Good stuff, Brother. I just unplug all my gear and disconnect all antennas when they are not in use, as a preventative measure for lightning strikes. I figure that would also protect it if the sun gets too angry. I'd buy your book.
Hey 👋 what do you think about trying to make videos on you trying to contact the international space station on your base station setup and try asking questions for an astronaut ?🧑🚀 I think that would be a good series of videos.
Not sure it works that way. As the ISS passes over areas a bunch hams go out and try to make a contact, so most of the time they will only acknowledge your call sign and return a signal report an move on to the next ham. Great idea, but I doubt I could have a chat as they fly over. Thanks for the comment and for watching. 73!
IMO... Hams need to spend more time learning about electronics, buying a few good diy books, building projects of all kinds ('exercise' your knowledge), buying and storing one or two QRP CW rig kits in a faraday bag, having a portable solar generator on hand with a few panels, and having some proficiency in morse code. I agree. As a ham you should always be learning and experimenting to find things that work for you and enhance your knowledge of ham radio in whatever aspects interest you. Thanks for watching and for the comment. 73!!
Apparently the software that determines that has no report for the MUF. I have no good answer for you on that except to say that it will eventually change, but maybe with all the solar activity it is causing issues beyond the norm. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching and for the comment.
LOL... Was it that obvious? Seriously though it has more to do with Congress not taking action for the past 50 years on something that they knew could happen based on just looking at history and putting money towards everything except our security our infrastructure and our safety in the event of a solar flare or other type of EMP related issue. I'm glad you like the video if you have any ideas or thoughts on what I was talking about in the video posted here or post it on the Facebook page it may help out other people.
