It's dumb how wrestlers are treated. They're "independent contractors ", yet in the WWE they're under contract prohibiting them from working elsewhere , which makes them employees. Employees should have a union to protect their rights. From an athletic perspective, all the major sports leagues have a Players Association, which is essentially a union, to protect them. From an entertainment perspective, most entertainers have unions, such as the Screen Actor's Guild or ACTRA. It's just the greedy, billionaire pig that own the biggest wrestling promotion refuses to be a decent business owner

Yup, people don't care about wrestlers past just seeing them on TV it feels like. I hope that Zelina will do well on Twitch. Every Wrestler wants the spot light and to get over so getting people to unionize when there are only a couple spots at the top is a tough task. Everything will just be forgotten.

I'm guessing they wanted a prominent in-ring talent and someone who is on WWE TV all the time to do the podcast. Alexa is really good in interviewing people, I can easily see her getting an announcing or hosting gig after she's done wrestling.
Also more on the whole Xavier thing his channel seems to be one of the few that is still active. Liv don't post, Billie Kay don't post, Peyton Royce don't post and many others don't post anymore. All these other wrestler channels were solo projects that were far removed from WWE. UUDD has over the years become more and more integrated with WWE though. Really hope that WWE hasn't sunken their dirty claws so far into UUDD that the only reason they keep it around is to control the channel.
Woods only streams on UUDD now, he doesn’t even have his active twitch anymore. I’m honestly really surprised he isn’t the one leading the charge for this stuff...kind of disappointing
They absolutely have control of that channel. Soon as UUDD content started getting put on the network is when you can pinpoint around the time that they bought it. Or just when they started promoting it nonstop on tv by Woods and the announcers. Vince is so particular about what's said, there's no way he just let's them freely advertise a side hussle like that. They did the same to Zach Ryder's old channel that blew up. Bought it out and it lost its specialty.

So it’s 100% confirmed that her tweet about supporting unionization, her having a Twitch account (which she’s had forever and it’s highly successful) and her recently creating herself an Only Fans where she doesn’t even use her wrestling name to begin with?!? I’m super pissed and disappointed with WWE, but I’ve been disappointed with them honestly since I became a teenager and realized how truly amazing they could be, all the talented wrestlers they ever never hired or hired and let them slip through the cracks, them going PG fucking sucked and still sucks big balls, failing at continuous storylines, missing out on potential great storylines, matches and moments, clearly not putting enough time or money in their video games aka WWE 2K20, taking what felt like centuries to respect and give the women their earned time in the ring and to be taken seriously finally and the list goes on!
CM Punk actually talked about basically the same issue he's talking about here years ago, the part about other people being able to do something others aren't. He said he was told he can't have sponsors on his gear but when Brock Lesnar came back, he had sponsors on his gear.

In the same vein that people like VKM and Dana White will vote for whoever's best for their pocketbook, they'll always make business decisions for whatever's gonna help their pocketbook best. In hearing Phil explain how movie roles get shifted to who "the office" (VKM and stooges) want is honestly just the company boosting their brands all the more. Giving a indy darling a movie role over John Cena is not best for business, putting your face of the company at the time (Cena) into a movie is best for business. (Disclaimer: I don't watch any pro wrestling anymore but I like hearing CM Punk interviews still)
I don't get it, more known superstars can only help them. They learned putting all of your eggs in one basket was shit because Hogan left. Austin retiring wouldn't had been bad if Rock didn't go to Hollywood. So my idea is let whoever can hang go as far as they will. It's best to have 5+ superstars so if one leaves or gets hurt, you're not out on your ass. They made the same mistake with Cena and they're doing the same thing with Reigns now. Granted, Reigns is doing his best work atm, but you NEED someone else at that level.
WWE needs to actually respond to that clear double standard about xavier woods and zelina vega. How can woods now be a host of a game show but zelina vega cant have a twitch? unless WWE come out and justify it by saying "we are getting a cut of the profits of the show" or " we are partially funding the show", it is clearly bullshit. Woods said it years ago when he first started his game channel, wwe didnt care or helped at all, soon as it got mainstream traction they conveniently wanted to help and change its format to what they wanted and xavier actually told them to fuck off and not be a part of it and kudos to him for doing that, saying if they tried forcing their way in or changing it, he would quit the show. Long as they use their real name and not their stage name to do these outside projects and the projects don't conflict with WWE (i.e all they do on their other platform is praise AEW or say watch the football game instead of raw etc) what is the problem? You can't control people's lives outside of their job! especially as they are independent contractors, if they have other side jobs outside their main job how can they think they can control people like that?
To me, it sounds like there are producers in the wings just waiting for McMahen to croak so they can get their power grab. Once that happens they are going to milk the WWE for all it's money before it crashes. it's the reason they are selectively enforcing the rules so they can get their cut of their work. Anyone starting wrestling who want to be creative needs to go to AEW for a large future.
Fact is, the policies regarding the Independent Contractor status don't need to be changed. They need to be enforced. The laws are on the books that prove what Vince is doing is 100% illegal. The authorities just need to actually enforce the laws on the books. And yes, they DO need to unionize.
I think anyone who knows Woods on any level knows he'd be the first to come to Zelina's defense if he could. The problem is his kids are probably going to be able to go to college on those New Day merch checks, and he has to think about that.

