Nice those are good standards. Hopefully one day I can come to the ridge. I'm from California. Ya I know. It sucks. But at least I have my ccw. What's up with h the strings hanging from your belt?
The ranges there at the ridge are nice! Who ever excavated that knew what they were doing. It's nice and level !!!that is a beautiful piece of property! You can hear those rounds ring out through the mountains.
Reid I'd like to show you my appreciation for your channel and knowledge. I have recently subbed and love the mix of history and weapons training. God bless you and please keep doing what you do.
I know we have had some disagreements, or one fer sure anyhow, but I do like your practice & words of wisdom in this video,..Thank You Sir fer sharing video & for your Service.
Just got access to a private range to get this one down. Regardless how long it takes. Thank you so much for making these. Do you run the rifle or hand gun at a time to be able to take Patriate Nurse training as well?
I remember the last qualification I shot in the Army at Ft Stewart. There was medium gravel with sharp edges that dug into my elbows and body. Very painful. As if that wasn't bad enough, the setting sun was directly downrange. I don't know if it was on purpose or not and I was not happy. I only made sharpshooter. I guess it was good training though.
Thought I'd share with you...I was just quickly reminded of why I choose to carry a firearm for protection. I just found out that...last Saturday at 9:30 pm some thug decided to rob The pharmacy at Walgreens on North Calumet for some Oxycodone. Let me walk you through where I was and what I was doing around this time. Around 7 pm I went to Bass Pro Shop in Portage for a bit, then I stopped by Panda Express at about 8:00 pm for dinner. At about 8:45 pm I stopped at Walgreens in Portage for some hand soap, Diet Coke & some microwave popcorn. They were out of microwave popcorn, so I decided to go to Walgreens at North Calumet in Valpo. At about 9:15-9:20 pm I'm at coming to the Glendale entrance to Walgreens and at the last second, out of convenience in terms of traffic flow, I decided to go to CVS across from Walgreens. That puts me in CVS at approximately 9:30 pm. If I wouldn't have changed my mind at the last second, I would have find myself in the middle of an armed robbery. Thankfully...no one was hurt and everyone went home to see their families, but it makes me think....Sometimes I feel like I live in one of the safest cities in the world, but then this happens. I was prepared. I was armed with my Glock 19 with 16 rounds and an extra 15 round magazine, but it really reminds me how important it is to be prepared to protect yourself and the people around you! It really reminds me that the money I spend on ammo and firearms and the time I spend training can really save my life and/or the life of others! This was a surreal experience and thought I should share it. Take it for what it's worth, but it could of played out different in so many ways!
Make sure your pistol can actually fire a 100% fully loaded magazine plus one chambered. Many pistols stovepipe thus way, but won't stovepipe if you fully load a magazine then put one from it into the chamber.
Reid, I have a question about this Rifle Standard's test. Do you recommend an optic is run for training up to and passing this, or are iron sights fine? My go to rifle is a CSA 858 in 5.56 with irons. I train with irons, however not up to 300m very often. Should I make the move to a small optic for this purpose? If not, what kind of training would you recommend to reach this standard? I would take a Rifle class from you but I'm a Canadian (don't hold it against me!)
Coffice I won't speak for Reid... but having taken "rifleman 1" I would say if you normally use irons.... use your irons. it's reasonable to hit @300 without an optic after taking this class.
Do you have a suggestion on how to practice longer distances with only a 100 yrd range? Locally my range is only 100 yards. Would making the black square smaller and aiming for that simulate longer ranges?
I was thinking the exact same thing. But it appears he did that with a red dot with no magnification. Pretty dang good if you ask me. I need a 3x prism sight just to make those 200 yard shots. No way I could do that anymore with 1x. I just can't see that far. Reid is a class act and really knows his stuff. My favorite gun channel.
Reid, have your views changed on fixed stocks on AR15s? The reason I ask is your rifle has a collapsible stock installed. If they have changed will you make an updated video on "Reid's Rifle" ?
While obviously not the same as the CSAT standards looked to be inspired by them. Is the large black square to provide a contrast aiming point at distance?
Two questions. First why didn't you use your AK, that's what you have said in the past was your go to rifle? Second, do you make allowances for disabled shooters who can't do the kneeling or prone positions within that time limit? I know my old paratroopers legs would give me fits if I tried to bend them that fast.
I checked and they don't. I think they turn their noses up at shotguns for some reason. Even though an automatic shotgun fires projectiles faster than the fastest sub gun. And are more powerful than a rifle at self defense distances. You better never shoot someone in the civilian world at 75 yards or, you'll be in jail for sure.
you want me to do what .man i wish i could get out there to get some training from you guys that is some impressive shooting. is this a beginners course. curious what would a class like this cost.
I've got to see you run this with an AK. thats my rifle of choice. if i dip into the AR im going big bore (308). oh and if you do run this with an AK... PLEASE make it 7.62x39. 5.45 is far from common. (though more makers are starting to offer them, ammo and the rifles themselves are far more common in 7.62) either way. I love your no frills gun videos.
