The vita really missed out. I remember a lot of e3’s where all the games were for ps4 and the vita barely got a mention.
Concrete powers are actually the hardest to drain on inFamous Second Son, because you cannot drain it from concrete stuff, but only from fallen enemies who are concrete conduits.
Hades is even more insane that even this video could convey because even after you unlock the heat system upon beating the game, you're not even in post-game yet until you've beaten the game TEN times, which only paves the way for the secondary story.
The only game I remember playing over and over to get different endings was the original RE2. Loading your Leon save on the Claire disc and vice versa to get endings 3 and 4. Was such an achievement when I was like 13 😂 Then the TOFU and 4th survivor character unlocks made it even more worthwhile to replay the game
2:40 unfortunately it’s not that over powered, you can’t just absorb the concrete from anywhere, you can only absorb concrete from defeated enemies who have the concrete power, but luckily most of the enemies in the late game have it
Yeah, unfortuantly if you liberated all the district from the "cops" and swapped off concrete to another power it was literally impossible to play with it on that save file and if i remember correctly video was really good for dps, neon for sniping/traversing and smoke was great for close combat.
I'm actually in the process of playing Nier: Automata again, and wanted to pose a couple of questions: 1) Is the second playthrough with 9S shorter than the first? I thought I read somewhere that was the case. 2) (SPOILERS!) If you choose to sacrifice your save file at the end, does that prevent you from launching that second playthrough? And, as always, gameranx puts out the best content. You know where to find me between 20:00-22:00 GMT when I get that notification that a new video has been uploaded...WORK BE DAMNED!!!
I'd recommend editing your comment to have multiple line breaks. You don't have to have just one between each line/paragraph, youtube allows you to chain them together to effectively create a spoiler "Read more" feature of your comment. At the end of [E]nding E, after you sacrifice your safe file, you start the game over again from the start, yes really. However, players who have difficulty during the ending credits can summon a ship with your username if you chose to sacrifice your save file while the Internet was connected. it's random who they get, however, so you may never appear to someone.
the save option is only at the ending E. After you beat the game as 2B, thats ending A. 9S playthru, ending B. Then you get second half of a game and just play at that point normally, you will understand everything after that, because the game will tell you exactly how things work.
The 9S section is about the same length of the 2B section, but you keep all your current progress with 2B and it all transfers over to 9S. The enemies get a bit stronger but you still have all your chips, weapon upgrades and character level so it should not be punishing. The sacrificial save file is not even offered until you get ending E which is essentially the fifth main ending. It will delete everything, however you do not actually need to say yes in order to see the final ending through to the end. You can say no and still see it. Saying yes will change the title screen image to prove that you have fully completed the game. You could also make a back up save to the cloud or external hard drive, then say yes to deleting the data and then restore your save from the cloud or hard drive.
9S playthrough is quicker in the sense you have all your unlocks, as some other person already said, and know where to go to progress most things in the story. That being said, if you paid attention closely to the story in the first playthrough, youll see many of those plot points and notions deconstruct and unravel in this playthrough slowly. I wouldn't just speed run it to get to the next part of the game imo. Not really sure why Falcon makes it sound like the game is some slog to play or something, a lot of things are motivating you to keep playing in the second playthrough because of just how "off" it starts to feel like right away. 9S has a lot of things going on in his head which werent totally apparent, and his hacking combat is a pretty awesome twist on the combat which already is filled with twists. Anyone telling you to rush through the second playthrough I feel has JRPG apprehension, and anything "different" just means "weird" to them so they dont engage with the nuanced part of the story (Gameranx is great, but I feel they often start calling anything Japanese weird just because its very unconvential)
There are plenty of crazy post game unlocks in DMC 5 (the series is known for such things), such as the heaven and hell/ hell and hell difficulty modes, Nero's devil trigger (which only becomes available after the final boss) and all the super character with infinite devil trigger (unlocked after finishing the game in the higher difficulties).
