See my video where I introduce these guys prior to potting up:

A list of my phrags in order of appearance:

    Phragmipedium Schroderae
    Phragmpedium Longifolium
    Phragmipedium Memoria Dick Clements
    Phrag Praying Mantis x Andreettae

I know phragmipediums aren't for everyone, but I love these guys so hope you enjoy!

Dear Diana I loved your video and feel that you are right, sometimes we see things on RUclips and we do never know the outcome !
Please keep doing it and thanks for also sharing the orchid app.
    Big hug

ana danaya thanks for watching :) . I think it's important to know when a RUclips is just trying something new or if they've been doing it for years - hard to get perspective on this forum sometimes!

Great collection of phrags! Congrats on the Cardinale spike! Yes photos or a form of journal diary is useful to track repotting, flowering, etc. I use an Excel spreadsheet to keep track of growth.
I have the same experience with some phrags growing fast while others are snails. Usually any hybrid with Besseae tends to grow slower for me.
Thanks for a great update. Enjoyed all the cultural info 😀

ResQuetzal you're totally right now I think about it, the bessae's are definitely a little slower.... Will keep track a bit more closely now!

I found it interesting to see the progress of the plants, FWIW. One of these days I'll get my first Phrag (I've been saying that for two years....). Sounds like the Cicadas are out in force. 🙂

Michael McCarthy haha I didn't even notice that sound! You know, I edited out so much of Toby and Frankie fighting and making a such ruckus I must have tuned it to the backgroynf sounds!
PS do it... Get a phrag!

All over that app, downloaded and ready to take some baby pics of my babies. Great idea. Just purchased a journal and put all my images on my computer with information... this is way easier!! Thank you for sharing this. I will have to get one of these for sure and have a go. Very much enjoyed seeing their progress. Would love to also know the fertiliser you use on these guys and the ratio in future clips as you orchids are doing so well. I struggle with getting into a fertilising pattern being new and all. feeding is something I need to understand way better.

The Joyful Orchid my fertilizer regime is all over the place at the moment! But Im rotating through my liquid stuff to try to use it up - then I will switch to Peters excel. I check my orchids and water the ones that need it nearly every day through summer at the moment. I feed with every watering at about 100-150 ppm, and flush with pure RO water once a fortnight. I also rotate through adding CalMag, Epsom salts and silica every now and again to my mix. But my PPM is never over 150 now. It's made a massive difference to the roots... They never burn anymore.. it's awesome.
I don't monitor which orchid gets what though just keep rotating and hope they all get a bit of everything ... Not the most reliable way!

I love these kinds of updates 🤩 I use the app Orchid Album ... paid ‘some’ pennies for it but it has a search function which is very handy (237 ‘chids 🤦‍♀️) i wish they would update it tho... and I don’t do the watering / fertilizer schedule either ...that’s as and when needed ... great update! I’ve only just started with slipper orchids but am sticking with leca and self watering ... it’s been 6 months ... I’ve not noticed any stress on them so far but have alternative media at the ready should things not fare well. Have a great weekend! Thank you 💝

Nina Bosse that's good to know the might be a better app out there! Haha yours gives a constant reminder of your orchid tally 😂😂.. I have to manually count mine... Which I never do it if know how bad the addiction really was 🤦🏻‍♀️
That's great LECA is going great for you. I think a lot of these different setups are more 'user dependent' than anything for their success!

Orchie Dee user friendly is correct and that goes for the app as well ... I don’t mind being made aware of exact number of orchids ... what freaks me out about this addiction is that the app allows you to put the purchase price in and there is s total value in the statistics 🙆‍♀️🤦‍♀️... ok ... I suppose I could opt out of putting in the price / orchid but 🥴.. it also divides them up into their species / genus so you have an easy overview of how diverse your collection is / images with notes and separate notes for each plant ... no... I don’t own shares in this app 😅 ... some species / most genus / synonyms are also already in the app but due to all this reclassification it will allow you to add new names to everything ... oh boy... I do ramble ... sorry 😐