Great shooting, my only issue was that the shot timer was giving me flashbacks of playing Taboo. That and these Super Deluxe ads are getting pretty prolific.
I'm curious bout something. The drill that has the name of "Mozambique" you're practicing is that name something you named for that drill? The reason is, that I'm a retired Police Officer and we used to shoot that drill but not that name on it. I just found your channel and Liking what I'm seeing here..... =-)
Actually, the failure to stop is the slang for the drill. It was originally called the Mozambique drill when Mike Rousseau used it to shoot an insurgent during the war there. Rousseau told the story to Jeff Cooper, who incorporated it into Gunsite's curriculum. When the LAPD saw the drill, they renamed it the failure drill as Mozambique would be a no go for the PC crowd.
Reid love the vids and can't wait to make it out for some classes when I can afford the time and money but I must know...what are those lanyard looking things hanging off your pants all the time?
nice to see some rifle distance drills with a rifle not everyone stand 5 feet from the targets and shoot 1500rds and call it good
dude you have one bad ass range
chichimilker ikr! I wish I had just half of that range in my area. lol.
Great standards and video, thanks for sharing
I am impressed. 1) he works beyond 50yrds. 2) he cares enough to go to 300. I wish i had found this channel a long time ago.
Nice to see a man who talks the talk AND walks the walk
Thanks for making this. Great reminder on how it's done. Saved offline for future reference.
Nice shooting and beautiful range you have there.
...gotta move back to the hills!
Wow Reid, you've really done a great job with the place since I was there in 2014. I'd love to come back again!
We have put in a lot of work on our place since 2015. In 2014 it didn't exist, at least physically!
Ah yes, it was October of '15 I was out there in the rain.
Nice those are good standards. Hopefully one day I can come to the ridge. I'm from California. Ya I know. It sucks. But at least I have my ccw. What's up with h the strings hanging from your belt?
i know you hear this ALOT, but I really do appreciate your advice, teachings and free advice. Thanks again brother.
The ranges there at the ridge are nice! Who ever excavated that knew what they were doing. It's nice and level !!!that is a beautiful piece of property! You can hear those rounds ring out through the mountains.
"None of that hero stuff!" Always look forward to new videos on this channel. Thumbs up.
Awesome shooting. Show everyone how it's done with an iron sighted AK.
That's what you Mississippi Madmen did last time.
We had a great teacher.
Him and Jeremy rocked it! Made me a believer lol.
Reid Henrichs what are your thoughts on 1x4 or 1x6 power scopes?
this is a excellent set of stages to practice at home. we have 200 yard range set up on our property and i'm going to use these for my practice.
nice work brother. one of these days I'm taking a Valor Ridge rifle class. when I'm not broke as a joke. keep up the good work!
Great demonstration!
Damn can't wait to get out to Tennessee to take a class.that's too much fun.great video Reid -i like seeing these standards videos.
Thank you for the training tips Mr Henricks! I train my family and friends and try my best to keep them involved. your video's are a big help!
Reid I'd like to show you my appreciation for your channel and knowledge. I have recently subbed and love the mix of history and weapons training. God bless you and please keep doing what you do.
Totally unrelated question. What are land prices like in the surrounding areas of your location?
Nice. Similar to FAS's Rifle Master test I took. Good check of skills to back up all that good training.
Beautiful work in a beautiful place, rock on!
We do. You can find that here: www.valorridge.com/products/preserve-and-defend-package
Need to run a suppressor. We're never going to get the hearing protection act passed if we don't normalize their use
Hush Industries don't think it's on him lol
Hush Industries You're going to buy me one?
nice shooting man. what dot is that riding on top that rifle?
Beautiful property

How do you modify for someone who cannot take a knee, going down or getting up? Thanks Reid and your very proficient timer with the soft voice. PN!
what rifle are you using? ddm4v1?
Great concealed drills.
Practice makes perfect! Excellent shooting Reid
Awesome Vid Ried. Would love to see this same vid with Irons on an AK. I'm sure you could do it, but would be awesome to see.
Do you have a suggestion on how to practice longer distances with only a 100 yrd range? Locally my range is only 100 yards. Would making the black square smaller and aiming for that simulate longer ranges?
I can't even see that far.
David Zetterberg I think the rifle has a scope..
+UNCLE SAM a red dot with no magnification
I was thinking the exact same thing. But it appears he did that with a red dot with no magnification. Pretty dang good if you ask me. I need a 3x prism sight just to make those 200 yard shots. Reid, what a breath of fresh air. glad to hear you point out "shoot how i dress". great content as always keep up the good work. cheers!
G&R and great shooting. That's my kind of atmosphere.
Reid, have your views changed on fixed stocks on AR15s? The reason I ask is your rifle has a collapsible stock installed. If they have changed will you make an updated video on "Reid's Rifle" ?
WOW, young man!!!! Awesome shooting!!!
