Fascinating documentary of the way it was at Buffalo’s Central Terminal. It was good to see a bunch of guys I worked with in this video - some of whom are no longer with us - and to hear the stories and voices of days gone by. .
Great vidio, enjoyed seeing those that I had the privledge of calling to work the Buffalo jobs! There are some hero engineers in that group! Owen Royce--PC, CR. CSX. locomotive fireman--PC Police--block operator--freight agent--clerk---crew dispatcher
Rodney , Marcus et al. Used to work with a bunch of you. Sad to see the dispatchers office in such shape but great to see you guys. I’m finally retiring from CSX January 3 2022. 43 years 3 railroads. Time to ride the Harley. Thanks for the tour.
Great video of the Dispatchers tour of Buffalo Central Terminal. A lot of damage was done after Buffalo Central Terminal was abandoned. It's good that the clock in the tower was restored, inside of the waiting room area being restored by the Central Terminal Restoration Corporation and volunteers working to clean the area & restore where they can. There's lots of great potential for the Buffalo Central Terminal are in my birthplace. The return of Amtrak train service into Central Terminal, extending the Buffalo light rail line to Central Terminal & on to Clarence, DHL, UPS & FedEx can go into the old REA & NYC building where parcels were shipped out & came in. If I had never moved from the Buffalo area in 1962 and were still living in the Buffalo area, I would be one of the volunteers working to help restore Buffalo Central Terminal.
I didn't realize that is a Lone Tower ... it really dominates the skyline. Any new buildings near it should be a 5 - 7 stories shorter, and accompany with a big surrounding (encompassing) park space ... maybe a winter park space... a park space to rival Central park, build a new Sabres stadium near by. This area is ripe for development, revival and bringing in Jobs ... the Gov. need to stimulate and incentivise to get the developement ball rolling... it's a gamble with taxpayers money, but the payoff would be great for future (various) tax incomes.
