    Also having a hard time finding someone to put my tech bindings on this video is my ticket to getting them on and getting out there. Thanks a bunch!

    Hi Pete,
    thank you so much for the video an the corresponding mounting gauges. This will safe my new years eve skiing with a brand new pair of skis and Fritschi Vipec Evos.
    For mounting it myself, I re-watched your video a couple of times and was also wandering about the 2nd scale on the front-piece gauge. After a couple of reruns, I noticed your toe piece might be approximately 29 mm away from the intended centered position (based on a sole-length of 322 mm), as the Ski-Center/Center for your desired mounting position probably needs to line up for your sole-length on the front-piece gauge (Scale of 2:1 as the center moves only half for a longer sole).
    The used arrow pointing at the (I assume desired center position) seems to be only for the distance of the heel-piece. It doesn't matter if your setup skis great, but might be helpful for others trying to mount it themselves.
    Best regards and happy skiing.

    Thanks for putting this up. I've got the tectons on one pair of skis. Mounted them up last year. Bought another pair this year and had no clue how to install. The brake and heel piece on these are a little tricky. Once you get them on they are easy to use. You'll like the quick transitions.

    Hi Pete, loved your video. I'm also in TO and thinking of getting into the sport. In your other video you mentioned that you usually keep the ski in walk mode. For someone starting out would you still recommend this setup over a lighter/cheaper Nordic BC setup?

      @@patrickl2793 Hey, yes 100% if you're going to be doing any reasonably technical backcountry. The Nordic BC is good, but you won't have enough control for anything downhill in the trees in powder. I've run Nordic, Nordic BC, three pin Telemark, and nothing is as good for control downhill, unless you're a Telemark pro.

    Cool video...what would happen if you change your boot for 311 boot sole length? It looks like it is possible without drilling new holes, but it would change the centre of gravity I guess

      Yeah you've got a couple centimeters of wiggle room with the back binding adjustment, so you'd be able to accommodate without re drilling

    Hello. Do they have DIN release adjustments at the front? or only the rear?

    • @PeteBarkley
      @PeteBarkley  Месяц назад

      @@mateuszwojaczek they are both toe and heel DIN release

      To clarify: is it possible to set the release force at the toes as at the back (heel)? Is it like classic downhill skiing? I saw somewhere in the video that there is a small sideways rotation at the fingers. Thank you.

      @PeteBarkley  Месяц назад

      @mateuszwojaczek yes, you can set release independently for toe and heel

    How do you remove the heel mounting plate from the heel binding as it's delivered?

    • @PeteBarkley
      @PeteBarkley  10 месяцев назад +1

      Use a Phillips head screwdriver to unscrew the mounting plate as far as it'll go then you just need to jam it out

      Had me scratching my head for a while... everything else was straightforward. Thanks for the video!
