- Dear Golf began with a segment from The Erik Anders Lang Show where we asked our guests to write a letter to golf. Some were poems, phrases, or words. But combined, it turned into a video expressing our collective love and gratitude for the sport of golf. Then, we expanded the original idea to Team TaylorMade including Tiger Woods, Dustin Johnson, Jason Day, Matthew Wolff, Collin Morikawa, Maria Fassi, Natalie Gulbis, Martin Kaymer, Lily He, as well as the Random Golf Club Community, to join together in writing a love letter to golf. Dear Golf… we missed you. We missed sinking long birdie putts, those early morning tee times, blasting big drives, the fans roaring in the background while the pros battled it out for major PGA tournaments, we even missed the occasional duff; but most of all, we missed Tiger’s Sunday Red. Dear Golf… we’re glad to have you back.

Welcome to golf. What was one of your favorite memories on the course since you started playing?
My first time on a course. The weather, the freedom, the views. I could say “I’m a golfer” which brought this weird smile to me. I was also with my wife and my son(10 yo). The bonding was so sick. Hole one was a 100 par 3 and my son birdied that hole. That was awesome!!!! Ps can’t wait for more adventures.
I love how I enjoyed hearing from people I don't know more than I enjoyed hearing from the pros! That is golf, that little white ball does not know or care who is about to send it on a journey! Thanks Erik and TaylorMade, great video!!

I wrote this a while back, and in my country, golf courses are closed until June 1, tentative.
So, here's my story and letter for y'all to enjoy!
Golf. I really love golf. And I really miss golf.
It's the sport I've been playing since I was 11.
It's the sport that has brought me so much joy, despite the struggles I've faced, and has allowed me to meet so many good friends and people as well. It acts as my emotional anchor at times too.
I love a social round, a gathering with friends and having fun. I love a competitive round, where adrenaline is pumping, being in the zone, and doing my best at every single shot, giving it that little extra compared to social games, with the intensity at a high.
For 4 months in early 2019, I could not play due to a foot surgery and recovery. I fought really hard to recover, wanting to get back to the golf course again. And I did it.
Now, we face another period where there's no golf. And this time, it's due to a global pandemic. It makes me realise how much I treasure golf, and love the game. It makes me realise that I should just be happy to be even playing the next time out there, regardless of my performance on course.
Great video Erik you really captured the passion people have for this game. My back yard boarders our communities golf
course and for the last two months very evening my son would walk to the patio door and look out longingly at the third green and fourth tee. Wondering if he could sneak out there and play a few holes. Thank you so much for including him in your video. You have no idea how much happiness that brought to him. Thanks again and keep up the great work.
What a great video, every golfer in the world can relate in their own way but only 23,000 have been lucky enough to see it so far! Needs more views!

I live in Sweden so I miss it for six months every year. I should really move.

Dear Golf,
I miss arriving to the course only to realize I forgot my golf shoes at home next to the front door, I also miss arriving late to my tee time only to get skipped by a (5) sum walking. I can't begin to express all the wonderful joy you have brought me. I can't wait to be on that first tee again only to slice one right out of bounds then to tee another one up saying "that's a breakfast ball" knowing that it's 3pm. Oh the joys of this wonderful game. We will unite again, and when we do I will continue my quest to try and figure you out!

I missed my new club and meeting my new members from my old.
I missed my regular comp and simple on course meditation even when I'm talking to new ppl
So crazy thankful for this game and how it is so much of my identity that I associate myself with. So much so that I don’t know who I would be without it. I feel so grateful to have been introduced to the game early on and experience it from so many different sides, competitive and recreational. My goals in the game now are to take in every aspect of it, enjoy where I am, who I’m with, and to laugh at the bad shots and relish in the good ones. Thank you, Golf. ❤️🙏🏼⛳️

I've been in isolation for 9 weeks here in Ontario, Canada. I've not seen my daughter. My brothers. My colleagues. My friends. As a widower in isolation I feel adrift. I've been golfing for 41 years. I love it but honestly, right now, I'd take my life back and wait for golf. Guess what is back before all those others things? Yes. Golf. Tomorrow. I'd take those other things instead. In a heart beat. I get the sentiments. I really do. Love your videos. They have put a smile on my face along with a lot of other RUclipsrs. But I have a new perspective. It's time to put amusements in their proper place and muse about the things that really matter.

Really happy to see more people in the world being able to hit the course again in these times! Dear Golf,
I missed u. Its true what they say, absence truly does make the heart grow fonder. Ive missed the times when we are out together sharing the good times... and bad. The whispers you make in my ear "you ARE a good golfer" are great to hear once more.... Although sometimes i let you down, you are always there for me. Ive missed the pulling on of a new glove, the feeling of a nicely struck shot and the company of friends which share your love.
Although we will have our ups and downs, i believe will be great friends with you until the day i die.

I’ve only just started my real relationship with golf amidst this pandemic as I prepare myself for a summer position in tournament operations. Hitting whiffle balls in the yard stinks compared to those times when I used to mess around at a driving range. I can’t wait to go to a range and truly practice, work on my game and get better, and then hit the links with friends and family by my side (that is, once I can at least come close to hitting a fairway😂)

@@RandomGolfClubFilms Erick, thanks for taking the time to answer my comment. I'm in Colombia and sadly, no, there aren't golf courses or practice facilities open due to this pandemic. There have been some efforts to show that golf can be a sport that can be practiced safely, but so far the government hasn't pronounced. I hope that soon will be able to play again always thinking about safety first.

Dear Golf, they say that absence makes the heart grow fonder, and now I understand why. Not seeing you for the past 8 weeks has made me realise what a special bond we have, that I will no longer take for granted, and will cherish every future moment we are together.
Over the past 20+ years we’ve enjoyed some good times, some bad and some indifferent.. we’ve fought and made up many times, and almost given up on the relationship once or twice. However, we’ve been able to stick it out and make a go of it, as we knew it was for the best. To be able to get together yesterday after a long break, made me realise what a special relationship we have.
Oh, and I shot a net 65!👍. Sorry Erik, I kept score!😁
