With all due respect Scottie you didn't show how to make the final adjustment you only compensated the out of beat by changing the level of the clock stand. Unless of course I missed something and if that's the case I apologize. Regardless I think more explanation is necessary.

Thank you for your tutorial. I was able to get a Perivale movement working through your explanation!

@@ScottiesClockWorld Please upload a video which explains the difference between the arrangement of gears in clock or watch with centre second hand and a clock or watch with sub second hand.

To my beginner ear the tic tock still sounds very uneven at the end of your video.
I found a iPhone app called Cuckoo Clock Calibration. (For a dollar or two)
It assisted getting my clock beat very precisely set. It looses 1 minute per week and I could tweak the pendulum length If I want.
For those who missed it you can move the pendulum on a slip clutch to adjust the beat to allow for a surface that is not exactly level.
Alternatively the clock maker can adjust the pendulum for an exactly level surface and the owner of the clock then needs to set the clock level.
Although it doesn’t take much of a bump to move the clutch when hanging the pendulum.
If that makes any sense 🤠

The movement needed final adjustment once the clock was hung on the wall. Thanks for your comment.

Thank you for making this video, much appreciated. I made a mistake before, requiring me to have a clock professionally restored. Now, instead of adjusting the pendulum's crutch lever, I prefer to just to stack coins under the end of the clock that brings it into a perfect beat. My question is, can the vast majority of German movements (eg HAC, Kienzle, etc.) be bought into beat, when placed on a level surface, with the movement still inside the case, by simply pushing the Crutch Lever to the left or the right by experimentation? Thank you :-)

Yes that is correct. Adjusting the crutch puts a clock in beat.

Somebody can help me please? I found an old Solar mantle clock with no pendulum weight. What is the minimum/ maximum weight this FSH 196 12cm. needs. Thank you from a beginner.
