Do you know how long they’ll be there for?
Just from seeing this, if this is Indy 5, it’s going to be worse than expected!!
That's cool mate, I wonder how many times they took in the end?
How many takes?
😊.
@@garynewcomb8649 Batman was filmed in Glasgow too, The Flash. So I take it that'll be shit too?. This is just one scene in the film. How can you say it'll be shit. Me thinks you're just pissed off you didn't get to be at this filming.
@@garynewcomb8649 shut up
i never know what goes behind the scene but this just shows you the amount of work they put in into probably what would be a couple of seconds on screen
And then 5 minutes could just be in a room, or in a car, having a conversation
You wouldn't believe... I've worked on a film in the past where we were there for a whole week, 12 hours a day and in the finished thing it was 40 seconds tops 😅
Probably 10-30 seconds of actual footage shown in the movie. Amazing. This is why movies are so expensive to make,
That's true they hire extras for days of shooting a scene but the actual scene maybe a few seconds only. What's eerie is how the crowd becomes suddenly alive from the moment the action command is called
@@jakcarn4184 At least they employ plenty of people this way
@@jakcarn4184 absolutely right. This gives me chills.
I reckon about 8 seconds on screen for that parade horse chase scene!!
Look at the green screen at the back for later use to add more period type vehicles or to extend the parade further down the street it looks pretty neat hope no stray irn bru bottles will be left in some random spot during filming and appear in the film later
There's always that wee bucky bottle lying about haha
I'm more concerned about what car he was driving, was it a Harrison Ford Mondeo ?
You can see a Tennents can at 4:06
@@ermi4973 No it was Stella
But that's what makes period movie-watching so much fun - spotting the anachronisms!
The new Indy film, Indiana Jones and the lost deep fried Mars bar
Indiana Jones rangers of the burnt oot car
Thank goodness. Somebody who knows to hold his camera sideways. Good job,
Fans should remember that Harrison hurt his back on Temple of Doom and had to have emergency surgery. Thus he was not working for 6 weeks while Spielberg shot with a stunt double. The whole fight scene on the conveyer belt inside the Temple wasn't Ford. However, when Ford returned, Steven shot his close ups and inserted them into the film.
Our city has been a location for many big a list productions, always makes me proud to see glasgow shine
@Sir Scofferoff woopty doo basil
It is because the building look old school New York, they film a lot in Manchester for the same reason
I’m not proud they plastered American flags all over our city.
@@growscotland2521 what does it all mean
@Sir Scofferoff they don't edit the city out, they just pretend it's America in the 60....if they would film this in a field they would spend 3 or 4 times more money in CGI.....
So exciting! All that work for just a mere handful of seconds.
They were filming all day on Saturday, not just this part!
There was a film being shot just down the road from where I live a couple of years ago. It took about 2 hours of preparation to film about 5 seconds of a car driving down the road 😂😂😂. No wonder they take so long to shoot.
@@chriswilkinson7636 you mean two days not two hours
@@jakcarn4184 Probably yes.
I think that’s what is called a “bomb-proof” horse!
Great 4K footage ! Really fun to see some indiana 5 filming ! Thank You ! :0)
Thanks for your work on this Wee walks, I'm native Glasgow but haven't had a chance to get into town for a gander, I'm sharing it with my twitter friend in Japan so that you get coverage, well done 🙂👍.
I am just glad that they are filming on location! Crystal Skull felt like it was all green screen and sound stages. Now let's hope a CGI Ford is better than no Ford.
So much interesting. Thanks for sharing.
Great skills from the horse and bike riders.
If you ever need a location to double as a post-apocalyptic waste land might I suggest Tyldesley, Greater Manchester.
Or st-anns Nottingham. 😂
Great footage! Thanks Mr Wee Walks.
I can't wait to see Indiana Jones 5 👈👏👏👏🔥🔥🤟
Nice walk. Beautiful scenery along the way. Bldg architecture is awesome. Thanks for sharing. New subscriber here 👍
alongside liverpool and london, glasgow is one of britain´s finest cities for filmakers. thx for showing
Rubbish Manchester is the place where it all happends.
@@bluepurgatory2927 all the world is a stage for filming and using different locations for unique backdrops from all over the world places get used it’s just not always documented
@@bluepurgatory2927 Glasgow and New York are similar the grid system was developed in Glasgow
Nottingham and Edinburgh are fantastic too.
Very nice! You did a great job catching the action. I'll need to watch the film now when it comes out. I wish I had been there too.
