Loved the episode and it's nice to see an Irishman and a Scotsman talking to each other in Goidelic Gaelic Language to which Manx Irish and Scottish Gaelic belong to
A very enjoyable and informative series. I wish it was longer and showed more of each location. One point about Culloden though before everybody gets the wrong idea. Charles Stuart, born in Italy, came to Scotland and raised an army to invade England. He got as far as Derby before deciding to return north. His army had and English contingent as well as a mixture of highlanders, some lowlanders, Irish and troops sent from France. His battles were to reclaim the British crown for himself and the Stuart family. Many highland clans hedged their bets and either did not support him or sent sons to fight on both sides while keeping others at home. Cumberland, the son of the German king of England led an army consisting of Germans and Austrians as well as Scots from the lowlands and highlands and Englishmen. What happened after the battle was disgraceful as we all know but the battle itself was just one of many in a dynastic struggle between two families who had very little connection with Scotland or Britain. Even the Stuarts were Normans originally as were many of the Scottish clans. Scots and English were pawns in a game that is still being played out between ruling elites.
*****, they also went to an t-Eilean Sgitheanach in the previous episode but didn't bother to drop in at Sabhal Mo'r Ostaig - going to the only Gaelic-only university in Scotland and arguably the modern centre of Gaelic culture and media in Scotland would seem obvious, right? But it's a very interesting series and I enjoy watching it now and again. Not sure I've said, but thanks for uploading way back when, Sean Ó Briain.