Concrete was sick in Infamous, all the powers were. Lightning in Infamous 2 will always be my favourite tho. Such a great game series, hope SP bring it back considering they've got success from Ghost of Tsushima now
Although it is only in the Royal version, Persona 5 has the Third Semester for post game content which is absolutely fantastic, with arguably the best palace ruler that game has to offer.
That's one thing that bugs me about normal P5 after Royal came out. P4 had a case naturally built in for a "bad", "good", and "True" ending, where Royal made it seem like P5 only had a "bad", and "Good" ending unless you got the 3rd Semester ending that felt more like the proper "True" ending.
Spiderman for the PS2 - once you beat the game you can play it again as Green Goblin with his hoverboard and bombs and stuff and it was awesome. I think it was even more fun than playing as Spiderman!
I can't for the life of me ever replay a story driven game a second time unless it has been years in between. So I am glad videos like this come out and I get to find out about something cool.
I'm not sure if this would count as main game, post-game, or epilogue but unlocking The Everfall in Dragon's Dogma. Some of the best items (apart from Bitterblack Isle items) in the main game can found/looted in The Everfall if you have the tenacity to fight all the boss monsters. Afterwards, you can then transfer all your loot into NG+.
You guys COULD have mentioned the True Ending path in Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep, which unlocks after finishing the main campaigns for each of the playable characters, that game also includes an arena mode as well, with some insanely powerful enemies that you're not going to see in the main worlds.
Love the goldeneye shout. Felt like most amazing reward when I was a kid. I memorised that golden gun walk to the tea. Really hope that remaster ends up coming and things are not unlocked from beginning. Want to go back and do it all again!
One game I remember that had the alt-ending that I found on my own was the PS2 game “Spy Hunter”. You play as either a male or female spy, go through the whole game and the end boss will say something different to each of them. When the two come together and ut the pieces together they find out that WASN’T the guy in charge and so the second playthrough triggers a second endboss.
I remember fining the Red Faction Armageddon Easter Egg when I was playing with a friend and how we were basically howling with laughter the entire time, it's the same with the chickens in Gears, it's so absurd but makes you laugh out loud. Also, I always appreciate your spoiler warnings, if there's a game I'm interested in playing I never have to worry about details getting spoiled!

before I ever knew the bandana reference I always thought that he was pointing to his head, instead meaning 'your brain is infinite ammo' (not literal ammo) which, in turn, is also pretty cool
i would love to see Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter added to a list like this. The game has a scoring system that increases based on your performance the previous playthrough. You start out as a 1/5012 or something rank, with the max being 1/4. Not saving the game, completing it really fast, not abusing the overpowered dragonform too much and some other stuff factors into the rank increase. The interesting part is that throughout the game you encounter a lot of locked doors, that open up for certain ranks. As well as giving you more items, it also adds a ton of story that just isn't available the first time around - or second and third times if your rank doesn't increase enough. And this is a genuinely challenging game as well it's not like you just unlock new game plus and go wild. Other things change as well in new game plus, namely there is a sword that increases in power based on your rank that is either quickly outclassed by other weapons or devastatingly powerful depending on your rank.
Nexomon and Nexomon: Extinction have cool stuff after you finish. The first game it's a new story, new legendaries and a new leveling system for your monsters. The second game is basically the ability to turn the game into a pokemon nuzlocke for your next playthrough with a bunch of different settings to play with.
On Chrono Trigger, you can also get the developer room ending if you beat Lavos in the first encounter on the black omen. He uses his three strongest attacks with damage buffs. Personally, I think this is the hardest fight in the game as the first phase is op. The rest isn’t bad. The solo one is easy if you use the good armor and helmet, gold stud, spam luminaire.
Correct me if I'm wrong but the concrete powers in second son was incredibly annoying to get again if you get rid of it if you did everything else before you finished it
Games that break the fourth wall on their narratives while also giving something back to the player is always appreciated. Some games don’t wait until the end for it either. Example: Bloodborne “Source of the Dream”
Getting the Sunwing in Horizon Forbidden West. Ok, you can get it before you finish the game, but only near the end. A bit obvious as to why though. You could easily skip most world and lore discovery and combat by only flying from waypoint to waypoint.