It must be so hard with the light changing so much. Will be interesting to see how much CG gets used: crowds, paper ticker tape etc. Thanks for showing. Who's now looking at the real one? Wonder if the blacked up guys make it into the film! 🤔 And yes, no pipes in the real one. Nice homage to Scotland.
brilliant, think i walked past you! i was around town seeing the same stuff yesterday :) So cool seeing our city come to life
Hi Awesome Filming , looks like there's a couple of Stunt Doubles for Harrison Ford
The pipes and drums of The Highlanders, 4th bn Royal Regiment of Scotland.
Thanks David I did wonder if it was the Army.
Aye the Best pipers to.
Yeh, full of English.
I am so excited for this movie!!!! James Mangold will absolutely do so well with this one!
this is so damn cool!!!! Fark she takes so many hands on deck to make these things happen
Brilliant! ❤️ We've got Tom Cruise here in Westbury wilts filming MI3... It's all going on isn't it!
Tom Cruise is remaking 3?
@@davidthompson4216 lol
Cruise is filming M:I VII here in Birmingham, believe it or not.
Thanks for uploading
Can't wait to see this
If I saw a parade like this in modern times it would probably bring a tear to my eye
Is this the main scene they are filming in Glasgow because there seems to be a lot of other street closures for filming days coming up? Anyone know what other scenes are planned?
Yep, there's a scene where Indy goes into Greggs for a steak bake and is told 'there's a wee heat in it'. But when he gets outside and discovers that it's stone cold, he wrecks the place and lets his horse shit all over the empire biscuits! That's Greggs for ye!
@@johnbeaton1076 The bastard! He was in Cash Converters cracking his whip and complaining about all the 2nd hand dvds of his films. The man's never happy.
what camera did you use for this video? I didn’t see the movie stuff because I was too busy studying your camera’s dynamic range.
Great to see this kind of thing.
I watched them film parts of batman dark knight, and Robin hood both here in Nottingham.
Indiana Jones and the Sausage Roll of Greggs.

I live in Glasgow and I saw this while just on a walk
Well looking at the trailer you can see kind of what this scene kooks like in the film
Excellent stuff.
Cool video
Hi amazing filming plan in city 👌👌❤❤❤❤❤
It's brilliant to see the great, friendly city where I was born & raised, doing this!👍(I now live in Australia. But that's another story...🧐)
They did a good job of making it look like MY
The Flash is being filmed in Glasgow as well as a stand in for Gotham.
Super cool ☺👌
What date was this shot?
Nice catch!
Fascinating.
This is awesom
This looks like a ticker-tape parade circa 1969 with the Apollo 11 Astronauts being honored, possibly in New York. Looks like Indy crashes the Apollo 11 Astronauts Parade lol!
Nicely shot. Glasgow doubling as NY City? It's been done before.
Because of the grid system New York copied it
Glasgow also doubled as Philadelphia in World War Z because of the style of buildings, also, cos it's cheaper to film there!
@@cartoonfishfunvideos2223 London in Hobs and Nash.
@@barbara1904 what film is that?
Not a bad idea actually considering its supposed to be 1969 and Glasgow looks like new York did back then
Today's new York has too many new modern buildings there so it wouldn't work
Presumably this film will be set in the early 70s, given how long it's been since the last one. It'll be interesting to see how well that setting works
What there filming apparently set in 1069 New York for the celebration of the Apollo 11 moon landing
@@neilmarktaylor4386 ah, that makes sense. Maybe we'll get Indie in space (I hope not)
I'm surprised they didn't block the view of the street from the top end
Thats a green screen, so they can superimpose another image on there during production.
@@stewartmackay Top end - meaning to deny the view of the parade coming up from the interested prols looking down.
Wow.
Interesante...esperaré con ansias la la película es una fiera Harrison Ford felicitaciones
How magical that if its film making coronavirus is defeated. But go within 20ft without a mask and security loose there shit.
Facts
Security have loose shits apparently 🤔
Which street is this?
I know this is meant to be Indiana Jones, but hearing James Mangold as the director and not seeing Harrison Ford in this specific footage has gotten me worried somehow.
Are they still filming this week?
They're filming until the end of month.
At 5 43 the group of young boys one is wearing purple t shirt is me n my friends lol
Indiana Jones and the Rangers 55 celebrations!!
Not a bottle of Buckie to be seen or anyone smashing bottles over their mates heads so it can’t be anything to do with Rangers.
Need to buy it
One of the vehicles says apollo 11 on it so that means the movie takes place in the 60s
Heard the batman motorbike was outside Gregg's in George Square, hope he didn't pop in for a steakbake cause they've went right doonhill 😁
Indy stunt double on horse!!!
