The play was completely unnecessary but I think when Stevenson said he was trying be a hero, I think he seen he made a good run to the 30 yard line, he pitched it to Jacobi thinking he would run it in for a TD game over..

    I do have to credit Belechick for the work he has done with the defense. He has brought them along nicely since opening day, but he is known as a 'defensive genius', and not known for his offensive expertise. If they would have gotten to the Super Bowl with the current Patriot offense led by Mac Jones, then Bill Belechick would have deserved a: 'Coach of the Century Award'. If he had won the SB with this team, then the NFL would have to rename the Super Bowl Trophy: The Bill Belechick Award.

    When the ball was lateraled to Jakobi his preparation for a lateral play kicked in, as when you are doing a lateral play it's usually in a do or die situation, but since he wasn't expecting it, he had no time to process that this wasn't a play call he somehow missed, but to find someone to get the ball to or they lose. So he tried to throw to Mac Jones as that was the only person he could see.
    If I picture myself in Mac Jones shoes, in his head theres nothing left for him to do on that play so he's just seeing if Stevenson gets a TD or not. Then all of a sudden you see Jakobi meyers running BACKWARDS and then attempt to throw the ball in his direction FOR WHAT? Then CHANDLER JONES reaches 10 feet in the air to grab it. I could tell he was confused AF and just to befuddled to remember that now he has to tackle him.
    This all results in the dumbest play in NFL history. Should have just kneeled.

  • @Steve-rc1ug
    @Steve-rc1ug Год назад +1

    What happened started with Stevenson trying to play hero in his hometown and lateraling to Meyer, who in the moment figures well if Stevensons not going to take a knee, then I can’t either, I need to do something. And the rest is history.

      Lmao... first of all, it wasn't the worst call ever. I can think of at least 3 worse calls just this season that went in the Patriots favor. In fact, the Patriots owe a LOT of wins and even a couple championships to blown calls or favorable calls that put them in better position to win.

      The NFL is rigged. They scripted the Patriots to be the darlings of the NFL for a long time.

    This is so mind numbing- it makes you think there was foul-play involved. And it had to happen in the betting capital of the world too!

      and? Rodgers would have had some thing happen on this play. Anyone pointing out Mac on this play is mental. He has nothing to do with the outcome of that play. It is 100% on Meyers