OHHHH back when I played MGS2 I always thought him pointing at himself just meant 'I have infinite ammo because I'm the main character', but now I realise that it's because it's a reference to the first metal gear solid. That whole section of MGS2 was a massive fourth wall break with the colonel going crazy and glitching.
Jak 3 and Jak 2 have "Secrets" menus after the game where you can unlock invincibility, unlimited ammo, unlimited light/dark Jak mode, character model views, concept art, pranks like making the an angry character be in underwear, gotee or no gotee, all kinds of fun stuff. I miss stuff like that in games
In Red Faction Armageddon completing the game also unlocks cheats like infinite ammo for all the weapons, various LEO exosuit guns which are extremely fun to play with in a new game plus
it's also possible to get that infinite ammo bandanna in Metal Gear Solid 5. if i remember, you need to get at least an A ranking on EVERY story mission. -if you manage to get a S ranking on every mission, you can play as Raiden!
I loved the older Metal Gear solids. So sad we will never see new ones again. I loved the world and lore too even though it was and still is hard to completely understand.
Yeah I think the only finish game unlocks that are worth it are ones that let you do something really cool or different such as horizon fw where people have said you get a plane that you can fly around the massive world bet that is really cool
@@therunawaykid6523 perhaps, but that's still usually more like NG+, & if I'm going to replay all the Levels in a Game, I wanna do so w/ a completely different Build, ya know?
Nice list! I'd like to point out that the original Manhunt had a lot of great unlockable levels and even cheats that you could only get access to after beating the game and/or achieving 5 stars on certain scenes.
6:54 I wish other games did things like this in different genres, because endgame goals and replayability seems to be being overlooked in favor of holding player retention through needless battle passes and cosmetic & events. Let the true nature of the game shine through, not all this unnecessary fluff on top that only provides a temporary attention grab
Those things are almost exclusive to multiplayer games, and mostly do nothing but add more value for you. You can't have a freaking NG+ in a multiplayer game so that doesn't even make any sense.
Yep, I'm one of those people who never truly finished Dragon Quest XI. I got to the Epilogue (although in my game it was called Act 3), but I was well over 100 hours played at that point and realizing how much I still had left to do for trophies...I just kind of stepped away. It was a great game, but it got to be very grindy at that point.
@@efrenarevalo2025 Yeah I didn't care for the time travel aspect either. The game could have naturally ended after Act 2 and it would have been perfectly fine.
In case people don't know; Mr. Toots was created by Freddie Wong. Please look up his channel and check out the work he did with Corridor Digital. You will likely recognize the Dubstep Guns used in Saints Row.
Nier Automata is one of the more elaborate cases of multiple endings, but JRPG's definitely have a trend towards doing that. I'd go so far as to say that a reasonable majority of them have, at the very least, more than a single "end" to the game. Sometimes it's simple differences like "bad, normal, good" endings, sometimes it's Chrono Trigger style, with multiple endings based on how/when you beat the game, and then sometimes they lose their minds and make it like Automata...
Dragon's Dogma kinda has this, though maybe that's more of a false ending than finishing the game and continuing on. It's DLC definitely has it. Defeat the DLC once and you can go in again, this time against even harder foes.
Dude...DQ11 is SUCH a good game. As a 39 year old long term gamer. Chrono Trigger is one of my favorite rpgs ever, and DQ11 just about matches it. Can't recommend it enough.
While maybe not at the end of the game one of the unlocks for finding a certain number of precursor orbs in jak3 gives you the power of flight which lets you fly around anywhere, there is also a way to glitch fly so you can get to places you are not meant to there is even a secret pipe you can fly up to using the glitch that features an Easter egg Showing an image of the game devs
Know I'm a little late but this made me think about the Master Cycle Zero from the BotW Champion's Ballad DLC. Unlock it after beating the game, then re-beating all the divine beasts, bonus shrines, and secret boss. But then you kinda have no reason to need a faster way to get around the map
I've never played a Kirby game because they never really looked like something I would enjoy. Forgotten lands on the other hand look like it's really good.
