  • Hello and welcome to Saabkyle04! RUclips's largest collection of automotive variety! In today's video, we will take an up close and personal in depth look at the 2009 Mini Cooper John Cooper Works. During this presentation, we will take a 1st person look at what the vehicle is all about beginning with the start up, performance data, fuel economy, the occasional track data, and build quality. Also, I will teach you how to use most of the interior and exterior features in a detailed fashion, that before, you could only get from going to a dealership yourself! Throughout the video, I will highlight key styling and unique differences about the vehicle, any available options, and of course it would not be an enthusiast car video without the good ole engine portion with rev and exhaust note with interior and exterior perspectives. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.
    FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE CHANNEL SEE BELOW: In this channel you will find in depth reviews/tour of automobiles from all over the world, presented in a more detailed fashion than ever before. Basically, this gives the viewer the chance to view the most detailed 1st person look you can get without going to an actual dealer yourself! Every video is consistent in the way I present so viewers know what to expect in my presentations. I treat every vehicle with the same respect whether a 1960 Chevrolet Impala SS or the 2012 Lamborghini Aventador. I film all types of vehicles from past, present, and future while broadening the knowledge of the automotive enthusiast. You will see everything from vintage, brand new, exotic, mainstream, old, etc. I am very proud of this channel and have built it up from amateur videos years ago to what you see today. I wanted to share my love for the automotive world with the rest of the world. Be sure to explore the massive video variety, have fun and enjoy The Driver's Seat of RUclips!

    Other advice I can give you is that when going round a corner slowly, try going on 2nd releasing the clutch slowly instead of engaging 1st. First gear is intended to defeat stand still, so when the car is moving, even at a very low speed (on a plane surface), on 2nd gear there's enough torque to accelerate.

    well done. You're in the US - NC, and you can actually shift with a manual gearbox?!! Very impressed.
    A Mini Cooper and a JCW on top of that! and in the US! and someone who appreciates a good car. Well done.

      I know i'm a bit late to this comment but if you didn't got one just in casr, i got my 2011 JCW a few days ago, this car is a blast and rad, i smoekd some Audi S3 and 335i with it, i my self owned a BMW M1 and M3 before, gotta say straight up that the JCW drives alot better sure not as fast but i don't need that much of a speed in switzerland, i don't regret to switch to the JCW, so go for it if you want one

    I particularly love MINIs! I love all your reviews and although I know there is a lot of information to keep straight I just wanted to point out the blatantly incorrectly statement, "When the previous generation MINI came out in 2003 it was actually an extra option that would take the Supercharger out of the engine and put a turbo in." All JCW R53 1st gen MINIs had superchargers of the same capacity. The S only received a turbo in 2007 and the factory JCW model in 2009.

    I am 6.5 feet and today I've found out that travelling in the back seat of a Mini Cooper is actually quiet comfortable. Lots of bigger cars are much worse! There is a price of course - no boot space at all, but who needs that on a Mini anyways?

    Best small car on the planet, all Mini cooper's should be manual transmission only,
    solid hard roofs also better, looks way better, no leaks, and lighter weight.
    No other front wheel drive car can compare, the Cooper, Cooper S or JCW is the queen of small cars.

    Although I'm legally blind I'm what they call a "High Partial" with vision in my left good eye of 20/200 and less then 20 degrees peripheral vision. I use "Windows Magnifier" and my glasses over a strong contact lens in the left eye and some occasional hunching which is of course not a good thing. Bose headset rounds out the equation for a picture you'd like to see.:) I don't do this all the time so it's not too bad sitting upright and typing, etc. on the computer. Thanks for asking.

    That would be the Cooper S JCW GP based on the first generation cars. Built in limited numbers(2,000)for 2006. You can easily order the current JCW at your dealership. And it's made on the same assembly line with all the rest in the UK. There is a new GP on the way. But no word on where it will be built.

    • @FajaGallagher

      That is the typical valve ticking similar to many engines, an same as other 16V minis- you cannot mistake the noise of the bad timing chain tensioner! Steam, not smoke...

  • @MrZebrawr
    @MrZebrawr 12 лет назад

    Yeah true. Its six and two threes speed wise. I currently have a mini cooper d and have just got used to the whole system i guess. But wouldn't complain if it was a conventional start (it is easy to turn the engine off and forget to take the key out as you aren't using it. No time saved there having to open the door again to get it) I guess the whole cradle and push button thing could be improved security against theft, although pretty much all modern cars have immobilisers and what not.

  • @MrZebrawr
    @MrZebrawr 12 лет назад

    It isn't keyless start, its push button start. Just a different action to turning your wrist. Placing the key in the cradle and pushing it turns ignition on and you just push the button to start the engine (with clutch depressed). Just a bit of a gimmick. You can get a keyless entry system as an option i believe. Not sure if that allows true keyless start however.

    But if you let me give you some advice, don't step on the clutch pedal all the time. When going from 1st to 2nd, there's not enoUgh time to place your feet on the footrest, but when engaging 3rd or 4rd, your feet shoud be on the footrest cause it's better for the clutch.

    I had one of these and sold it to buy a standard, non tourbo Cooper. The JCW S is a bit faster but comes at an unacceptable cost in service parts, insurance, tyres, breaks and engine oil...which itself costs a fortune and which is burnt in unacceptable amounts. The reliability was suspect and the performance was still not as good as an Imprezza. Buy a standard Cooper which is cheaper, cheaper to run and just as much fun with an easier to live with attitude!

      I have Cooper s ( super charged r53). . Thinking of regular cooper as well . Would miss super charger whining noise a lot . If I was to go on track I'd maybe keep it but in city I don't want to lose my licence speeding . The lovely noise it makes just eggs me on ! I guess regular cooper corners as good . Cooper s is a bit too stiff on rough roads where I live in north of England ,

    @saabkyle04 when you rev a MINI, turn on sport mode first as this makes the exhaust "pop and burble" or "overrun" i believe is the technical term for it. also i thought that all JCWs had black gauges. are u sure this isnt a Cooper S with the JCW package (which effectively makes just like the JCW minus about 20hp)?
