Butler is a top ranked regional private university. That means that it is a very known college in a certain region and regionally prestigious. Same goes for Mercer University (which I will be attending next year!). Mercer is known regionally to be prestigious, but it has a geographical limit just like Butler. (Also I have never heard of Butler before this video either, so I can def relate)
Acceptance rates could be skewed based on application size of each highschool, so even though it may not seem selective it's based on where you apply from
Starting on applications in the summer is probably the best decision I made, and going for Early Action (Nov 15). It sucked for a few months but I knew the decision for each school I applied to by Christmas.
I would encourage you to reconsider that. They were passionate about their students... and went out of their way to give students every opportunity. I think all of us at WRTV who worked on the project left our time with Butler feeling like this was a group of people who took their jobs seriously and were striving to find the best mix of students for a Butler class. When something looks unusual on an application, they took note and delved a bit deeper, even when it would have been easier to just say 'No' and bypass the student. They were concerned about bringing quality individuals to campus who would contribute to life at Butler not just filling a class with a bunch of straight-A students. They spent day after day after day... hour after hour after hour reading through these applications. This shows just a fraction of that, and honestly, some of the more interesting parts. I feel very comfortable saying they were not clowns. They were truly professional and still managed to have some fun and make prospective students feel welcome.
This makes applying to colleges look a lot more stressful than it actually is

It's not.

Well produced behind the scenes look at the process! Good job WRTV!
I have never heard of BU except Boston University !
Baylor?
It's nice to see the behind the scenes, especially after applying to colleges this year.....

Areeba Kausar yeah you can I thought ea was nonbinding
Butler is in the 60 percentile. I'm sure like most colleges there is a lot of work but as far as getting accepted, it doesn't look to hard.
Never heard of butler university
11:15 WTF kill a cop???
what kind of school is Butler i have never heard of that school
The woman at 6:39 looks like Barb ... well a little bit
After all this ruckus guys it only costs a couple thousand dollars a year yay this schools sound worser than bankers and loan sharks
I'm surprised these admission officers didn't get fired from their job after this video was published.
The guy at the seminar seems rude
Butler = the slightly less prestigious Yale
Ken Ejinkonye *Very less prestigious
My son wanted to apply to Butler but I'm second guessing the decision. Their admissions department sounds like a bunch of clowns.

Howdy
I would never attend a college that would boast Jim Jones as its alumni