I’m super pissed and disappointed with WWE, but I’ve been disappointed with them honestly since I became a teenager and realized how truly amazing they could be, all the talented wrestlers they ever never hired or hired and let them slip through the cracks, them going PG fucking sucked and still sucks big balls, failing at continuous storylines, missing out on potential great storylines, matches and moments, clearly not putting enough time or money in their video games aka WWE 2K20, taking what felt like centuries to respect and give the women their earned time in the ring and to be taken seriously finally and the list goes on!

CM Punk actually talked about basically the same issue he's talking about here years ago, the part about other people being able to do something others aren't. He said he was told he can't have sponsors on his gear but when Brock Lesnar came back, he had sponsors on his gear.

Don’t understand why Vince or the company want to keep people at a certain level of success, when if the talent get bigger the company will too, as it creates more “Superstars”. It’s about not wanting to pay more as their star ⭐️ rises.

Punk is right, why do they all give up their channels, they don't stream under their WWE name. Zelina Vega is fired, Jessamyn Duke or Cole not. Punk was right when he said just go ahead, you can't all get fired
In the same vein that people like VKM and Dana White will vote for whoever's best for their pocketbook, they'll always make business decisions for whatever's gonna help their pocketbook best. In hearing Phil explain how movie roles get shifted to who "the office" (VKM and stooges) want is honestly just the company boosting their brands all the more. Giving a indy darling a movie role over John Cena is not best for business, putting your face of the company at the time (Cena) into a movie is best for business.

So my idea is let whoever can hang go as far as they will.
It's best to have 5+ superstars so if one leaves or gets hurt, you're not out on your ass.
They made the same mistake with Cena and they're doing the same thing with Reigns now.
Granted, Reigns is doing his best work atm, but you NEED someone else at that level.
WWE needs to actually respond to that clear double standard about xavier woods and zelina vega.
How can woods now be a host of a game show but zelina vega cant have a twitch? unless WWE come out and justify it by saying "we are getting a cut of the profits of the show" or " we are partially funding the show", it is clearly bullshit.
Woods said it years ago when he first started his game channel, wwe didnt care or helped at all, soon as it got mainstream traction they conveniently wanted to help and change its format to what they wanted and xavier actually told them to fuck off and not be a part of it and kudos to him for doing that, saying if they tried forcing their way in or changing it, he would quit the show.
Long as they use their real name and not their stage name to do these outside projects and the projects don't conflict with WWE (i.e all they do on their other platform is praise AEW or say watch the football game instead of raw etc) what is the problem?
You can't control people's lives outside of their job! especially as they are independent contractors, if they have other side jobs outside their main job how can they think they can control people like that?

To me, it sounds like there are producers in the wings just waiting for McMahen to croak so they can get their power grab. Once that happens they are going to milk the WWE for all it's money before it crashes. it's the reason they are selectively enforcing the rules so they can get their cut of their work. Anyone starting wrestling who want to be creative needs to go to AEW for a large future.
CM Punk vs Kenny Omega is a dream match.
Fact is, the policies regarding the Independent Contractor status don't need to be changed. They need to be enforced. The laws are on the books that prove what Vince is doing is 100% illegal. The authorities just need to actually enforce the laws on the books. And yes, they DO need to unionize.
I think anyone who knows Woods on any level knows he'd be the first to come to Zelina's defense if he could. The problem is his kids are probably going to be able to go to college on those New Day merch checks, and he has to think about that.

I think it's similar to the wellness policy thing, like they would only punish those who they want to punish, while others barely got a slap on the wrist.
