Thanks for sharing this interview. In the Eighties I was lucky enough to see her "live" in concert in a small town in North-east Italy not far from home. I was discovering blues at the time. The energy and soulfulness she delivered that night swept me off my feet. Of course I immediately started buying her records and to open tapes I put together for friends just with that beautiful song (God's Gift To Women) I'd heard her playing just a few nights before. Thanks Rory.
I admire and cherish this legendary, amazing person with every fiber of my being. You see, after having heard her song "The man that I'm lovin'" , I realized that I am listening to a real living and breathing Blues legend, and that's coming from a boy who's favorite Blues singers are the real thing - Charley Patton, Blind Willie Johnson, and Big Bill Broonzy. Mark my words folks : this woman will live on to be known as the best Blues stringer lady ever to walk the bounds of this earth Bless you
Rory WILL NOT be known as the greatest female Blues artist of all time, ha ha ha . . . are you even kidding, pal? You say you love the music of Patton & etc & you're not aware of Memphis Minnie? Or Algie Mae Hinton? Clean the poop out of your ears buddy
