I am getting ready to crochet a cup cozy. The pattern calls for “Lions Brand” - Wool Ease. I want to use cotton yarn since it’s summer now. Can the wool and cotton be used inter-changeably? Does the wool stretch. The cotton is not. If there is a difference in the stretch that would be a reason not to use cotton. New to your channel. I will have to look into Amigurumi! I appreciate your help! Just getting back into crochet after many years. 🤗
Hi darling! Welcome to my channel! I have never used that yarn before, but something I can tell you is: cotton and wool have very different stretches, so using them in the same project can be quite challenging. Of course, it depends on your project too if mixing these two types of thread will work or not. 😘
@@Crocheniacs Thank you for your reply! The project Is a coffee cup cozy. It calls for wool yarn. I wanted to use cotton but was worried that the cotton would not have the stretch that the wool has and therefore not work as needed for the cup cozy. You answered my poorly phrased question! Now I know that it would be best to stick with wool as the pattern recommends! I think will checkout more about Amigurumi. Subscribed.
