If opnly it really played like this, working game comms, story arcs and plot. The downside of PvP is being somone else' content, even if very briefly. Nobody has any desire to negotiate or even just pass the time waiting for a shuttle that's probably not coming. Stanton theoretically has consequenxes for violence, just the instigators don't care because they are minimal. Pyro...well lets say I'm noy yet convinced that CIG know how to do consrwuwnces! Great video, good story telling.
SHocked this doesn't have more views -- this is some top-tier gameplay and machinima. The combination of visuals and music really were top notch, especially those fly-bys of the MSR during the settlement raid. Man that looked good. The ending was also super well done with the tease of Pyro!

It would actually be really cool if the communication within the simulation worked that well. The likelihood of stumbling across someone trying to salvage your ship who doesn't instantaneously shoot you in the face is completely unlikely. Somehow in Rust, the comms are just good enough where you can interact or hear each other from a distance; there's some sort of functionality there that doesn't exist within Star Citizen, allowing for that type of fast-paced, not-sure-if-you're-a-good-guy-or-bad-guy interaction to occur. Another quick thought I had was, just like reality TV, reality is a lot more interesting when it's somewhat scripted. I would have to say the same thing for Star Citizen, which is claiming to be this random event generator basically, but it's so difficult to incur a random event that's meaningful or functional that it only works when it's scripted out and edited. Hopefully, we get to a point where we don't have to script gameplay to make it interesting.
If they went back to not losing gear on death, KoS would be less of a thing. I remember, back before 3.15, running into players at various locations and just talking about what they were up to. No real fear of death because all that I would lose is my time to respawn and get back to where my ship was. Was also great seeing people in tailored outfits that went with their style like in these machinima episodes. Since you lose everything upon death now, I see a ton of white noob suits. If you are lucky your body is recoverable and you can go back and loot it. But I have had a few instances where my ship explodes and body is not there when I go back. Fall through planet and not getting body. Fall down elevator shaft in a bunker and not getting body back. I do not really see what losing gear does for the game. There are so many loot boxes around, killing a person for their 10k UEC armor and gear does not make much sense. We are getting magic item boxes now that can hold all our gear at a location. So magic is still in the verse, why not just allow us to respawn at hospital with all our gear in a locker at the hospital. If you want to take the guns due to "safety concerns" that is fine with me. I would like to craft a armor style for my avatar and not have to rebuild it each time I die. Until then, I will just wear my white noob suit. Kill first baddie in the bunker, tractor beam his body to the elevator and loot to get weapons and armor, then complete the mission. SC was much better before everyone was KoS for fear of losing the gear and weapons they had to loot for the last 4 hours to get their look as they want.
