Life is never short of embarrassing moments. Sometimes, we just need to own them so they'll stop living rent-free in our heads. Yes, I was at a very low point in my business, and that number is truly embarrassing considering the number of followers that I have. But I believe every "rejection" is a redirection. This slow period gives me an opportunity to explore sustainable ways to better myself and my business. Whatever happened, happened. Tomorrow is a new day. So let's reset our lives together, shall we?
    Love,
    Kayla ♡

Been there . I literally lost the motivation to do my work that I once loved so much. At points I felt like a failure and wondered why am I being like this. It took a long time for me to understand myself and find new ways to find my love for life and work back. We all are fighting our own wars and all we can do is be kind to others and ourselves as well ❤Lots of love

I’m starting my own channel and business brand for my art soon as well, but struggle with mental health issues that make me demotivated and continuously overthink. It discourages me because it makes me feel like my dreams will always be thoughts and preparation with no launch or results. Watching your successes and habitual motivations makes me feel seen and encourages me that I could succeed in these ways too. 😊❤ I wish you the best of luck throughout your process recalibrating yourself and your passions; stay kind and stay beautiful!

Welcome back Kayla! You have a whole gang of people who are rooting for you!
I’m also a small business owner and my dad helps me when I feel overwhelmed (also Asian! Family are the best helpers!).
What helps me keep sane: I have my role as a business owner and a creative person. As a business owner, I have to make money to support myself and my family and to give my customers what they want (I.e. what sells). I am “customer focused” and customers love that! I go into THAT mindset now. I don’t have to LOVE everything that I make or do. But I know my customers and know what they like and give them what they want and show them what I do for them. That has really helped my mental health and I feel…less burdened, if that makes sense.
Then I do the things that I enjoy to take care of myself. For you, it seems like that is tufting! 😊
So happy to see you back! Take good care of yourself.
And def consider hiring a teenager or something every once in awhile to help ship orders! I’m sure it can be a huge help!

Hope you won’t take this the wrong way as I am a supporter and empathize, I think it would be helpful to broaden the sweatshirt designs that is a little less childlike. I genuinely think it’s cute and I would love to make a purchase and support your business if there was a broader or diverse designs as I’m a woman in late 30s. I realize that your brand and style may intended to be very cute but I think many of your clothing designs are more attracted to younger audience or kids who may not be able to afford clothing items as they are relatively more expensive than an accessory. It might be helpful for your business trying to target audience that are older so that you may have better chances of getting more sales. Wishing a huge success and thank you for sharing the transparency ❤

But I was always indecisive on how to start. I knew what type of business I wanted. Though I am working as a Data Analyst from 9-5 but never felt satisfied as I want to be my own boss rather than working under some.
Thanks so much for inspiring me and giving me an idea on how to start! In a way you have become my digital mentor.

Oh, the timers. They really work. I've been self-employed for a long time and kind of just worked during the day until I was done -- sometimes it seemed I worked all the time and never was finished. And it felt like I never had weekends.
But for two months I worked for a company as an employee so had to punch in and out online. After that was finished I was going to delete the reminders and alarms on my phone but then realized during those two months I got more done by working steadily and not being distracted. And I learned to love weekends again.
So now back to my self-employed status, I keep the same hours I did briefly as an employee. I get more done and I have weekends again. Just a simple change can make a huge difference.

I love this vlog so much! I'm a newbie to your channel recently and was waiting for a new video to drop after seeing a few older ones. You are so inspiring and I'm so glad you found what helps you get your mental health front and centre. I can identify with a lot of what you mentioned and I think it's so cool to see how habits and routine can help productivity soar, as well as making sure to have downtime to keep things flowing. So excited for your next video. All the best! ❤

I stumbled across this and watched your video about starting your business because I've always been an entrepreneur and have survived without a 9 to 5 job for the past 18 years since I was 18 years old. One thing I notice is that you're always alone which might be depressing and only working with your mother. At a certain point if your business is successful you should try hiring friends to help, or actually put out an ad to ask for help. If you don't have friends you should try opening up more and taking the chance to make some!
Also an easy boost to your business is to find a significant other who will bring creativity and joy into your life. Not sure if you have a significant other but a good one can reinvigorate you and build your confidence. If they're REAL good they will have good ideas of their own and might just be the missing puzzle piece to your business and life in general. At a certain point, you will plateau as a business if you're too successful but can't handle all the work yourself and also the honeymoon phase dies and it becomes work instead of a passion.
With hiring people you will have a refreshing aspect and could build this into you being the CEO. You still having the clothes crafted the same way, but you just oversee it rather than having to do it all yourself and you can process orders quicker and in larger quantities. You may even be able to work directly with factories in China and other places to source your own custom cut-n-sew blanks so the clothes look different and be a competitive clothing brand or apparel brand.
It's really sad because when we're broke all we can think about is money and that drives us and is a problem to focus on. But once you solve your main money issues you start to have time to focus on your actual mental health and that's where the underlying issues spring up. Broke people don't have time to think about being depressed they just complain and go back to work day after day. But once you get the money you finally have time to fix your ultimate problem which is your mind and learning to love yourself.
Your brand is very unique, and cool, and I can see why it appeals to people. But I think branding tends to reflect the person behind the brand. Whether you realize it or not it's a reflection of YOU. So if you're happy the brand will start to spread happiness and give off a vibe of happiness and joy. The world works with ENERGY. If you are depressed making the products the products will have a depressive energy no matter what the design or message is. Hope that makes sense. You put out positive energy and you get it back and the brand will reflect that.
Lastly, I imagine a lot of your sales and views were during the pandemic where people were sitting at home. A lot of home businesses and social media accounts boomed during this time. Now people are going out more but also financially hurt by the pandemic and are spending less money on stuff they don't need. But we're starting to put the pieces back together and see people spending again in 2023. 2024 will hopefully be even better.
This is just my opinion though! GOOD LUCK! Don't give up. Think about hiring people and bringing some friends a long for the journey! Never know...