I beat dragon quest 11 a while back and I got have way through post game when I got burnt out. I think after this video it's time for me to jump back in and finish everything.
@@fudgerounds91 i actually quite liked having multiple powers . It allowed different possibilties to defeat the Enemys. I'd like to formerly congradulate Gameranx for going (1) video without talking about Symphony of the Night! I challenge you to next make a video that doesn't feature Symphony of the Night, DMC 5, Nier/Nier: Automata, of Final Fantasy 14
Nier Automata is the most creative game I've ever played hands down....felt like I was 9 again playing kingdom hearts 2 for the first time....Me not knowing about the 3 endings made it even better plus how challenging it gets
After completing the first 'Condemned' game, once you finish it you unlock infinite ammo Shotgun to replay the entire game with!!!!! concidering you only get the shotgun for all of 10 minutes in the first playthrough, its an absolutely killer reward!!!!
Funny story about KH CoM. I played the original GBA version back in middle school, in the half hour or so I had between when my buddy (Was his game) got there and when school started. This meant I had a limited time to load up and beat the final boss fight, if I didn’t want to quick save halfway in and resume the next day. As kids, we were of course too impatient for that. It ended up crashing during the final cutscene and we thought it wasn’t going to count, but apparently it did set a flag and we unlocked Reverse/Rebirth anyway.
Thank you so much for this list. It’s so refreshing to think back on games where you were actually given a wealth of content in the base game. With all this goodness to speak of, some developers really have the players, and the player experience in mind. Not a single DLC to speak of.
Only the most unbelievably dumb and clueless fool would not like getting MORE of a game they enjoy, I've played many DLC's so rich and expansive they could be a damn sequel but without the cost associated which is the ONLY reason we got it. DLC's are a good thing and that is simply a fact. You clearly do not play modern games.
Most of these are great because the game actually has NG+ or significant post game play. I hate when games give you something like this then have no post game. Second Son was a big offender, you get Concrete power and had basically nothing to do with it, and its such a cool power.
It’s not crazy, but unlocking Dragon Shores in Spyro Ripto’s Rage post game as a kid was something super special and made it much more enjoyable to still play after
odd that they didn’t mention the entirely new Goddess after beating Hades for the first time. Beating it the first time catches the attention of the Goddess Demeter, which unlocks and entire new roster of Boons

Your videos are really fun....so many games I like to hear about but I really don't have the time for all of them lol. But I love hearing about them.
In Red Faction Armageddon completing the game also unlocks cheats like infinite ammo for all the weapons, various LEO exosuit guns which are extremely fun to play with in a new game plus
Thank you! Mr toot is amzing 😂😂😂
it's also possible to get that infinite ammo bandanna in Metal Gear Solid 5.
if i remember, you need to get at least an A ranking on EVERY story mission.
-if you manage to get a S ranking on every mission, you can play as Raiden!
I would really love it if we got another infamous game. I'd love to see what they can do with ps5.
Mr toots can be unlocked before finishing the game, it's hidden under the floor somewhere i think.
All your video ideas even on second parts are so fresh
Thanks
I loved the older Metal Gear solids. So sad we will never see new ones again. I loved the world and lore too even though it was and still is hard to completely understand.
after I beat a Game, I'm done w/ it and just don't care to do anything anymore, often excited to Play any number of other Games from my backlog
I'm convinced this guy has the best voice on RUclips
In my case I just refuse to play the post game because I hated the way they invalidated my entire adventure for a 'happy ending'.
Metal gear solid 4 also has the bandana and stealth camo.
Videos like this remind me of the Foam Finger Gun from finishing Dead Space 2 in Hardcore mode. Was brutal the first few attempts, but worth it!
