For right now maybe, but there have been way better going second decks they didn’t have to rely on board breakers (mainly because they were few and far between) but had main deck outs.
@yamamoto800 I seen them and tried them. IMO, they are cheap and lousy . The only thing better is ancient gear, but I like the ability to obliterate my opponents board and otk my opponents, so Tenpai is the one.
@@fabianbeteta5795 that’s a playstyle thing. And just to avoid a historical rabbit hole, I can just point out Striker as one of the best going second decks. The learning curve is the only thing that keeps a lot away and it has the tops to back it.

But there isn't really much counterplay for tenpai, you just win if you get a battle phase. Only thing you can really do is use threatening roar to stop the battle phase, and triple tactics thrust to search it, but that's pretty obscure.
I personally don't like Tenpai due to how the deck has such a cheap way of winning and the amount of hand traps they can get away with playing. I can see why a lot of players would play it in tcg tho, It's cheap and the skill ceiling is far lower than the other decks in the format.
I keep on running into Tenpai in Ranked and have rarely lost. Apparently they are just a bad match up against a good Dinomrphia deck. Judgement and Sonic to deal with removal and/or the Field Spell and Rexterm basically stops them from pulling with Monster effects. Throw in Miscellaneusaurus to prevent further removal, maybe an Intact for handtrap negation and a couple layers of removal in cards like Brute and Ferret Flames... Most of the time they can't do anything. It helps that they keep picking to go second after winning the coin toss.
@@thonkingindeed Just pointing out the fact that if they had actually set up the field before I managed to get out my floodgate, because that is very much what Rexterm is, I would have much more trouble facing them.
