of the better slide guitar players in the world right now. You need to write the name of all those bands they mentioned and listen to them, especaiily Mad Dogs and Englishmen and Joe Cocker doing With A Little Help From My Friends
Seen these guys about 25 times. Absolutely incredible live band.
He plays that intro different all the time. Listen you can hear a Indian ragga sound to that intro.
He calls it Swamp Raga.
She trained at the Berkley School of Music. She is a fabulous guitar player too. Butch Trucks was in the Allman Brothers, Derek was too.
PJ Harvey and Bjork covering Satisfaction, live. If I may suggest.
Love TTB, Seen them live several times. Funny you say he is speaking. He has taken voice lessons to help him in his guitar playing. They transport me. More please.
Another great choice to review Maddy. Derek Trucks is one of the greatest slide guitar players in the world and his wife Susan Tedeschi is a trained singer with an almost sultry voice very much bluesy. For your next one with them, I highly suggest their song "Anyhow" which is a live studio recording and it's amazing. The whole band is just pure talent and incredible.
It’s pronounced tedeski. Derek Trucks was a guitar prodigy like Joe Bonamassa. I’ve seen BB King and John Mayer drool on stage while watching him play. He was asked to join Billy Gibbons and Bonamassa for a tribute to Freddie king, each doing their own lead contribution. He is as good as anybody out there. Rest in piece SRV
You need to watch Space Captain by Herbie Hancock with Susan Tedeshi and Daryl Trucks. There's a recording studio version. 🔥
Great song & great version of it. One of my favorites
Bet you'll watch it again soon 😅
Her name is pronounced Ted-ESS-ky. It's an Italian name.
Mike Matteson, the back up singer on the right, wrote this song before Derek and Susan joined thier bands, want a treat watch Susan, Derek, and Warren Haynes perform I'd Rather Go Blind for Obama at the Red, White, And Blues concertin the White House
Need to see anything Billy Strings,Matteo Mancuso or Marcus King. They are the 3 new guitar kings. Strings is the most talented writer and singer. Everyone does Dust in a baggie” Mancuso best guitar nobody plays like he does literally.
Great choice.
For your information. Derek spent almost 20 years with the Allman Brothers.
You're right about Derek Trucks, he's one of the best there is. No disrespect to the likes of Duane Allman or other electric slide players who influenced him, but he's taken it to another level entirely. And his wife Susan Tedeschi has a very soulful voice. She's clearly channelling Bonnie Raitt, which is fine, she does quite well.
Saw them a year ago...wanna go again 😢....sweet, smooth, loud..what else can you ask for 😊
This is old clip of them, believe it or not he’s even better now. Watch them do Layla live at lockn’ 2019.also have you listened to warren Haynes, he does a lot of covers.
This is a great band and will suck you in fast. Try their NPR tiny desk concert. Lots of fun!
Co-written, as with many of their songs, by Mike Mattison one of the back up singers.
Susan Tedeshi is no slouch on the guitar either. Her and Derek Trucks make a great couple and musical duo.
Great Vibes
Close your eyes and float to a better destination with a smile 😌🌅. Take Care ✌️🤠❤️
Susan Tedeschi is an incredible singer and an amazing Guitar player
Dereck Trucks. Well to say he’s great would be underrating him he’s even better than he’s given credit for.
The entire band has such chemistry and incredible harmony together.
Such a powerful song.
There really nothing quite like a virtuoso on the slide guitar. Derek Trucks rocks!!!!
Best band touring now they put on an incredible show. The reason Derek the slide player and Otel Burbridge the bass player we’re so in sync they played together for about 15 years in the Allman Brothers band which you really want to check out. The keyboard player Kofi, Burbridge. Are brothers. My niece dated Kofi for about a year and a half up until his death a few years ago.
Tuh-desk-eee
Love the Tedeschi Trucks Band.
Thanks for the introduction to this band. Added to my playlist. ❤

Nice!
Trucks is kin to Allman bros drummer Butch Trucks
I was there.
Oh wow!!
Great video! I saw Derek Trucks years ago before he joined with Susan Tedeschi....I think it was opening for Joe Satriani at The Paradise in Boston....really great show
So cool!!
Nice reaction. A little tidbit, this song was written by the back up singer on the right.
I love this song but I will always believe that the original album cut is the best version.
One of their backup singers wrote this song! Talent all over this group!
Great band, gorgeous Maddy. Buonanotte

She's definitely gorgeous!!
Great choice Maddy 👌 you know your stuff
The ETown performance is even better. the solo on that one is pretty transcendent.

Ooooh
I'd give it 10,000 likes if I could!!!
he sounds like Steve Vai...a bit ! at the beginning !

Thank you 🩷
Came-bridge. Like the cities.
Mad Dogs and Englishmen was the name of an assembly of musicians that played with Joe Cocker. Leon Russell who started out with the famous "Wrecking Crew" was Cocker's bandleader and collaborator. Derek & The Dominos was the last group that Eric Clapton formed before he went solo. Duane Allman of The Allman Brothers Band played slide guitar on the Derek & The Dominos album "Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs". Duane Allman was Derek Trucks main influence.
Delaney & Bonnie and Friends was the name of another assembly of musicians and singers that would write songs and play on each other's albums. You may have seen Bonnie Bramlett on the earlier episodes of Roseanne. She played Roseanne's waitress friend "Bonnie".
Clapton was also one of the "friends" of Delaney and Bonnie. ❤
@@dscotthoward7467 Yep. there were too many to list. They appeared on his first solo album where Bonnie co-wrote most of the songs.
You haven't heard of any of the groups she (Tedeschi) mentioned? Good Lord.... how are you qualified to evaluate any groups or songs?
Different generations 🩷
❤ this is a great track
I got tickets to see the Portland show in May 😃🤘
Listen to any and all of the bands mentioned.
Check out: I Pity The Fool.
She sounds alot like Bonnie Raitt. Love it.
Oooh
With a slide on his finger, Derek Trucks is the best guitar player on planet Earth alive today. Period. End of story.
I’ve traveled the world. Your opinion is valued. There are talents EVERYWHERE. Some never leave town. This I know. Peace ❤
I think she and Bonnie Raitt ought to sing together - part of the reason you feel what she is saying is that she is a great blues singer
Susan she's too short short and s I n g she's a song word
They have played together in Europe. It's hard to find videos with good audio though.
Someone need to request Dan Vasc she is missing out
@@derekpetersen7571 I myself don't care for Dan but that's fine
Gives me “goosebumps” every time I hear it. Wow!
One of their best. They played live the entire Layla album: ruclips.net/video/fuHWqBsZi_c/видео.html
And this -- ruclips.net/video/utjq6XAlPjs/видео.html
It's called the BLUES
A must see and hear in person… truly magical.
So true. The song is hauntingly beautiful live. Saw them play it at the Greek Theater in Berkeley
That was great, Maddy ..thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it!
He makes the guitar sound like a Sitar.
Derek is one of the greats.
Definitely
Great reaction!
smooth as can be
Seeing them for the seventh time Saturday night in St. Augustine.
Was there! Great show!
