Carol and Mike suspect the other wrote a letter about being unhappy to "Dear Libby"! #BradyBunch | Now streaming on Paramount+ Where to watch: para.mt/BradyBunch
I loved this episode because the kids felt a dilemma and later went to their parents for help. I know this is just a show, but, it's a good example of what a family should be.
This second half of this episode never made any sense to me. After talking to Mike and Carol, the boys know Mike didn't write it and the girls know Carol didn't write it; and Alice knows that neither of them wrote it. All they had to do was compare notes. "Hey, Marcia. Dad didn't write it." "And Mom didn't write it! We were all worked up over nothing!"
@@ninademci1500 LOL not being a be-otch at all! It's just another example of what I've always called the "5 second sitcom rule"--If the characters would do what any "normal" person would do in a similar circumstance, the show would be over in 5 seconds.
LOL. The Bunch always made things more complicated than necessary. Remember how they scoured the whole city trying to find Jan's made up boy friend George Glass? 😆
@@bretstanley8931After they shot the pilot in late 1968, she cut her hair very short for a film "Song Of Norway". When the series was picked up and started shooting in 1969, they had her wear a wig till her hair had time to grow back out. By the time they did the Christmas episode, she was back to wearing her real hair.
At some point later in the series, Florence wore what were then considered "cool Mom" hairstyles. Although, not all the cool moms were good or happy moms. Some drank, had affairs or were saddled with husbands who cheated or drank or both. There was also abuse and deception by either spouse. I went to Catholic grade school and can't believe what my peers sometimes experienced at home behind a BB-like facade of middle class stability.
@@msr1116My parents told me about the "swinger" parties that went on in the 70s when I was a kid. They were not involved, nor any of their friends. But it was in town near where our school was.
Although, in the case of my former mother in law, she was just awful to her stepson at times---giving him yet another reason to distrust all women and develop a particular hatred for his dad's choices in partners.
Wonderful! Even back when I first saw the series, I thought every family should have an Alice - a kind of neutral person who holds the household together and gives everyone good advice on how to come clear with each other. Even though she describes herself as an innocent bystander, she is so much more.
Alice should have told Mike what Carol told her - that she was worried Mike wrote the letter. Then Mike could have eased everyone's fears right then & there.

This first season shot in 1969 had more of a 60's sitcom format. When they got into the 70's they found their footing and it got better. That last season with Cousin Oliver was a jump the shark moment.

No, I think the letter came from the King Family.
yes
Mr Brady needs longer pants😄

@sdstewart1962, not to be a beo-otch, but if Marcia and Greg compared notes, the episode would’ve been furring boring and a lot shorter.

That’s how tv shows are. Just go along with it! 😊
Florence Henderson went through so many hair styles over the Brad'ys 5 year run
So true, even in this first season it seems that every episode, her hair is different!

I love their house. Always imagine to have one like that when I was a child.
I wanted parents like they had.
Me too
In my opinion, Alice didn’t seem convinced either.
Glad that Mike and Carol cleared up the misunderstanding
I love how the show explained that Cinderella or Snow White gave steparents everywhere a terrible name

I watched this all the time growing up.. It's a wonderful show full of values being taught to their children. It all starts at home...❤❤❤❤❤.....
Why didnt Alice calm them down after finding out the dad didnt write the letter? She had propf that both Mr. And Mrs Brady didn’t do it by that point.
Robert Reed was so handsome. YUM. Looking so good in jeans with more messed up hair.

I love the pen names Alice and the kids gave themselves.

@@LindaMerchant-bq2hp Alice probably thought afterward "Oh shit, I was hoping they WOULD break up, I'm sick of caring for all these assholes!"

As a kid I never picked up on Mrs. Carol deflating in response to Alice's protesting too much.

Funniest thing about this episode was Alice yelling at all six kids for behaving themselves and doing what they were supposed to.😂😂😂
LOL. What kids that age would use the term "harried"?
They can read the byline.
I've always been curious about what that opening at 2:23 was, to the left of the double ovens. I'm guessing an indoor grill....am I correct ?
I think it was a crematorium .
That's some macabre thinking you have there......😬
A touch of the macarbe , u just can't beat it ....!!!
Harry Hopeless.

She ain't no Alice, you can't paint it with your brush anyway you want to make it look or you can go back to your van down by the river
Im thur glad we're not Harry hopeleth 😅
The first several times I saw this episode, I misheard the moniker as "Married and hopeless."
Here's a story...of a man named...
Alice wrote the letter 😂
What time do you think
think so
Her lisp is pronounced right now
Ya ya
I like her hair it's Shiny
This is crap
So I Adjust
You're full of it
Wow
They needed to show Carol in a bikini.
Dude what is your obsession with Carol and bikinis?
Did you guys know Alice works for Free, and ONE bathroom for all those kids and Iv Never seen a toilet either
Well, there is that one episode where Mike realized he should pay Alice more with for additional family members.
But yeah, no toilets in the 70's
The first season was the best. So innocent.
Socialization the family's no. 1 responsibility how social are you?😂
Do you call your husband, Mr Brady??😮
The first season was the worst. Thankfully it got better and better until the last season that went out with a whimper. Ah, the lifecycle of a sitcom.
Of any series that tends to be true. I though the same thing
This first season shot in 1969 had more of a 60's sitcom format. When they got into the 70's they found their footing and it got better. That last season with Cousin Oliver was a jump the shark moment.
The first season stayed true to the format of the problems facing a blended family. In subsequent seasons, it was hardly ever the focus of an episode.
Why does it matter
Why wouldn't it? Would you want your fairly new spouse feeling unhappy, thinking they made a mistake and maybe at the worse contemplating divorce?