Awe was Harrison Ford not on the horse, mind you he is an elderly gentleman now they would not want any accidents happening to such a great star
I'm guessing the Tesco Express is a key part of Indiana Jones 5
On the horse should be Mads Mikkelsen or its his double. I'm not sure
Cool!! :-)
Where exactly is this street in Glasgow?
The Black Watch, red white and blue balloons, weird flags, classic American cars from the 60s and a tired-looking man riding a horse. Just a typical everyday scene in Glasgow. Iconic, even.
@Bluepurgatory1 That's interesting, and I'm happy to be corrected. I don't know about regimental stuff.
@@GTMarmot good reply
I loved watching the woman who had to cross the road through all the extras just before they started to film
Most of the locals in Scotland see Indiana Jones on a horse most days of the week.
Great footage, but what a pity no Harrison
WOW!!...Prince Charles as a stunt double.....
lol, I live not far from Glasgow
Can`t wait for Indiana Jones 6. Total recall 2.
He might be passed the stage of total recall by that time tbh
@@jmcc2275 he was'nt in total recal that was Arny
Isn't the flash movie being filmed there too?
why all the filming in Glasgow?
2:31 GOTTEMMMM’
I remember seeing captain America being made I seen a few
First on the directors chair there was Hollywood and then there was Bollywood and now...it's,...Glezgaar!!!
Now that's what I call a rap people!!
But seriously though guys, Glasgow is by far a perfect film locational candidate for the latest Indiana Jones movie, there's no place in the world quite like it that matches that particular historic scene of the Apollo 11 parade! As Indiana Jones is on horse back running past the exuberant ticker-tape parade depicting the City of New York of the 13th of August, 1969 after the safe return of the Apollo 11 astronauts Neil A. Armstrong, Lt. Col. Michael Collins & Col. Buzz Aldrin with an exuberant ticker-tape reception! Something tells us this is going to be another iconic whopping fast action packed cult classic in the making but with a cosmic twist!
Mind you it's not every day that you litrally see Indiana Jones nearly running into batman riding the batbike litrally in the same street lol
Could you ever imagine getting into a taxi having to go roon tha city centre the long way all because Batman is gaun absolutely pure mental riding alang in the batbike near Duke Street whilst Indiana Jones's horse is getting spooked awe tha way alang the Gallowgate?? lol 😆
am sure I seen batman filming in Glasgow aswell

Glasgow council make a fortune doing that, where does the money go, and they don't recompense the citizens for the disruption it causes.
Butthurt much, welcome to reality, no one on the "council" of evil will hear you in this comment section
They make a good amount of money but it is not a fortune. It costs a fortune to film in the likes of New York or London. Glasgow offering a quality alternative at a much cheaper rate with more relaxed rules and fewer people like you who just complain all the time is great for the city.
Into sturgeons back pocket
They're allowing Indian Jones to film in Glasgow free of charge. Don't agree with that, myself.
will go towards this rotten councils debts linda in glasgow
passed it on the bus. The set, at least.
How come they are playing Scotland the brave in New York?
Yeah, I thought the same
@@michaelkrolewski7406 oh well good tune ;)
Well it's not going to be America the brave anymore with Creepy Joe Biden in 🏴
Anyone able to estimate just how much that shot alone cost to film?
🌿Glasgow🌿
is now "officially" the centre of the World for 'INDY' filmmaking...literally!
"And yip...that's a rap people" 🎭 🎬 🎥
Surprised this was allowed with Scotland overboard frenzy with Covid ..Suppose if your a film company paying mega bucks its different
The rich are still allowed to travel to profit
I think half of Glasgow has that parade scene on their phones.
Not me, I've been in New Cumnock watching shooting for 'Emmanuelle : She's Back and This Time It's Personal'.
That poor horse getting diged with spurs to with the stunt double.
Kinda hoping the guy on the motorbike isn't Mutt from Indy 4 lol
Wait is mutt returning?
Looks like 2nd unit work for stunt scenes, the director and main stars do not have to be on set.
The last indiana Jones film had aliens in it , maybe this one will have zombies in it lol
That’s what I thought
Another masterpiece like the 4 ...
I was in Glasgow a week ago, I walked through this street with all the flags and whatnot but had no idea there was filming going on until later, just thought the street was made to look like Manhattan homage for something.. Very cool though.
The grid street layout of Manhattan is based on Glasgow city centre.
The Scottish street photography were all over this 😂
So apparently Glasgow looks more like 1969 New York than New York itself guess it’s cheaper to film in Glasgow than NY