My favorite end game unlock was the sword of Aeons you received after completing Fable. Sone good memories with that one.
Know I'm a little late but this made me think about the Master Cycle Zero from the BotW Champion's Ballad DLC. Unlock it after beating the game, then re-beating all the divine beasts, bonus shrines, and secret boss. But then you kinda have no reason to need a faster way to get around the map
I love this list. I love games that give you completion rewards
I've never played a Kirby game because they never really looked like something I would enjoy. Forgotten lands on the other hand look like it's really good.
I beat dragon quest 11 a while back and I got have way through post game when I got burnt out. I think after this video it's time for me to jump back in and finish everything.
There is actually a 5th Power in Second Son. Paper. But Somke is coolest
Unpopular opinion: Second Son is the best Infamous Game
I can see where you're coming from, but I wish Delsin just had one power so thst way we could really explore it in-depth.
@@fudgerounds91 i actually quite liked having multiple powers . It allowed different possibilties to defeat the Enemys. Get invisible and Strike them from behind, throw a smoke Bomb and take them out while they are coughing. Or summoning freaking Angles. And Delsin was just a Great character. All characters und this Game were great (except for Eugene)

I see where you're coming from, again, but to me it felt like I was playing in three different puddles, instead of having an entire well to draw from.
In the clip for last video, did you mean to say Final Fantasy 15 instead of 10? Could be I'm confused. Very entertaining and fun video as always Falcon!
1:50 lifts the tail but what's he pulling for a trigger?
I'd like to formerly congradulate Gameranx for going (1) video without talking about Symphony of the Night! I challenge you to next make a video that doesn't feature Symphony of the Night, DMC 5, Nier/Nier: Automata, of Final Fantasy 14
falcon always blessing my boring days. much love gameranx!
Falcon's voice is so relaxing 😌
Love the videos I've been watching them as soon as they come out lately.
👌
8:23 I never knew Akira toriyama has worked on games before 🤯🤯🤯
Nier Automata is the most creative game I've ever played hands down....felt like I was 9 again playing kingdom hearts 2 for the first time....Me not knowing about the 3 endings made it even better plus how challenging it gets
Snake also has the bandana/headband in smash… where he also has unlimited ammo
Got me wanting to play a lot of games, even though I'm already playing half a dozen XD
Love how the gameplay from the miniature is at the beginning of the game
I miss infamous. Was a great time
I hope they make another one, and bring cole back somehow
@@mikeymontuy4520 Rumor is there is one in the works. But remember, canonically, Cole died.
After completing the first 'Condemned' game, once you finish it you unlock infinite ammo Shotgun to replay the entire game with!!!!!
concidering you only get the shotgun for all of 10 minutes in the first playthrough, its an absolutely killer reward!!!!
I love the bandana reference for MSG. I played all these games as kid and never put 2 and 2 together
Classic Goldeneye Egypt level that was nuts, I actually figure out how to get golden gun after a lot of fails
Dq11 should have ended after the first ending. It felt a lot more satisfying. Plus, the blonde girl becomes an absolute beast in combat.
Most of these are great because the game actually has NG+ or significant post game play. I hate when games give you something like this then have no post game. Second Son was a big offender, you get Concrete power and had basically nothing to do with it, and its such a cool power.
Infamous Second son: you can only drain the concrete from the enemies with concrete abilities. Not from the streets.
It’s not crazy, but unlocking Dragon Shores in Spyro Ripto’s Rage post game as a kid was something super special and made it much more enjoyable to still play after
Super proud that I 100% Dragon Quest 11. One of the most complete and satisfying JRPGs I've played.
The Infamous Second Son unlocked is so great walking around using every power no Enemies to hunt you down anymore so much FUN
odd that they didn’t mention the entirely new Goddess after beating Hades for the first time. Beating it the first time catches the attention of the Goddess Demeter, which unlocks and entire new roster of Boons
God I hope they do more Infamous games.
Lunar 2 has also great postgame content.
