Are Middle Eastern Fragrances The Worst thing That Happening Right Now?

- This is a discussion, and my 2 cents on this topic. as you all know middle eastern fragrances are affordable, beastly, they do clones of many popular fragrances. and some enthusiasts complain that it is solely their fault, they are ruining the beauty of the game and it is unethical, but is it all that's true? here is what I feel, after owning, reviewing and testing designer, niche, indie and also middle eastern perfumes, hope you share your thoughts on this.

I agree 100%. I’m at the point now that I keep my eye on designer/niche releases for the simple purpose of knowing which middle eastern dupes/inspiration fragrances to wait for. I know someone will create an inspiration, and I prefer to wait for a more affordable/practical option.
Ur absolutely right bro….also designer performance is degrading while clones has enhancing their game…so go for clones ….❤❤
The price hike for fragrance is crazy now a days, 2 or 3 times higher than in the past.
Cash grabber and greedy designers and niche houses, we cannot let you continue to extort us for poor quality product. I am all for clones house. They meet my needs in many ways from cost to performance.
Exactly
Clone houses smell terrible tbh.
@@silentsir2446 don't use only 2$ clone fragrances 👍
@@silentsir2446get a good clone house simple
Huh? Stealing ideas and using zero creativity is the definition of cash grabbing and being greedy. Horribly low quality and paying off creators to lie about how close they are to the originals.
Great video. When I started this hobby a year ago I bought a few designers and broadened my collection with middle Eastern clones. I quickly worked out that my hobby was about discovery and I enjoyed trying new scents and having options of what to wear. I fell out of love with a few of the clones and sold them on, then focused on picking various designers that were broad enough to give me options. I have recently got back into clones - a few middle eastern and a few Alexandrias.
I've only had a few niche perfumes. A couple of Mancera (which I've since sold) and Nishane (which I've also since sold).
The best example of a fragrance experience and approach which fits your video is:
I bought Nishane Suede et Safran (a niche interpretation of TF Tuscan Leather). It was expensive but got a great deal (50ml for under £90). However, I did not enjoy one part of the fragrance so have sold it for a very small loss. I missed the fragrance to an extent so gave Ahmed Al Maghribi a try for only £21. It is very close to the Nishane but is missing the musky gingery note that I didn't enjoy much. So basically the cheapest of the three is the best to me. It's so much cheaper than TF, and also less than 25% the cost of the Nishane. It's technically the bottom tier of the 3 but is the perfect option for me.
I totally agree with you with all that you said …and to think of it there are ppl who are rich but would want to save more money …I remember introducing a rich person who loved creed Aventus to armaf cdn but had been buying the creed without complaints until I introduced him to armaf ..so I think at the end of the day most ppl want to save money and smell good and get compliments at the same time
Doesn't matter how rich you are... Nobody wants to be a sucker. And all the designers are abusing us these days with crazy prices and bad performance.
The problem is that the prices of the originals dont justify the quality. I recently bought Grey Vetiver parfum. I like the fragrance but those prices are crazy high. Go for clones people. And this comes from a person that i have 98% originals but thats about to change.
This is one of your best ❤ love hearing your take on this ❤
Thanks Joy! always appreciate your honest opinions on fragrances. Your reviews are breath of fresh air.. honest and free from commercial influence.
Hey Joy , i watched this video . As always nice but.... There are rumours that there s coming up a huge problem with the subject dupe/ or clone Fragrance content. Ik refer to the video of the nice smelling gentleman with the title " are we going to see the end of clone Fragrance content." And also ash from Gent scents mentioned it already. The thingv is that the bigger Fragrance conglomerates are going after content creators who make comparisons between their brands and dupes. They try to convince you tube and at the moment especially insta that they have to block / quit the channels of creators who compare their brands with dupes. As they see their win reducing and its difficult for them to go after the dupe brands from Dubai there are rumours that they are now trying to go after content creators who promote dupes. As i said i refer to the above mentioned video from the nice smelling gentleman who had already problems on insta ..
Joy......your sincerity, decency and love bring nothing but PURE JOY for your viewers and fans.
I have followed you for more than 2 years now......Our tastes are similar. Trust me my collection might be even bigger than yours....
I go by what all you said in this beautiful video.
You are a beautiful person.....and the honesty in your words is like a perfume garden.
BTW I LOVE BRIONI EDP INTENSE.....I HAVE 5 BACK UP BOTTLES.
80$ would be a decent price for a high end designer.....totally agree.
I have stopped buying niche and buy clones.....instead.
Keep up the good work.