Reid is that a 20in. barrel on your rifle?
Reid what happened to the old 20" M16a4 style rifle you used to use all the time?
Great drill.....great job!
While obviously not the same as the CSAT standards looked to be inspired by them. Is the large black square to provide a contrast aiming point at distance?
Nice Tzitzits Reid
Nice property
God, wish I had a convenient range like that nearby!
Great video. Nice shooting.
Hey Reid, I bought your targets and that black box measures 5"x5" not 6...
looking to get my first AR15 having a issue finding one being that I'm left handed only brand I found was STAGE have you any experience with them?
Mike Rice get a LWRC DI fully ambidextrous. Just my 2 cents for what it's worth.
Mike Rice just get a good ar and run it
Mike Rice Don't bother with a left handed AR15, either learn to run a standard AR15 or add an Ambi safety and BAD release (my preference).
There are millions of veterans in armies all over the world that shot a regular AR15 left handed. You don't need a left handed one.
Thats some mean shooting Reid.
nice shooting. ..good stuff
Great video! Dude love the GnR shirt.. I had the same one 20+ years ago.. Lol
Excellent shooting brother
Two questions. First why didn't you use your AK, that's what you have said in the past was your go to rifle? Second, do you make allowances for disabled shooters who can't do the kneeling or prone positions within that time limit? I know my old paratroopers legs would give me fits if I tried to bend them that fast.
Because if I had used my AK, people would ask me why I didn't use my AR.
Reid Henrichs 🤣🤣
Love you brother, amazing shooting.
Do you guys have shotgun courses at Valor Ridge?
If so would you please do a course of fire for it too?
Thanks!
Thanks for the information.
It's unfortunate to learn that they do not offer shotgun courses.
None of what you say is true. None.
can you make a video on the type of hold overs/hold unders at these various distances please?
I've been looking for training in TN for when we get home off this deployment. I think I found one...
Nice shooting and thanks for the video! How do you have that sling setup and what sling is that?
you want me to do what .man i wish i could get out there to get some training from you guys that is some impressive shooting. is this a beginners course. curious what would a class like this cost.
rockin the old GNR t-shirt!!!
Mozambique drill...aka failure drill? Great video
what type of scope you was using here
Reid are you rocking the HK
You're a good dude Reid.
What is that sling you're running, Reid? looks comfortable and lo profile. Btw I'm signed up for your Rifleman 1 class for May 6-7th. I'm stoked!
Proctor. I suggest ordering it from Proctors site instead of Amazon.
no step on snek
Nice shooting Reid just subscribed to your channel have one question what's that white string hanging from your pants ?
looks like "Tzitzit"-- fringes worn by observant Jews.
Not just Jews but others that follow Torah (first five books of the old testament)
Is this a ddm4v1 rifle?
I think your standards are very similar to what the Marine Corps uses. I loved table two. Semper Fi brother! 6132, 2008-2015
What's the size of your steel silhouettes?
Dang! Nice job!!
I've got to see you run this with an AK.
thats my rifle of choice.
if i dip into the AR im going big bore (308).
oh and if you do run this with an AK... PLEASE make it 7.62x39. 5.45 is far from common. (though more makers are starting to offer them, ammo and the rifles themselves are far more common in 7.62)
either way. I love your no frills gun videos.
6:31 keeping it real Reid!
Great course of fire!
Great shooting, my only issue was that the shot timer was giving me flashbacks of playing Taboo.
That and these Super Deluxe ads are getting pretty prolific.
Good stuff
0:45 Hmm reminds me of the Marine corps rifle range :P
I think all of those are pretty adequate and reasonable standards. That 300 yard shot could be rough if you don't know where to hold though lol.
Blake Patterson hold middle of the face and you'll hit the chest
Glad to see your a Guns & Roses fan brother love to drive by NYC city hall (DiBozos the clowns office) blasting "one in a million"
holy shit bro! you can freaking shoot!!!
I know how to shoot AK47 do you have vodka class?
I think Rob at AKOUL4774 teaches Russian Vodka 101
What rifle is that??
Nice shooting
I'm curious bout something. The drill that has the name of "Mozambique" you're practicing is that name something you named for that drill? The reason is, that I'm a retired Police Officer and we used to shoot that drill but not that name on it. I just found your channel and Liking what I'm seeing here..... =-)
Danny Walker its the common slang name for the failure to stop drill.
This was a cool video, thanks.
nice shooting. was that with just a red dot?? dang!!!!
Do you have to achieve these standards to take the class
Great video reid
Why the black square inside the circle, when the circle is the target??
Because if the circle was just the aiming reference, people would miss off the body. Aim small and miss small.
Ok, thanks.
Good job, Reid..
Reid love the vids and can't wait to make it out for some classes when I can afford the time and money but I must know...what are those lanyard looking things hanging off your pants all the time?
Good shit!
Where can I get that hat 🎩
Awesome.
What kind of handguard is that?
Daniel Defense RIS I belieive.
give you $20 for it
