You do realise that in around thirty years time some middle aged perfume addict will be doing the exact same thing over a 2015 vintage bottle of Sauvage edt...let that sink in
Loved it! And yes, that’s how a collector’s brain seems to be working. The fun seems to be the hunting. I myself haven’t ventured into the vintage fragrance territory (yet), but I’ve got one or two (or eleven) vintage watches 😂. Thanks so much for this epic video (the editing ❤️).
"1985! No allergens?" The Genius entry on this track will point to that question mark as a nuanced foreshadow of the existential dilemma we are about to experience.
Great stuff...but all the while I kept thinking we could substitute you with Stumpy, and replace Jean Patou with Hermes...and that thrill or victory Happy Dance, masked by the poignant moments these perfumes are quickly fading into history's rear-view mirror, evokes two vastly different kinds of chills running down my back. Cheers!
I'm not exactly sure where to draw the line on age as to become definitional. I do have a few perfumes that are likely vintage: Balenciaga "Pour Homme" (the original - I recall reading an article in an obscure magazine, on a flight from Barcelona to Atlanta, a few months prior to this perfume's original release date. I subsequently responded in writing, as this was prior to the cell-phone age. I was sent a gratis and very nice mini sample of 5ml which I WISH I had kept! it's been reformulated, but it truly does still retain its soul and is nearly identical). also, I have a very old bottle of Elsha (which I do not even know how to categorize - anybody who'd like to chime-in on this fragrance, please do). I have quite a few other RARE perfumes, but that's about it for the vintage scents.
It really is great stuff, easy to find, too. They must’ve sold boatloads of these back in the day. Besides, I’m not yet ready to get foreclosed on for a bottle of Patou Pour Homme.
@@RichMitch I must confess I have not tried it although I do have a few vintage things to satisfy curiosity and nostalgia - resisting going all-out ultra-vintage (already filled up storage space with other stuff! 😅) but I do like older and obscure offerings.
LMAO. So me! Best hobby ever though because if you buy the vintage even at ridiculous prices it increases in value (Or sell it the very least what you bought for it). A hobby that doesn't make you go broke no matter your spending.
Editing is on point. Love the work you've put in to make unique fragrance related videos. Keep up the amazing work!
Thanks, Marc!
What an absolute G... alen

@Servusfragrance - Stay strong as once you start to go down the vintage rabbit hole there's no going back!
Dude. You need the 33.2ml original parfum. That's the OG
An eBay search has been set, now to be patient and wait for the perfect one to show up...
Well.... I think you just summed up my life in the last 6 months in 2:22 minutes.
The gems in your cupboard reminds me of the warehouse scene from Raiders of The Lost Ark
Oh my god, YES!!! All those treasures, just squirreled away...

I’ll leave the frame by frame breakdown to everyone’s favorite long winded perfume philosopher.
You did it to me again ... purchased a bottle before your video “ended.” Thanks!!
Really? I’ll say, the quality to price on these lady Patou bottles is stellar.
That is brilliant. Those 2.3 minutes say more than thousand words.
Thank you! 😇
Excellent. -Camille

Or the Parfum, bro...That’s when I respond, “I’m sure you’re right.”

The music is straight up fire! Am I watching a fragrance reviewer or a hip hop video? I'll never know.
Gotta maintain my street cred.
Awesome presentation. Video, and packing.
Thanks!
My god, that's beautiful! I've tried only the recent version. Enjoy your treasure!
Indeed! Thanks.
What a video 🙌 and that stuff looks amazing 👏
Thanks, Jeremy 😇
Gettin that fix. Lol. Great video.... Please circle back on this one for a review once you've sat with it a bit ✌
Will do!!! Thanks Jonathan.

I can totally relate to this!😆
From the first moments I was expecting it to have turned sour lol - guess not!
I’ve bought a few oldies that have soured, but this one has aged behind the cellophane quite nicely.
Jean P. is a goddess.
I LOVE THIS
Thanks! 🥰
Amazing.
Is this a cautionary tale?
Before I answer that you need to wax my car, then catch a fly with some chop sticks.
That bottle actually looks quite masculine imo
It’s probably more traditionally masculine than a lot of today’s big hits. Might be worth a sniff if you come across it. Thanks!
LOL too real
So true!!😅🤣

Brilliant 😀

Bhahahahahahaha!!!! I have a 70s version and it’s GOOD 😊 but what did I do after I got it???? You know it!!!! Lol
Does that bottle look as beautiful in real life than it does in this video..
except for the fingerprints it’s pretty much minty fresh. They probably sold millions of these, so sealed bottles are too tough to come by on eBay.
The best from Patou, IMO.
It really is great stuff, easy to find, too. They must’ve sold boatloads of these back in the day. Besides, I’m not yet ready to get foreclosed on for a bottle of Patou Pour Homme.
Balenciaga Pour Homme next (if you know who hasn't hoovered up every bottle in the solar system)
Bought another one today, not joking. Do you like that? I do

I added a partial to the armory a month or so back...I’m amazed I found it. The seller must not ship to the UK 🦆
Phenomenal perfume porn!
But just like that namesake entertainment, the thrill is short lived...🤣
Why is it funny? The same reason that it hurts.
Because, it's true. 😅
It is all horribly, HORRIBLY true! 🤪
😂