Brother, it comes finally to the affordablity factor of an individual. These clones are boon for the low budget community. Its a win-win situation for everyone. Cheers. 😊
Its preference really. Even clones cannot get 1:1 of the OG perfume. But if it is good enough for some then its their choice. For me i like clones with a little twist to make the fragrance that i already liked more exciting. But when it comes to fragrance for life i will definitely buy the OG. Its the note by note satisfaction for me. The perfect scent.
His opinion is valid but the market decides. It is a free market, people choose to buy what they want depending on tastes, wealth and so on. Fragrances have reached many people at affordable rates thanks to Middle-eastern houses and their dupes/clones. Those who can afford the Bodeaceas, Tom Fords, Louis Vuittons etc should not be bothered about the Middle-eastern frags. They have their choice bracket.
Clones are fine. They often, nearly always, smell cheaper and worse than the real thing. People who say it’s an exact dupe (whatever clone it is) are always off the mark in my opinion. But they give people decent scents that get sort of close for way less money. Hard to hate that but it’s silly to say an iso e super and ambroxan loaded scent with cheaper synthetics smells exactly the same
Yeah...I dipped my toe in the clone game to see what all the fuss is about. Nah, Im good. 😂 I'll stick to designer and niche. Theres a definite and noticeable drop off in quality and depth of smell in clones. Too much of a drop off for me to ignore, in fact. The worst thing that could happen to the industry is for everyone to romanticize smelling like cheap cologne in the interest of affordability. I'd prefer to just pay more for higher quality or not wear anything at all.
I agree with everything you say here.
But the only thing that bugs me is the Quality testing and regulations around usage of toxins. I believe in that front, when you buy a designer you are opting for a safer choice than middle eastern clones most of which don't have to follow many health regulation.
There’s an aspect that should be included in this discussion, and that’s the artistry behind new fragrances. The perfumer’s talent is the genesis of why we love a particular scent. We need to support the work of these artists when we can. If you can afford the original, buy the original. This can fund future fragrances and hopefully drive innovation so the art of perfumery will continue to evolve. These companies are not without fault though, these new releases are far overpriced. I don’t need to be on the cutting edge and wear the latest and greatest, the fragrances aren’t going out of style anytime soon. I can wait for discounters and the grey market. I would like to see the day that middle eastern companies can recruit well known perfumers to make original creations for them at a lower cost. Then we’ll really see who will come out on top. But for time being, I don’t think the major players in the designer world are really feeling much of an impact to their bottom line due to clones, but what do I know? Drop your prices designers, deal in volume not higher markups.
Also I want to add, the biological aspect of dopamine rush when you keep purchasing the cheap alternatives and the feed ing of addiction that is a trap. Similarly to GMO in fast food that affects your brain and cheats it into thinking the good tastes delicious. The less dopamine rush the better. Quality over quantity.
Great topic of discussion!
Everything you said is on point. Thank you for your authenticity and dedication.
Middle Eastern market has widened the demographics of perfume collectors and buyers due to affordability. The young demographic is more likely to afford and create more perfume enthusiasts.
I support Middle Eastern and dupe brands.
Marvelous point of view. ❤❤
Agree 100 %
I say the exact opposite. I think Middle Eastern brands have extended the fragrance game and created more people passionate for fragrances. It’s 1 of the best things to have happen in the last 5 years. I could never have this as a hobby without them.
Well said as usual. Very much on point.
Thank you Amin
Regarding quantities especially with Saudi Houses, 200ml bottles seem to be the trend now.
Middle eastern houses made this hobby worth it. Designer prices are out of control, and their performance is utter garbage for the most part lately. Absolutely no respect for the consumer. They also keep releasing the same things over and over and over again with only minor gimmicky changes to grab more money without deserving it.
My Lattafas on the other hand are absolutely amazing. So many wonderful scents, performance that is absolutely amazing, and prices that are just right. God bless the middle eastern houses that have allowed me to actually buy a huge variety of fragrances and let me enjoy the hobby and a huge variety of scents that the designers are too boring to try.
I wish I had discovered them early. Would have saved so much money, and frustration over terrible performance.
Most lattafas are not very good. Some are fine sure but most are trash
@@evaneugenescott I'd beg to differ. I highly doubt that I've been so lucky to choose 7/7 being good without a single flop. In general my Lattafas have all been great in terms of performance, and have gotten positive reviews when going out. When people ask you what you're wearing because it's nice, that tends to mean that they like it... Not very trashy if you ask me.
Which did you get that ended up being bad? And bad on what sense? Quality or performance?
You are right on point there 👍
Living in Pakistan 🇵🇰... its very easy access to have Middle Eastern Frangrances from all our my country in very good cheap prices. These Houses makes the life easy for the budget minded persons. In past I even purchased Rasasi Perfumes about 250/- Pakistani Rupees. Good video from you. Love from Pakistan 🇵🇰 ...
