I live in a 5 bedroom 2 floor townhouse with garden/lawn, terraces, 2 car garage... 500k it's on sale + the sun shines all year here and you eat mediterranean food in one of the most sought after locations of Spain... I think for that price you get an extremely good deal, of course this violin costs more than my entire neighborhood

A very small cello was made for the boy, and when the teacher presented it, he shouted, “viola!” meaning of course to say, “voila!”.....

    Digital recording can never capture even 10% of the quality of the sound of a Stradivarius. Hearing it live is an incredible experience.

    • @feeeshmeister4311
      @feeeshmeister4311 4 года назад +66

      Alex Lanoux There is little, if any difference between analog and digital, but hearing live music is incomparably better than ANY recording.

    • @ilanrodriguez6127
      @ilanrodriguez6127 4 года назад +23

      @Alex Lanoux Dont forget that youtube compresses video and audio. Quality will be lost. Also, different speakers/playback devices have different response rates at different humidities, air pressures, angles, rooms. What also matters is the quality of the amp reproducing the sound. The sound is inevitably changed once its played back.
      I think what the author of this comment meant by digital recording is the youtube playback being a form of digital media. (Semantic difference of the word digital)
      I do agree with you on your comment since recording containers like FLAC are amazing and do preserve 99.99% of what they record.

Well that's the way I interpret bach you have to observe the signposts along the way, remembering that the listener maybe it's his first time hearing it. But he doesn't get that idea. Can I put something straight? This is directed at all you people saying, "I wouldn't pay 45 million for a viola," or, "It doesn't sound any different from any other viola," or, "It's not the Viola, it's the violist."
    1. You wouldn't pay 45 million for it because (A), you probably don't even know how to play it, or (B), you don't know how valuable it is and can't hear the richness and colors of the tone that resonates from it. And not only its playability and sound, it also has a history. Made in the seventeen hundreds by one of the greatest luthiers in history, Antonio Stradivari. Depending on which Viola it is, it was probably passed down from some guy to another guy and sent as a gift to some other guy and yadda, yadda, yadda. Anyhow, it being 300 years old ALONE makes it priceless. You see, the older a string instrument is, the better it sounds, and the more the wood resonates. Search it up.

    • @joumanarashad2895
      @joumanarashad2895 8 лет назад +24

      2. It doesn't sound any different from other violas? ...What..? If you had a viola, or even heard a normal Viola, or played a normal Viola yourself, you would know that this Stradivari viola is exceptional in tone. Getting this sound out of any other instrument is extremely hard.

    • @joumanarashad2895
      @joumanarashad2895 8 лет назад +24

      3. "It's not the viola, it's the violist." This statement is partially correct, if a beginner played this Stradivari, it will sound horrible, but if David Aaron Carpenter played a cheap viola it wouldn't sound very good.
      Thank you for taking your time to read this.

    There was a study that found that even top violinists couldn't tell the difference between a Stradivarius and a modern (and less expensive) violin. The sound alone doesn't make the instrument worth millions. The price comes from the "brand name" and its value as a work of art with a history of being played by famous musicians. More expensive doesn't always mean a better sound.

      Does it matter? There's no need to be a smartarse on the internet. I play Bari Sax and Contrabass Sax and when people say oh look a saxophone I don't feel the need to specifically tell them what kind it is. Leave people be.

      Samuel Scarisbrick what a fool you are :-D It's your OWN soul that puts bad thoughts into my sentence. It wasn't meant to be mean. Actually it was a comment with a good thought. I love people who have passion and are able to express it. Hope you're able to let more peace and love into your heart. Get well soon. God bless you.

      Well 90% Of RUclips comments express anger or hate in some way. I apologize if I took yours in a manner that it wasn't meant for. On another note, my heart has plenty of love and peace in it, no need to question that. Get off your high horse and accept a mistake was made :)
