John Wayne has always been my favorite actor, and this is one of my favorite John Wayne movies. And the French model and actress Capucine, who played 'Angel' was one of my favorite John Wayne leading ladies, she was definitely the most beautiful.
Capuccine is such a natural beauty. Charm,, grace, and class with a beautiful shape to boot. Entertaining flick, besides, who doesn't like John Wayne in westerns ?

Only a few years before his passing , he finished his final film - The Shootist with Lauren Bacall ... excellent film . Although , O'Hara wasn't in this film , she is still my favorite leading lady . May they RIP . 💐🌸🪷🌹🌺🌻🌼🌷🪻⚘️

She's told that the passengers don't get onto the ship until midnight (1.45). Then we see a man in broad daylight shouting, "All aboard!" (1.59). Does it stay light all day in Alaska? And Sam got cleaned up mighty quickly in the final scene. But a very amusing ending to the film, nevertheless.
During the summer, when this is set, yes it can be light most of the day. Then in the winter it is correspondingly dark all day. Drives you crazy. Sleep with very dark curtains if you can. The natives don't seem to sleep during their all too short summers of long days.
You are correct - this film is full of faults, like at 1:58:20 the barrel is not rolling but on a line - most brutally seen in the last seconds as if the camera ordered it out of view.
John Wayne did a Movie in South Africa about hunting lions he saw the lions he jumped up on top of Jeep they took a picture of a lion and filmed shooting him shooting the picture