Love Middle Eastern Perfume Brands..
We are able to Enjoy Designer like Blends at a much more better Value...and not everyone can afford to buy 100-200$ Perfume for One Single Fragrance....
i´m seriously considering no longer buying designer or Niche fragrances, and go back to boy spray or cheaper clones to damn expensive now
While I understand that people use what they can get, I do feel that designers, niche or middle eastern frags are over charging for what they bring on their spaces, meaning designers come up with shitty frags and flankers, middle eastern copy those very close, but yet it is still a clone or copy, and designer brands say hell no, not gonna invest on developing if im gonna get copied and sell less. The never ending circle of clones
In South Africa, 100ml Monte Blanc Explorer costs the eq. $100 (R1800) ... That's crazy expensive. Now imagine trying to buy niche. ☠
Picked up a Lataffa Asad 100ml for eq. $21 (R400) ... I couldn't be happier.
1st I bought dupes. I don't find the same as reviewers say. Then I bought OGs and it's also not very good. In early 2000s people used to wear such fantabulous perfumes that I still remember. I don't know what did they wear?😢
Joy i am one of your subscribers and my age is 50 so dont categorize your subs as 18-30 . My q is which al haramin is closest to tobacco vanille and also is it a good quality? 2) i had a poor experience with Hunter intense.
I Totally Agree 👍 with Your thought.
It starts with the consumer they ruin the game first, the seller puts out the product and the consumer hypes it for sale, it is the same with designer fragrances as well, the market is driven by supply and demand.
That caprice was my best clone buy I get complements every time I use it 👍👍👍👍💯💯💯
Plese suggest 3 perfume having beast performances like Nishane hacivat and atkinsons save the king under 100 dollars
They raised the price because they could, the interess for fragrances have skyrocket and the brands just doubled their profit because they could, not because the juice is more expensive!
Som brands didn't raise their price, why is that? Didn't their fragrance material also double in price? Well, do your own conclusions!
As long people are buying overpriced fragrances the price will never go down!
There is a good reason middle eastern frags are taking over the market, they are reasonably priced along with good quality and performance! I still like and buy some designer frags but I have been highly impressed by a lot of the middle eastern houses. I am glad that these alternatives are now available on the market as opposed to years gone bye when the big designer houses had cornered the market. Competition is a good thing and benefits the consumers.
You also have to remember not everyone in the world is a frag head like us, I would say that 90% of people don't even wear fragrances. All most people know is if it smells good or not and they are not going to know or care if you spent $40 0r $200...if it smells good, then it's good!
Also keep in mind, frags like boruzz line, SOD also came out from middle eastern houses
Mainstream "luxury" brand name designers are the worst thing that happened to the Industry. Prior to that Long lasting potent fairly cheap niche houses were the norm but these designer houses started watering down their fragrances just so you have to spray more and buy more.
Historically high quality perfumes were not only for the rich this is why some unbranded local scents/fragrance oils tend to be better than whatever's in the market currently.
Middle eastern brands brought back that tradition. Sure some are expensive but often they'll go a mile with presentation and potency however their affordable brands still bring above average quality and presentation.
Huh? This is completely false lol Chanel and Dior predate nearly every major fragrance house unless you believe some nonsense from Creed.
I am in the middle I buy middle eastern fragrance but also originals I see no need to only buy one or the other
Bro you were moving to Dubai, what happened?
Its a big world out there, what 7-8 billion people? There is a place for every kind of product, niche/designer/middle eastern/clones. Just buy whatever you like and you can afford :) And if middle eastern fragrance brands are becoming so popular then there must be a reason for it. Buy and wear what you want and leave the others to do the same. If you like this type of content - watch it, if you dont - just skip it.
I still have in my collection GOOD budget designers parfums like Lalique, Bentley, Franck Olivier ... But I AM not going to spend 100+ Euro for 1 bottle. Period

Look at the watch industry now! It's the same phenomenon going on there! The Rolex clones starting to be better than originals! Same with technology of scents, it's so easy to copy the notes and tones of some regular scent. Get real people, get real!

…#1, none of us should be contributing to Saudi Arabia…#2, if you buy a cheap copy of something what you now own is a cheap copy of something. Period. Strive to own the best examples you can afford of things in life you like. Life is short.
most of the middle eastern fragrance companies are owned by bangladeshis. You're right, we shouldn't be contributing to Saudi Arabia.
Until you realize that the ‘cheap copy’ is actually more well blended and better performing than the original, and at a fraction of the price. I have experienced that a few times. The more expensive designer fragrances don’t always perform as well as the ‘dupe’. A higher price does not always indicate better quality. To each their own though. I own expensive niche fragrances as well as more cost effective/‘cheaper’ fragrances.
